Ace is truly a friendly place to shop for your home improvement and maintenance needs. Folks are incredibly genuinely helpful and love what they do. At other places, sales associates can’t be bothered, that is if you even manage to find someone to help. I love coming here for my projects!

Updated Review October 2024: They have updated this store, taken the cute decorations and all the personality mostly away, made the shelves so high and so close together it is claustrophobia city. They took our cute small city Ace Hardware and made it just another box store that charges too much. Previously I didn't mind paying more to support this store but now I am disappointed everytime I come in here and can't stand going down the aisles that are too high. I'm giving it 2 stars, not one because when you can find staff they are nice and helpful however, my observation is since their update they are way less staffed then before so good luck finding staff to help. I now either order online or go to another city for my needs.

Original review 2022: I just love this store. Everyone is friendly, knowledgeable and always ready to help. It has become my go-to for anything home, yard or motorhome remodel. Great little Dixon gem.

Probably the worst hardware store that I have been to in quite a while live here locally and it was great that I had a hardware store close by after coming to purchase paint last week. I was switched on brand of paint after it was mixed and the more expensive paint that covered less. me to come back to get not one but 2 gallons, but miraculously the paint department is now closed and no sign is available so it took 20 minutes to find associate to find out about the paint situation and when I expressed my concerns to Keegan, he was completely dismissive hands to the side leaning against the wall, I could understand your frustration complete dismissal. If you have the option, please go someplace else. Probably shouldn’t even be endorsed by this point not a client service that I received

They have a lot here. Pretty good hardware store. Only complaint is compared to the ace hardware in some other towns this has less sale items. Gotta love a bargain, pretty limited here.and not well marketed when it is on sale. Staff is always friendly and store is always clean.

Called and asked if they work on small engines. They said yes, payed a 30 fee to get them to work on it. Days turned to weeks, no response or update, called and they said they guy working on my equipment was out of town. weeks turned to months and still nothing. About 3 month later i decided to go pick it up they said the had found the issue but didn't repair it. Horrible experience and very little communication on the status of my equipment.

I will no longer take my business local. I purchase a drain pipe and had it cut but didn’t see a sign that I could not return. I even mentioned that if it doesn’t work, I will just return it and neither of 2 ace floor associates who helped me refer to a sign or corrected me that it wouldn’t be refundable before cutting. I’m sure 20 ft. of pipe is returnable.

I purchased a really expensive grill from this store. Later I received a coupon from ace rewards, when I returned to the store to use my rewards for some grill accessories, I was told they would not honor the coupon because I signed up for ace rewards in a different store. I’m kind of upset because I got the reward because I made a big purchase in that particular store.

The store will be undergoing remodeling, according to the salesperson. I was looking to buy shelf brackets, but they only had one rail so I asked the salesperson if they were going to order any more and he said "No"and there wasn't any more in the stock room. He said because of the upcoming remodeling, they weren't going to order any more and what they had on display is it.

Kinda hard to hang shelves on your wall when you only have one rail to support them.

I called the Dixon Ace Hardware Store the latter part of May 2023 and receive "Excellent" service from two of Ace Hardware employees. Frist I spoke with Brendan and he made sure that I talk with Clara in the garden areas. I must say Ms. Clara seen like an old friend and it was much appreciated especially now of days.
I would rate my experience a "5" STAR easily

John in the small engine repaire shop is the best. He knows his job and is good at it. He treets you with respect and honesty . Now days that is hard to find. I drove from sacramento to Dixon because no one in sac wanted to take the time to help me on a walk behind weed eater. It was worth the 30 mile drive to find someone that new what he was talking about and new how to fix the problem.

The employees are (without fail) knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Their prices are comparable to what I would expect to pay at a big box store, but the experience is so much better that I'd still go here even if they were higher.

Why have I not been here before? It was so worth the drive from Fairfield. I usually go to the Ace in Vacaville, also great with outstanding service, but this store is able to be more coherently organized because of the newer building.

We have done quite a bit of business here after our area was involved in one of CA's fire storms. They had the material we needed and also they have a man that repairs chain saws which we have used for 3 saws. This was important as we were clearing burned tree branches.

Very large store that is well stocked and has friendly and helpful service employees. Abundant surface parking with handicap parking fronting the entrance. Store is also handicap accessible. They even offer a military discount if you ask.

Generally pretty good. Look for the old guys with gray hair. The older staff really knows what's going on. The young kids are more engaged with their cell phones. The music is always incredibly loud which makes it really hard to concentrate when you're trying to figure out what you need to put together. I always end up forgetting things because the music is so darn loud and annoying.

Right now they have a great Christmas feel. Charming music, great gift buying section fun to look through. I bought the prettiest poinsettia I have ever seen; it looked watercolored. Staff was super friendly. They are doing a great job!

Great place for your Ace hardware needs. I went in to get a replacement battery for my remote car key, and the worker took the key and replaced it for me free of charge. I only paid for the battery. The screw on the key was a bit rusted so I couldn't get to it properly, but he did it and was very helpful. Thank you for your help!

My husband and I went in looking for a recessed light conversion kit. The staff went above and beyond to look for it and even though they didn't carry the item we needed we appreciated the outstanding service will definitely return.
