They carry all the latest popular titles, including books by authors like Michelle Obama, but at more affordable prices. Although I specifically visited the medicine collection, I was pleasantly surprised by its exceptional variety and quality. I grew up going to Half Price Books in South TX. It was so refreshing to walk into this store after having not visited an HPB in 10yrs. I went on a Friday morning for a mental health day. It was so nice. The books were organized, and there were so many options not just the current mainstream books. I was pleasantly surprised to find a book from one of my favorite authors. I genuinely had a nice time carefully selecting my next read.

Great bookstore! I've been bringing my kids here for books or board games for about 11 years now. They have a lot of variety, you can even find the latest releases. If it's not in store, they can check their other locations and have it shipped for free. Best of all, they have great prices.

Wonderful collection of books here available at half the MRP. My husband had been looking for a particular management book which didn't seem to be available anywhere. We asked the staff at this shop and he immediately found the book for us. I was impressed by his knowledge that I could figure out in just a few words he spoke.

They have a clearance section as well and other kinds of cute accesories. If you are looking to buy books, best to try this store before ordering online or elsewhere.

This place is a ripoff. I bought in a few board games, movies, books, and video games and only recived $20. One time I bought in 10 Diary of a Wimpy Kid books and only got $3. You are better selling your items somewhere else and getting more money. Would not recommend.

They have a wonderful selection. It’s really worth going.
However, making a return for a product that broke within seconds of buying took a long time. It should have been a quicker process instead they needed so much information for a 14.00 dollar return.
Overall, if you have the time, it is a nice book store.

A nice place to buy used books. Selling is a scam tho. I tried to sell some books and they offered me $3. I sold them on eBay a week later for $40. They resell books at half price but expect to buy yours for free!?

If you’re downsizing, this is the best place to unload books, cds, audio tapes, VHS tapes, even vinyl … they offer a very fair price for your entire collections , and it’s a wonderful place to browse for same! The staff is very friendly and patient, and are really great with their assessments of your precious pieces.. I highly recommend

Had to wait almost 2 hours. I had about 5 Korean Bibles. Very good shape. They gave me $2.00 for all of them. I was upset. The employee I had didn't seem to know what he was doing. He stood around talking most of the time. Didn't care I was waiting so long.

Today was my second attempt to sell some old books. First time the wait time was about an hour and thought of visiting later. Today, it was half an hour and I checked in. The staff who was supposed to price the books didn’t care about people’s time, and was more interested in conversations with other customers even after their business was done. The funny part was the conversation was about “customer service”. I know they are busy but can’t take for granted and need to respect people’s time.

I love books. I love movies. This store offers both, often at really good prices. This is a wonderful store to wander around. I rarely spend less than an hour each time I go. This trip, I actually had a list. While I only found one of the items, it was the one I wanted the most. Very happy!! 😊

This review is based solely on my own experience and hopefully seen as a constructive comment from a customer perspective.

They have tons of books and are reasonably priced. They also have DVDs and records - didn't venture out on those aisles so didn't get to see their prices. They buy books and I think DVDs. For children's books - they have picture books, pop up, fiction and nonfiction. They have early reader books (PreK, TK, Etc). Please visit their website to get more ideas about the store or better yet, visit the store. Please support the half price book as a way to help the environment also.

I primarily came to this place for half priced board games. I wish there was a catalogue of what they've decided to keep in this section because I found 5-6 copies of Scattergories and 2-3 copies of Bibleopoly. It's not the most exciting selection compared to Berkeley's location.

I rather enjoy the in state transfer. So if any store in California has the book you are looking for, the store can transfer it to your store and they call or text when it arrives. The transfer is no cost at all. How cool.

This is definitely a store you should check out. No need to Amazon your books better to support local stores and small chains.

Just want to write a review for the book buyer attendants -- you all are very patient, and professional and I always love the energy in the store. I was into helping my partner sell four or five boxes of materials and knew it was a hefty order. They mentioned a few people ahead, and about a 45 minute wait. I had no where to be. Of course I found myself a couple textbooks to help me study, and picked them up cheap at $10 a copy.

Really, there's two parts of this. I was in the store for over two hours. I did get $168 dollars. Worth it!

When I came up once and asked the status of the process, I mentioned my afternoon was free but my beloved dog was home alone and I hate leaving him crated for long (even though he's fine and really doesn't care if he's in there.) Mary at the buyback counter was exceptionally nice, complimented me/my partner's selection of items, and mentioned the store is pet friendly *to well behaved animals* and I was welcome to bring my boy with me next time I come in.

I know that'll be soon, and Rinzlr is excited to meet you, Mary (and rest of staff!) All of your energies are infectious and amazing. You folks handled a major Karen who was hovering over you while you processed her order after it wasn't 30 minutes on the dot. She was quite rude, and you all handled it with grace.

Huge selection....as always you need to plan ahead with ample time... unless you know what you are looking for.
Staff is courteous and very helpful.
I asked for a book....which they didn't have... they ordered it for me from there Texas store for even less Price.
Books are nicely organized with subjects and alphabet order.
Some old books in mint condition...each book is tagged with Price.

Parking is not well designed...so be careful.

Worth a visit...it's next to Wendy's and a discount shoe store, Marshall and Ross. On the opposite side is Daiso...and Ranch 99 and Jamba juice...
