I didn't expect to like this place as much as I did. The first thing I noticed is they didn't seem to have a large selection because I didn't see amy ice cream. The menu was full of items, so I picked one that sounded good. They started with the basic ingredients and froze them right in front of me. The cloud filled the area, which was unexpected and cool. Then I LOVED the ice cream. The people were friendly and I totally recommend this place.

This place is absolutely amazing with great customer service, but I think it’s absolutely awful. They do not receive their tips. The managers get the tips not the employees. Be careful tipping at this Location I really suggest that they change this policy immediately and should split this tips with the staff. I visit this location a few weeks ago

I went to the Creamistry in the 1st location near Alhambra when I was studying in Cal State LA in 2017 / 2018... Fast forward to now, I wanted to take my 6 yrs old there but didn't want to drive almost 2 hrs for ice cream, then got so excited that they're opening up in Noho West. Now she loves this place ❤️

Drove all the way over here to get my birthday ice cream and was told I can't get it because the iPad for rewards was broken. There is only one in LA and I had no other reason to be over here. Sad.

This is the creamiest ice cream that I have ever had. The cream, sugar, and flavors are mixed in a container, then supercooled by the direct application of liquid nitrogen.
Before our movie across the street at the Regal Theater (we saw 'Wild Robot'), we decided on an Affogato (Espresso, Madagascar Vanilla Ice Cream, Whipped Cream, and Mini Chocolate Chips). The liquid nitrogen fog fills the air.
The Creamistry was a delicious choice.

I swear this place is the worse ice cream experience ever. This store is run by the worse dimwits for employees. I came once several weeks ago and had to wait 35 mins for one order. Went again today after ordering online pickup and another fiasco. This place is a scam!! Their store front by DoorDash ordering for pickup charged me 16$ for an affogato whereas the store price is 9$. Employees are completely unaware how to package the items for to go. And the dimwit employee wants to talk to the same person on the phone who placed the order. Like excuse me? Have you never had someone pickup someone’s order on their behalf? And then the confusion about how to pack it. And then despite showing the order confirmation wants us to confirm on DoorDash app which I didn’t order through. I don’t know why there is a hype about this place but the chocolate combustion icecream I tried last time wasn’t that great and neither was the affogato. This place owes me 32$ and 45 mins worth of my time that I wasted. Plus the disappointment of having terrible customer service and not even getting my cravings satisfied. End up leaving furious from this place everytime! 🤬😡

By far my most favorite ice cream place in North Hollywood! I come here so often I'm starting to think the staff recognize me. Everything on the menu is delicious as they make it on demand. They use a cool freezing technique with nitrogen that creates an unexpected creamy dessert. I want to really say that the staff is exceptional here and a great reason why I keep coming back!

We were waiting to see Godzilla x Kong at the Regal theater and it was a pretty long wait. Walking around, we noticed Creamistry and decided to check them out. My 1st turn off was when the guy at the counter suddenly turned and walked to the back as soon as I approached him. How rude, I thought. A couple of minutes later, a young lady approached and took our orders. Despite her totally unprofessional co-worker, she was very polite and friendly. The orders were paid for and the wait was not long. Everything seemed fresh, especially the fruits. The ice cream was awesome. When we were done and leaving, I asked the young lady who had helped earlier more about that company because I've never heard of them. Not to seem rude or complicated but I simply asked how were they different from other ice cream companies and she explained completely and in a polite fashion, as her coworkers looked on. Unfortunately, I no longer live in that area anymore but I do train a block away from them. So I am sure that I will return soon.

Let’s start with the good thing… delicious fresh ace cream, and the dry ice show is worth the trip. On the other hand, They could use a little smile, I think… lots of kids going there and it was intimidating to see them very serious like they were forced to work there or perhaps they were having a bad day. I don’t remember the first time cuz I was in a hurry but the second trip there had more memories.

Super yummy + dense ice cream.

I got the regular captain crunch ice cream and it was suuuuper good. Since it's made with nitrogen, there is virtually no air bubble within the ice cream, resulting in a super dense and creamy taste. The total was around $10 which yes, is pricy but it does require extra work to make the ice cream. It's worth it occasionally and yummy to treat yourself with!

I got an oat based captain crunch- super dairy free friendly since you can combine with different requests.

Service was super nice and if it's your first time, you'll like the mini show it comes with. There are lots of seats to eat inside :)

I'm not sure what the deal is. My friends and I wanted ice cream and this came up as something new in the area. It looks like they use liquid nitrogen to freeze the ice cream as they are making it (I found this out online, there isn't an explanation in the store that I could see). The ice cream was very good and very dense, but it takes a while to make (even when there's no one else in the store) and the staff don't care. It would have been very helpful if a staff member had invested some time in engaging us and sharing why the place is special. The prices are also special. I understand now that the process is very expensive, but at the time I thought it was just regular ice cream.

If you like really dense and creamy ice cream, there's nothing better than nitrogen ice cream. The nitrogen helps to freeze the cream instantaneously so there are no ice crystals. Unfortunately, there aren't that many places that do nitrogen ice cream. Most have closed down but Creamistry still has a few locations. This one in NoHo has a great staff. The best ice cream in L.A. Super rich and creamy, full of flavor, mix in anything you want. Some of the best ones are Quantum Coffee, Vanilla with fresh strawberries and bananas and Dole Whip (even better than the one at Disneyland!)

What a disappointment. I went in with my kid on Saturday at noon, April 1st, 2023. there was ONE person ahead of us in line. It took about 20 mins to get the order (overpriced, $13 ice cream) and the order was wrong... The attendant tried to convince me that I ordered a "regular" but the price tag and receipt I had clearly said "large". Another 15 minutes go by, she offers us another regular size instead of the large we ordered. When I asked to just get what we ordered, the sales attendant swiftly returns my money and tells me to leave, a disappointed child by my side and all. Not even worth a star, rude and disappointing, bad customer service, no brained employee who doesn't understand her mission or how to do the job. Will not repeat, my child's satisfaction is way more important than this disgruntled employee and her bad day. Hopefully the mean lady who worked at the counter on April 1, 2023, gets fired as she deserves it and is hurting an otherwise ok brand.

It’s a similar experience to cold stone creamery. The main draw is the machine that dumps nitrogen onto the ice cream. The employee energy can be hit or miss. If they’re having a good day they can be interactive and show new comers what’s exciting about their ice cream. I’d imagine they ham it up for the kids. The captain crunch ice cream is really good probably the best flavor they have. I would definitely drop by for a small scoop if I was in the area. I don’t think it’s worth the drive just for ice cream if there is another shop closer.

Review №124

Let's start with the good: The way they make ice cream is SUPER cool... we're talking dry ice that creates a cloud that flows into the store that kids will think is the coolest thing ever! Also... (from what my part told me -more on that later) it is delicious!

The area is pretty cool too. There are fountains right outside and there are year-round Christmas style street lights overhead which makes it a really lovely place to visit.

So why the two stars? Two reason. First off... it's incredibly expensive. Ice cream for one adult and two children shouldn't be a $26 outing... even if there is dry ice. So plan for the price.

BUT... allow me to get to what really ruined my night and turned me off about this place: I'm on a diet that doesn't allow for sugar. Some places had sugar free ice creams and some don't... I get it, and while I wish they did, I don't blame places for not having a sugar free option. HOWEVER... since I KNOW that not all places have sugar free options, I was sure to call ahead of time. In fact... I decided I was REALLY craving ice cream and called around d to several places trying to find one with a sugar free option. I called and spoke to some at Creamistry who ASSURED me that they had a sugar free option. I actually ask, "Our you sure? Can you check to make sure?"... and then guaranteed me that they did. I live in Tarzana... so the drive wasn't awful, but a bit of a time investment... but it would have been worth it for the ice cream...

Alas... when we got there, the manager told me that in fact they didn't have any sugar free option... So frustration was flowing. Like seriously... what else is a guy to do other than CALL an establishment and have them DOUBLE CHECK to make sure they had what I needed?!?!?! I have my family of four already in there! What am I going to do? Tell my 2 and 7 year old we're NOT getting ice cream while standing in the middle of the store?

I felt cheated. Taken advantage of. I was forced into spending nearly $30 on ice cream... and I DIDN'T EVEN GET ANY ICE CREAM!!! I just had to sit there watching everyone else eat. I really wanted to give this place one star. Zero stars even if it were possible... But in reality, I think 2 covers it better since the other three had a good time. I just have a hard time giving more than one star to a place that couldn't even serve me.

They didn't even offer to comp one of the ($7) kids cups since they essentially lied to me and got me to drive out from Tarzana when I specifically called to check if they had something. Very uncaring.
