We came here for High Tea. The Living room is decorated beautifully! There was a harp that was being played. The tables were set up so elegantly. The tea, the tray full of small bites and champagne were perfect. The service was absolutely top notch. Everyone was very attentive, kind & friendly! Literally, felt very special by this amazing experience. Recommend this to be done at least once in your lifetime.. and the place to go is the Living Room!

We had the best high tea experience for our wedding anniversary! I’d always wanted to try their high tea, so this felt like the perfect occasion. The scones were fresh and perfectly baked, pairing beautifully with the cream and jam. I ordered the coconut tea, and it was delicious. At the end, they surprised us with an anniversary cake as well. We were so full that we had to take it home! The service was amazing, and although the price was on the expensive side, it was absolutely worth it.

Came here for a birthday high tea and the location is gorgeous, the good and tea are acceptable, but the experience was completely ruined by the wait staff. No one checked on our table a single time, the only time our tea was refilled was when we stood up and went to get it, someone finally came over. Definitely dampened the experience, and for the price, I can't imagine returning.

For $125 a person, guests should not be pushed out by being given a doggie bag with food that was supposed to be served during the meal... especially since the service as slow. Also, offer water up front. It's the least you could do, fancy pants. The whole experience was obnoxious and sadly LA-cliche. Not cute.

Came here for afternoon high tea service. Wait staff was outstanding, interior was magnificently decorated, and live harpist serenading set a lovely mood. Bottomless champagne added for 35$ is so worth it. Tea was an excellent earl gray, though many top teas offerings are available. I was shocked by how numerous and filling the tea snacks were. Scones and jam were outstanding! Patisserie and finger sandwiches were each carefully crafted, and as nice to eat as they were to look at. Valet with valedation, though still ended up spending about 18$. Would absolutely recommend and will be back with friends and family for our next social occasion.

Highly recommend tea!!!!!

Went to tea service for my birthday and it was wonderful! The music of the harp in the background set a majestic backdrop to the beautiful room and china setup. Then, the service was terrific and accommodating.

The tea and food were fabulous. We had special food request and they didn’t blink an eye and we loved the food!

If I were to make one suggestion it would be to have a tea sampling maybe mini tea cups where if you want you can pick three teas to sample but really just a small suggestions as overall I would come every celebration for tea at The Peninsula

Came for some fancy afternoon tea at The Peninsula in Beverly Hills. There were some pretty holiday decorations and a harpist playing when we went. Easy metered parking, but they do validate valet for convenience. The ambiance was impeccable, with stylish yet cozy decor, plush couches, and matching tea sets. Great service with knowledgeable and helpful staff. Beautifully plated sweets and savory treats. All expected for the price point. The scones are buttery and delicious when warm. There’s a diverse tea selection to choose from. Sandwiches are all pretty good, though some of the sweets were just too sweet. There is plenty to eat and sip during your 2 hour reservation, leftovers are packed very well. If you want to indulge in an elevated experience, The Living Room is a good choice.

Quite pricey, but easier to get into than the Huntington for Afternoon tea. At twice the price than Huntington, I’m not quite sure it’s totally worth it, but if you’re in the area and feeling like you need the luxury high tea, this is the place.

Beautiful location, food and tea selection! I added the bottomless Champagne option, which was totally worth it (as it was real French Champagne, not some sparkling wine). From the sandwiches to the scones, to the pastries, everything was delicious. The service was outstanding, and the hostess was kind enough to call me after we left, to let me know that I had dropped a ring on the couch. I would definitely go back!

I called and cancelled our reservation (my wife fell ill) at 1:30 pm without any kinds of problems. Our reservation was at 4 pm and around 5 pm to my surprise I was charged for my booking. I called back and now the cancelation was a problem and even the manager didn’t want to do anything about this situation. Total disrespect of customers.

Also, and this is the most important thing, this kind of behaviour by the restaurant encourages people to come to the restaurant when they are ill as they will charge you even if you cancel. In times like these this is of course totally unacceptable behaviour as they are helping out spreading diseases like covid to its customers. Again, a total disrespect of customers.

Don't tell any of my homies, but I'm like super into afternoon tea with little finger foods and champagne. So when I saw a Reddit post about The Living Room's afternoon tea service, I knew I needed to surprise the wife with a tea date.

First off I'll address seating--depending on where you're put it can be kinda awkward. We got one of the awkward seats behind a couch that had people sitting on it. So they're trying to take pictures of their tea service but we end up in the background of all the photos because we got the weirdo table (even though we arrived first for the last tea service for the day).

Next I'll cover tea and champagne. The champagne pricing for "endless" bubbles is kind of outrageous, in my opinion, especially considering how infrequently they come by to refill you. The tea list is very extensive, lots of interesting options, both the teas we tried, we enjoyed.

Now for the reason you're here: the food. There are definitely some really, really good bites of food here. But the dessert tier in particular was disappointing. My favorite tier was definitely the savory sandwiches, with the best bite being the pastrami. OMG if they would just give me an entire tower of the pastrami I'd be set lol.

Service was just OK. All in all we had a nice time, and there were definitely a few wow moments/bites, but for the price I expected a little more/better. Not sure I'd come back to this specific afternoon tea though ...

As a local and returning customer, I was surprised that the prices had increased while the quality and decreased. My server looked at his watch 5 times during the two times we ordered. The sandwiches hadn’t changed at all (for years) and the pastries looked tiny, and had even tinier flavor (except for the small chocolate cake). In fact, aside from the serving of lemon curd at the table, one of the pastries was clearly a premade, restaurant supply mini shell with the same awful lemon curd spooned inside! That and the odd pink square of sugar/rose water, smallest French macaroon ever and smaller scones, took me aback. Serving a glass of varying qualities of champagne at approx $90, I would have preferred to buy great Devonshire cream and put on the entire thing for way less than my $317 check (with tip) for 3 people. I won’t even begin talking about the centerpiece of pink carnation that had obviously passed its prime. Had to turn it to take this pic for my mom!

My mom and I enjoyed afternoon tea in the living room at the Peninsula on a weekday at noon. It was the only reservation available although there were plenty of open tables when we arrived. We were 25 minutes late and they still honored our reservation but like I said there were only about 4 other tables occupied. You can chose to sit on a couch or at a table in this really comfy and elegant living room and people watch everyone walking through the lobby of the hotel. The service was really in point always filling our glasses and asking if we needed anything. We got a glass or sparkling wine, scones, finger sandwiches and pastries and we were definitely full at the end. Be prepared to valet park and tea starts at $75 per person.

I made a reservation for High Tea to celebrate a friend's birthday. It is a little splurgey but worth every penny. Would definitely recommend for a special girls celebration. The service was amazing. Our tea cups were never empty. Everything was delicious. The atmosphere is gorgeous. There are three options to choose from, we all chose the traditional for our first time. The finger sandwiches were all tasty. My favorites were the salmon caper and the pesto brie. The assortment of desserts was also delicious, not too rich but perfect with tea! Even though everything was bite-sized, we were all full by the end and were even asked if we wanted anything boxed to go. Since we were celebrating a birthday, our server did bring out a little ice cream cake with a candle! The Living Room is straight ahead as soon as you walk in through the front door of the hotel. The hotel has valet parking, $10 with validation from The Living Room.

Gorgeous tearoom with nice views. Tea itself was forgettable. Bagged tea was served in teapots but tea strainers were on the table. Scones were served cold and were tasteless to boot. The price ($65) seems excessive for the low quality. Service was stellar though.

Attended a late afternoon tea at 5p on a Sunday. Menu selections are limited to 4 sets, all containing alcohol, with one option for non-alcoholic cider -- prices are high ranging from $60-75.

Finger sandwiches were really canapé appetizers in terms of size. Scones were small, but done well. Desserts were ok.

Honestly, I've had better afternoon tea in other cities in the US, Europe and Asia, but the chairs were really comfortable, service very attentive. The highlight of my visit was hearing live music played on a harp -- call ahead about the schedule.

Walkins allowed on a space available basis, but it's much better to call and make a reservation.

Enjoy their lovely afternoon tea topped off with a nice glass of rose champagne.
We made reservation for 2:30 tea, but the entire "living room" was not ready till 2:45pm. So keep that in mind, don't get too worried if you are late or stuck in traffic. You might actually still have to wait anyways.
The sandwiches and nibble deserts, I wouldn't say they are the best ever. But for what it is, it does off a wide range. But this one focuses more on the desserts. So the ratio for savories and sweets are about 30/70.
Great selections of tea as well, from black to white to green.
They gave each of us a cute little cake to take home. Dont get too excited. The cake tasted awful. :(
