PADERIA. A MODERN, GLOBALLY-INSPIRED BAKEHOUSE.
I bought a $40 e gift card 2 hours before I arrived- but when I got there they said their system was broken for a few days and could not process my e gift card-no cash - BUT credit card was fine. And said they could not refund my e gift card- I am visiting from Texas and am leaving in 2days. Egg tart crust is very flaky. Egg tart part not as firm as I would like. Nutella Malasada didn’t take like Nutella at all- bread part was fine.

Paderia in Fountain Valley was a surprise to find, as I was looking for a new coffee spot to try in the area. I was pleasantly surprised that they offered Malasadas almost as fresh and tasty as those I go back to Maui for again and again. The banana pudding and Portugese Egg Tart are also a must-try along with any of their coffee items. I ordered the Mazapan iced coffee, and it was smooth and flavorful, but most importantly, not overly sweet. I will come back to try other menu items that struck my interest. The staff is friendly and makes your order feel special!

Cute little cookie shop, the cookies are delicious, and huge, although I highly recommend this place, I also highly recommend placing your order online, as they sell out fast of their items unless you're ok with waiting for fresh cookies to come out. But there's no guarantee you'll get the ones you want, as they may be fully sold out for the day. But other than that, really good cookies all around, the salted caramel and triple chocolate became my favorite. And the matcha cheesecake was delicious, super creamy.

Confession... I’m absolutely addicted to their cookies and I hardly eat cookies! My go to flavors are chocolate walnuts and triple chocolate. I’ve been driving out here just to stock them in my fridge for later. That’s an hour drive and I’d think I’m crazy too if I hadn’t taken the first bite! Each cookie is $4 but it’s a good size (6oz). They are like cookie mounds. It’s crispy on the outside and doughy on the inside. Not exactly undercooked but the texture is buttery and soft almost like a chewy brownie. It has a lot of butter but who cares! It’s compared to Levain bakery a lot. However, I actually prefer Paderia more! I like them especially when they are freshly toasted! (I keep them in individual zip lock bags and microwave them for 20-30 seconds before popping them into the toaster oven for 5 minutes. I’m very extra ... I am aware! Lol)
I’ve also tried their Portuguese egg tarts and masalada. The egg tarts have a very flaky shell and the custard is rich and creamy. It’s alot thicker than most asian egg tarts, almost like a creme brûlée custard. Their masalada has many filling options. The dough is very airy and sells out in hours!
If it’s your first time, definitely check the store hours! You can call to check availability or preorder 3 days in advance if you’re planning to stop by! I’m hoping to see them expand closer to LA!

I don’t get the big deal about this place. Their pastries are mediocre at best and selection is limited. My experience with the service is, I felt like I was bothering the lady behind the counter as she processed my order for a cookie & donut-type pastry. It’s also overpriced for what it is and I’m guessing it ain’t bc they’re paying their employees living wage (thought hopefully I’m wrong on that one)

I recently had the pleasure of trying the banana pudding at Paderia, and I have to say it was absolutely amazing! The creamy vanilla pudding was the perfect complement to the sliced bananas, and the generous layer of fluffy whipped cream on top was the cherry on the cake.
What really sets Paderia's banana pudding apart is the attention to detail and quality ingredients used. Every bite was filled with the perfect amount of swetness and the bananas were fresh and perfectly ripe.
As someone who has had their fair share of banana pudding, I can confidently say that this is one of the best I've ever had. The portion size was also very generous, making it perfect for sharing or even indulging in all by yourself (keep it that way LOL)
Overall, I highly recommend Paderia's banana pudding to anyone who loves this classic dessert. It's simply irresistible and a must-try for any foodie... :-)

At the beginning everything was good. Friendly staff and helpful chat impressed me most. I am always grateful of their support and help. I am a loyal customer of their bakeryhouse and do believe it is a great store expresses warmth. Due to my personal difficulties, I can not pick up by myself. For most of times, I ordered on Ubereats by using my roommate’s account since mine does not work well. There are several times, I paid a driver helping me to pick up. It seems like that action violates their policy. I apologize for that. After that happened several times before I realized that it was something they could not stand for, one of their male managers unilaterally “informed” me they would not provide any service to me in any term. They cancelled the orders whenever they saw on their official website or Ubereats. I know I probably should not pay a driver to help to pick up. That is my fault, I admit. However, the male manager of FV does not offer any chance to discuss and they even cancel the order of my friend’s and roommate’s.
When I emailed the support team, asking for a reason, they told me they did not know anything specific. The only thing they knew was that the FV told them it was hard to complete my order. I do have some special requests, such as “please help to warm tarts; please help to replace the coffee to a cup of froth” . I know it can be annoyed but they are not something complicated or time-consuming. As for me, those are just excuses.
My concern of the whole thing is that you can point out where I do wrong. If it is the fact, I can admit and correct it. Of course, they reserve their right to not to provide service to any customers. I can accept it. If it is my fault, I can apologize, accept and understand their decision. However, the male manager just let me ask the reason by sending email to the support team and unilaterally decided how to do it without any proper discussion or honest explanation, which makes me feel I am not respected.
I feel sorry for them and do feel a malicious discrimination. The other store in Irvine and the support team staff are all friendly and helpful. I do not know why the FV goes against me like that. Do feel extremely uncomfortable and offended.

Hawaii ( malasadas) Philippines (ensaymada and ube cheesecake) Portugal (origin of egg tarts) and Vietnam (coffee) all in one place!Nothing beats traveling to all those places to get a taste of those authentic treats, but it's as close as you can get here in California. I will be back! Thank you!

Service was outstanding. They normally sell out so order ahead to ensure they have what you want when you get there. I was worried about the note on the confirmation after I ordered online that states that the order will be filled when I get there to ensure freshness. There was a lady waiting for her order that had to choose alternate items because they only had 3 of the 6 flavors she ordered when she got there; which happened to be what I ordered. However, when I asked for my order, they had set aside the items for me so I did not have to choose alternate items.
The cookies are amazing but slightly overpriced. Everything is good here but I'm a cookie fiend.

I'm on the fence here.
The egg tart was good. Not mind-blowing but good.
Tried three cookies. Two were ok. The chocolate peanut butter was my favorite and I don't really care for peanut butter usually so I was surprised.
I haven't tried anything else to really review it.
I hate the hours though. Since they close the latest of 2pm I never remember or get over here in time since they've been open. I may try it again if I can make it during their limited hours.

Everything tasted pretty regular to me. The Portuguese egg tarts tasted like Chinese egg tarts but with a thicker puff pastry crust. They do have seasonal malasadas flavors, so I got the passion fruit filled one and that was delicious. I did like this place because everything wasn’t overly sweet so you can eat a lot of it. The matcha horchata was incredible! A must try!

The chocolate walnut cookies are my favorite cookies in the entire world, and the warmth and melted chocolate from the cookie when it's fresh is HEAVEN. I am so thankful that the cookie is so big because it's sooooo good and I savor ever bite. I've tried all the other cookies, but my go to is definitely chocolate walnut.
The malasadas are also good and I think it's a decent size! My favorite is just the vanilla cream (not sure) one, but they're all so good!
The egg tarts here are SO GOOD. The best egg tarts I've ever had for sure!!! I'm not even a fan of egg tarts to be honest, but these are so good and I actually crave them. My mom is obsessed with these and we just pop them into the airfryer a bit to heat it up and it's so good.
I havent had the banana cream pudding in a while because I'm too obsessed with the cookie and egg tarts, so i have no room for it. But I remember it being super good! I also just tried the drinks as well which I really enjoyed.
Also, everyone here is SO nice. 10/10 would recommend!

Very nice Portuguese bakery. The choices are limited but solid. The doughnuts are not oily and not sweet which makes them very good but they don't make me change my mind about donuts. The award winning cookies have a very think center making them almost a cone versus flat round. The batter is crunchy and we'll baked. The inside is full with soft melted chocolate with different level of darkness or the lack of it. Everything is good about but contrary to the other items it is too sweet. Half of the sugar need to be removed from the recipe. As for the pastel de nata, they are very good but far from the best ones I've tried even in Brazil. The custard cream is a bit liquidy and the crust too crunchy braking at places in the hand. Perfect sweetness level. Coffee beans need to be improved as well.

Hello So Cal Googlers!
If you're on a mission for Malasadas as we were today. I'm sorry to report that this is not the place. Paderia Bakehouse is a beautiful boutique like bakery featuring a wall of fame displaying heavy Social media presence, the cliche golden culinary utensils in an artful mobile display that greets you with the intent that you're in for an elevated culinary take on cuisine "curated," from around the world. Sadly that wasn't the case. The best Malasadas as a rule are variants of a traditional Portugese donut. Komodas of Maui and Leonard's of Oahu are the most famous representations of Malasadas to date. Paderia's taste is far too bland and the mouthfeel is too gummy to be called a true Malasada. It should be able to stand alone in its plain form with just a simple dusting of sugar as I ordered today (I'm a purist. If you need to add a filling then you have a substandard product). Luckily they offer a variety of fillings to distract from the actual donut. Overall a lovely spot, the cookies I didn't try are probably great, but as an island boy looking for a taste of home I was greatly disappointed.
