I like coming here when I visit, the place is clean and nice. The kiosk machine makes it easy to order your drinks and food. My niece and daughter love ordering the bingsu and taiyaki. Can t find another place that serves these types of pastry/desserts in town.

Well this was an unexpectedly delicious treat. Dine-in only for the pat bingsu shaved ice but so worth the stop. We seeing by every time were in town. Helpful staff and quick service too. Not a ton of seating and it fills up kind of quick so patient

ever since they opened, i have always loved this spot. i love how gentle and kind the owners are . their options aren t as extreme as bobatime, but they easily make up in unique korean-influenced options. every drink, bingsu, cheesecake, açai bowl, and boong o pang they serve has so much more love put into it. the store s interior is very photo-genic, making it easy to feel welcomed and take lots of pictures. they also host a lot of korean events here too so kpop lovers and korean culture come flock here i ve only had boba and shaved ice desserts (bingsu) this good rivaled that in a few stores from the Philippines . i highly recommend their Lychee Lime Green Tea , Taro Smoothie or Tea , Mango C+ Smoothie , Strawberry Coconut Smoothie , any of their Boong o Pang , Kuromitsu Coffee , Dragon Fruit Açai Bowl , and especially their Brown Sugar Matcha Bingsu & Taro Bingsu . they also serve milk alternatives for those lactose intolerant :) (soy and almond milk for sure i know) i made the owners a fan-made tour video of the store last october, and they were kind enough to post it on their IG. if i could be paid to say this, i would spend a whole month spamming their reviews and social media, i swear they re that good. i hope Maui Pho moving down a couple doors from here will help bring even more people to drink here and show the owners some love too <3.

The best açaí bowl youll find in Bakersfield!! This location in particular makes the best açaí bowls (they have the same base as the most popular places in town, not overly sweet). You dont need to do too much with the toppings either. Get a Tahiti bowl- and thank me later. Cute little place inside. Seating is comfortable and very modern. Service is great. The staff remembers people and orders. If you have it once you will definitely be back for seconds. They also have other options such as boba, Japanese cheesecake, boba, bingsu & boong o pang, smoothies, matcha and coffee! Definitely give this place a try, you wont regret it.

My sister really wanted to try Cafe Tori because she could get Bungeoppang there and she had been wanting to try that treat. I decided to join them. Upon first entering I had no idea what Cafe Tori offered on its menu. I attempted to figure what the menu consisted of and after a bit realized it was Acai bowls, teas, boba, smoothies and other drinks. They had other offerings and the obviously new employee attempted to answer my questions and was quite helpful even though she was learning the ropes. After we all (4 of us) ordered we took a seat at one of maybe 6 tables that are in the place (limited seating). They had some music going and I was concerned I would miss my order call out as they have a pick up counter as you would find at Starbucks. But the staff made sure that they made eye contact with us as they called our orders to make sure we knew our orders were ready. The staff was friendly. The orders took a bit (approximately 12-20 minutes) to be called. We all ordered separately. But we all had our food in about 20 minutes. It wasn t all that busy and I believe I saw 3 employees in there. Overall the wait wasn t an issue but if this place was packed could imagine wait times would increase. The food itself was decent and fresh but there was nothing stand out about anything I had that I hadn t had at other places. The place was a bit pricey for my liking but I understand small locally owned business likely have to charge more to stay in business but a Açaí bowl, a drink and an order of the bungeoppang (3piece) ran me $32 without tip. I m happy I tried this place and I walked away without any disappointment but I don t think I would return unless someone else wanted to go there. Wishing this place continued success.

Had to order from a kiosk. when making the order, youre presented with images that I dont even know if thats what Im getting as you are able to customize the order with just about every option is an additional fee on top of it. For the drink and some fish shaped pastries, it seems a little on the high side (post $20 minimum wage). Im sure the food is great, but its not for me

Im thrilled that Cafe Tori is a part of Bakersfields scene. Despite its cozy size and limited seating, the place is charming and well-kept. While the boba may not be bursting with flavor, the drinks overall are reliably enjoyable, with a diverse selection to choose from. What really sets them apart is their fantastic bingsu a delightful rarity in Bakersfield. Its a treat worth savoring in this little gem of a cafe.

I used to come to this place pre-pandemic to study when it used to be T-Baar. I know this is a different place now but this is the first time I came back after 4+ years hoping it would have a similar ambiance. I was not aware that this cafe is no longer a study place as they dont offer Wi-fi. Within the first hour, I felt like they started blasting out music to the fullest volume which made me think they did on purpose to kick me out. I stayed for a couple more hours until I was told that I was already staying for too long. I stayed for a total of 3 hours. I usually stay in cafes for 6 hours and would have no problem with it. Its such a shame because I do explore study places in Bakersfield and I have never been told that I was staying for too long before. Granted, they did tell me to move to a different spot as I was occupying a 4-seat table. But there werent many options. I wouldve stayed longer but the loud music made me think they didnt want me there. I was also originally planning to bring my friends for a study sesh or to hang out but I unfortunately did not have a good experience. If youre looking to get some studying/homework done, this is not the place.

this was my first time visiting and definitely not my last! I m coming all the way from Fresno since this is the only spot that sell bingsu and I had been dying to eat some. I am under the assumption that bingsu isn t made to go since it s a cold dessert but after talking with the older gentleman who was attending me, he arranged my order for to go and was so sweet! the whole experience was so welcoming and they were so generous, it makes the drive worth it! If I could rate more than 5 stars i would!

Food was slightly above average quality for Boba/acai places in town. Unfortunately the servers do not explain anything about their menu when youre ordering and when presented with an issue when the order is complete made it out to be a mistake on the side of the patron when placing the order. I doubt Ill be back.

My sister and I took the kiddos for Boong O Pang and Boba teas and ended up staying quite a while enjoying the music while we chat with the kids about their week. The atmosphere and service were absolutely perfect. The staff was so friendly and speedy. The snacks were tasty and the tea was delicious! The only issue was the menu. While they do have a big drinks menu outside before you walk in, inside there is only the menu at the register counter to look over, and some menu items posted on the menu boards behind the counter. But it wasnt a serious issue. Overall, we all had a great time and cant wait to take everyone back to try more treats.

I loved everything about cafe tori! Staff is absolutely phenomenal and the food was even better! We ordered the strawberry bingsoo and the ice was so fluffy it sparkled. The strawberries were the best I ve had in my entire life I don t know where they source them, but they were incredibly fresh and sweet. Presentation is top tier as well. The matcha is REAL matcha to die for! I ve had matcha from many other places and it always tastes bitter or artificial, but not cafe tori s. Acai bowl was equally as good, fresh fruit and quality ingredients. We ordered 3 pieces of the fish taiyaki but never got them until we asked a staff and realized someone else took them. He was kind and sympathized well with us, then the manager gave us two more fishies when he remade our order! That s quality and care for customers right there. Super lovely staff (and the lanky dude is super funny too). I can t wait to go back to this super aesthetic and tasty spot. Note: bingsoo can def be shared by 2-3 people!

Love! Authentic bingsu plus some Americanized versions like oreo. Cute little spot. Adorable interior. Fresh fruit. Mango isnt available in the winter time because it is not in season. Try the seasonal Lattes! The fish pastry stuffed with sweet red adzuki bean paste was my favorite. The strawberry custard filled one was my daughters fave. They take a long time to serve, there is not enough place to sit, I went to buy something and they did not want to prepare anything for me because it was half an hour to close

Published a year ago

Review №42

I came here an HOUR before they close, and I was told by an employee I could not have ice cream because it would take too long to make, it s ridiculous that you have a store open for an HOUR before closing and not serve anything. At that point why not close the store at 7:30. I am a reasonable person and I would understand if I came in 10 minutes before closing time but even then that s bad service to the customer and bad business etiquette for the owner of the store. My hunch is that the lazy employee yesterday on Tuesday didn t want to clean dishes before closing which I find kind of silly since it s their job.

A little confusing on menu items. The back wall show types of products but no prices. An expanded menu and pricing list is at the register and on the counter so the full menu is being blocked by the person in front of you ordering. Ordered a matcha with boba. It was very chalky as if it wasn t mixed enough. Had to stir it with a straw to keep it from settling on the bottom. Nice place and great service though. But overall experience was disappointing.

This was my first time here, and it did not disappoint. The patbingsu was excellent - the shaved ice/milk is super creamy and did not melt quickly. The product that came out also looks exactly like the advertised photos! They really spend time to make it look good. The bungeoppang were also really good - fresh and hot. They paired well with the shaved ice. The prices were reasonable. The only two downsides are that the blender or shaved ice machine is really loud, and that it took about 25 minutes for the desserts to be ready - the store was a bit busy around 6:45 pm, and there were only about 3 workers. Be prepared to wait, but it was worth it

Confusingly, they did include a ziploc bag of additional ice... Never again. Massively disappointing.
