Mossman's serves the best pancakes and french toast in town. Hands down!!. My only complaint is there is a lady who is always so upset when she serves you. A few times we ate here, she has said the same comments, "it's just me here, so you'll have to wait." Which we don't mind, I just don't understand why she has to tell us this every time we show up. It's rude. The takeout is also just as delish!

Ordered online but... omg very bad at this location. Buena Vista location is thousand times better.. not only newer but better tasting food, especially the pancakes.. The food at this location was horrible, pancakes were burnt and our home potatoes were hard and under cooked. The rest of the food was flavorless.. I will not be eating at this location ever again and I suggest you not to either. If I could give negative stars I would.

We had them cater the county Fair and every single dish was prepared amazing. The variety and portions were perfect and all the band cast and crew enjoyed it for 2 weeks straight. Miranda and Daniel were amazing staff and made our requests happen with a smile. I'm definitely recommending this restaurant to anyone in Bakersfield or for catering. It's the kinda meal we look forward to having after a long hard day at the concerts. Thank you

Bakersfield staple for coffee shop / greasy spoon type food .
known for it's fish and chips and they do it right. fish is always cooked perfect with fries and Cole slaw. chicken fried chicken with cream country gravy and hash browns is good as is the french dip. probably the best pancakes in town.

A great little diner sharing a building with a bowling alley. A super cool atmosphere with nice staff. The wait wasn’t long at all and the fish and chips I had were superb. But the atmosphere and the staff are what really sells it. Would definitely recommend for a quick meal.

So I've been here 2x. The first back in May 2024, the morning of my wedding. I went with my parents who are from Texas, they were overly happy to find a "Texas portion" restaurant. Everything was great, even the coffee, which is what I was looking for that day lol. A few months later I took my husband and we both loved the lunch we had that ordered. The size of the portion you get get for the price you pay is amazing. We have pread the word to family and friends "GO TO MOSSMAN'S". We will definitely be returning again and again.

I work near and have ordered from them many times over the years, but here lately the food isn’t the best anymore. I thought maybe a bad day, but literally in the last few orders it is just not good anymore. The fries seem like they have refried them with old ones and mixed with fresh ones, the biscuits and gravy is horrible now. I don’t see this restaurant lasting much long.

I am not understanding the difficulty in preparing the Chicken Strips dinner as stated on their menu.
It was to have the gravy underneath and the mashed potatoes were to have white gravy on them as well.
This is the third time I have ordered this and it was delivered incorrectly.
Upon calling the restaurant to let them know this and asking for Jordan, the manager, the employee that answered the phone became defensive, advised me that Jordan was busy and would be off work the next two days.
It is one thing to get my order continously wrong, but to take an attitude with me is something that as a customer, I will not tolerate.
I get tired of having to call the restaurant and do their job for them.
The only way to ensure that I don't receive attitude, a wrong order, and to stop doing their job for them is to not give them my business anymore.
And that's that.

I haven't been here in over a year, so I was excited to go there again. I've been a fan over the years. I cried when the bowling alley was removed from the building.

Everything was just not as clean as their usual enviroment. Shakers, silverware, table and seats. My server "oh you got a bad one" when I showed her my coffee creamer in the little cup was runny like snot. Coffee was weak and I never got a refill. Went around 11:30 on a weekday. She didn't seem phased about the creamer.
I just knew the Mossmans to be all around better.
I enjoyed time with my companion. However the location was a bummer this time. I ordered biscuits and gravy and coffee.

Love this spot for the food.. but take it to go... The smell in there is unbearable. Asbestos or something lmao nah idk it's probably just needs fresh paint, carpet and aired out for like a month. Whew! 😮 Someone should intervene. Lol fish & chips are delish, and biscuits and gravy...which can be a biatch to find places that make a decent gravy or real biscuit. Lol Overall, all the breakfast and lunch foods are good, and u can call in your order, ahead of time to limit your exposure to that smell of the old building

There is a waitress that works there that always treats me different from other people. Not in a good way. And I have never gave her any reason to dislike me. I am always polite, I never make difficult food orders, i’ve always treated everyone there with respect. So I’m assuming it’s my color. And I’m just gonna leave it at that. I like this place. They have great food. I try to come when she’s not there but I lost that gamble today. I went head and went in because a dear friend of mine was walking up at the same time to dine there. But after this last experience, I’m not going back. Obviously I’m not welcome.

Service seemed good, but very busy, This has a wheelchair ramp in front and handicap parking in rear but the wheelchair accessible bathroom was locked and no disabled bathrooms in the main bathroom. The chicken fried steak seemed tough like it had not been tenderize and a bit on the darker side of fried with black spots on the ends, If you want crispy hashbrowns the asked for extra extra crispy. The pancakes are very delicious. Eggs medium means fully cooked I guess here. I will definitely order something different next time

The waitresses who worked the AM shift today, 1/19/2023 should be fired. Very unattentive and seemed to dismiss me even when I was seated at the counter. The cook had to serve my meal when he noticed by completed order sitting on the counter for approximately 5 minutes while the waitress walked past it and stood idle by the cask register. I've eaten here before and enjoy the food but this quality of service is deplorable. Hope I never encounter these two women again.
