Had a really good birthday dinner here a few days ago with a couple friends. I haven't been in here in quite a while. The service was great The food was amazing and the contemporary fun music they played wasn't too loud and we can talk. I had the filet medium rare it was perfectl. Sauteed spinach with garlic was very good. And the dirty martini definitely hit the spot. I know this place has been here for quite a while and maybe they've done some updates but I really had a good time and like the place. I think you should come by sit at the bar for a drink maybe a meal or make some reservations with friends or even a party. They do have valet parking for a dollars, or there is plenty of street parking around. Cheers

First time here last night and I had a great experience! Wonderful atmosphere with excellent food and drinks.

All the staff was very attentive and professional including Jackie and Sharon.

I had the french onion soup which was delicious and then had the prime rib dip sandwich and this may have been the best I've ever had! Fresh sliced prime rib meat on an amazing roll was so satisfying and enjoyable. Drinks were tasty and strong.

Can't wait to go back and although it's not inexpensive, it was worth every penny! If you're looking for a nice dinner spot where they'll treat you like family there's none better, just go. Monday night football last night also made it more lowkey and super fun!

This is an old classic and we’ve been there many times. However, I finally decided to give a review because the dinner we had was so good! I think the pictures speak for themselves but the burrata filet was out of this world !! And the bread pudding should not be legal😳😋😍 We sit at the bar at most of our dinners and the bar does not disappoint 🍸🎉

Ended up here for new year eve drinks, and from the moment we stepped in the door the staff was AMAZING!!!
super friendly, great bar staff and the DJ kept the place going with great music.. Absolutely amazing new years party with a Ballon drop at midnight and great vibes.. It was the best way to say hello to 2025!!!
We will be back for more dinner and drinks and will not miss next year's new year eve party!!

First time here last night and I had a great experience! Wonderful atmosphere with excellent food and drinks.

All the staff was very attentive and professional including Jackie and Sharon.

The most abysmal rack of ribs I've ever had at one of highest prices, they were made with all the love of a green card marriage. I could actually taste the resentment. The staff matched the tone; scathing, hand-waving arguments between the waiters right in full view. A very unpleasant experience that I paid far too much for.

For all the hype, this place was truly disappointing. It was my wife and I’s anniversary so we wanted to go somewhere special. We walked in and the atmosphere was ok although I couldn’t see why anyone would want tv’s with sports playing in a classy establishment. The server was nice but when the food came it was actually horrid. It was very amateur and felt like either the chefs haven’t been other places in 50 years and seen the quality out there; or that they have only just started cooking. Either way the Brussels' Sprouts were deep fried and nasty and the rest of the food was sub par. All of this at a premium price. Quite arrogant and delusional I think. Needs to be said so they can change it up, or if someone is wanting a nice celebratory meal look elsewhere. Others we spoke to after have had a similar experience although the place had been recommended.

Came here for dinner and had a great time. Make reservations as it gets packed. The service was beyond excellent. From the valet, to the reception area and our waiting staff. You're definitely gonna be taken care of here. The food was delicious. My favorite was the mango and spinach salad and I also enjoyed the filet mignon. Dessert was heavenly. We had the creme burlee and the bread pudding.

Very noisy and way over priced, a small dinner salad of plain iceberg lettuce and a few croutons $18. Have gone there for years with our family for every celebration. Just went for our anniversary food was just okay. For the inflated prices should have been a lot better. Made reservations a month before asked for a booth was given a table right next to bar couldn’t hear or talk the noise was deafening. Told that was our only choice. I ordered the burrata filet and it was absolutely terrible. Not every menu item lands with everyone, so that wasn't the problem. The problem was the manager's response. I had asked the waitress to take the plate away and provide a new clean plate so I could enjoy the sides we ordered. She took the plate and the manager came over. He asked if he could replace it with anything and when I politely declined, he turned his nose up at my and walked away angrily before I even finished speaking. He then glared at me the rest of the night. Like I said, some dishes don't land and that's okay, but I have no idea what's wrong with this jerk's fragile little ego. And, as an aside, this place hides their B rating so you can’t see it. Definitely not returning to this place.

I have been a patron of Monty’s since the 90’s when the other Westwood haunt was around. I miss everything about Monty’s WW. I have been going to WH for decades now. I have to say, my last visit was less than stellar and now, I’m disappointed. I feel like it’s lost it’s specialness. I remember huge baked potatoes, huge Australian Lobster tails, delicious salads, amazing warm bread, awesome waiters that would make your dinner custom, no questions asked, good music. That’s gone. It’s an ok place to have a nice meal, but what it USED to be, gone. So sad. It was my favorite birthday dinner because it was like a hair dresser that never does you wrong. Totally dependable. When you drop over $400 on a meal, you want to leave knowing it was worth it. I don’t know what happened, but crispy fries under the lobster? What in the actual hell is that? And who decided it was a good idea? And why can’t I sub it out for a baked potato? Officially looking for a new birthday lobster dining experience.. no one say Mastro’s. Monty’s was the shizz back in the day. I’m glad I got to experience it. Now, my kids think it’s just like a regular place to go. No special anything. Crying.

Met with two friends here for a "thank you" dinner. The reservation was quick via OpenTable (same day). The location was easy to find and had no issue with street parking, however there is a valet service available.

The hostess sat us as we arrived and the waitress took our drink/app orders while we trickled in. Once we were all present, she presented us with a delicious specials menu. The food and drinks came out very promptly and the waitress was quick to check in to ensure we were all satisfied. I had a bone-in filet that was cooked to my specifications with monstrous onion rings on the side. The Manhattan I ordered was also delicious. Lastly, the NY Cheesecake really hit the spot.

Overall, I highly recommend checking Monty's for good food and drink with family/friends. The service was great and the atmosphere was relaxed.

I have debated for quite a while about writing this review-5 months to be exact-for the reason that Monty's used to be our
go-to place in Woodland Hills.

So,on 19th of May, without hesitation, we made a reservation to celebrate our friend's bday {now l wonder if we had to find out first what temper Ms.Vicki was in, before we decided to make the reservation}.

We were all in good spirits, but the
moment we sat at our table we sensed a distinct lack of enthusiasm..

Ms.Vicki - our server- a hard-faced, never smiled, beyond snobby, unhelpful lady, made us feel unwelcome.

We let her insufferably rude behavior pass because we didn't want her to ruin our friend's special day, even when she cleared before we had finished eating, even when
she brought the check without letting us order desserts !!! (she knew about the bday celebration).

In other words she kicked us out!!!

I decided to write this review because everyday l pass by l recall that nightmare and l wanted to be honest!

O. M. G. Amazing food, excellent service by Rob. The Prime Rib Eye was to die for… tender, flavorful and juicy. Cooked to perfection. The sides were great, the corn was bomb. Sea-bass melts in your mouth. And lastly the Penne Bolognese was super. Highly recommended, definitely a place to celebrate, not for the faint of heart for your wallet. Totally worth it.

If you get there super early and ask really nicely, they might make you the best steak tartare ever. Ask for a small bit of horseradish on the side. Also, the Cantaloupe Martini is magnificent.

Excellent steaks and rack of lamb. Expensive but they deliver a rare experience ( or if you want your experience well done, that can be accomplished, too). Things are a la carte , so be aware that you may want a side dish or two...their Brussels sprouts and sauteed spinach are excellent. If you are at the bar and want something less substantial, the steak and eggs is delicious. Happy hour here is a well attended event, a mixed crowd but skewed toward older. The owner almost always in attendance, assuring good service. Recommended. I'd steak my reputation on it.

The crab legs are to die for. The shrimp Monty is a must try. The Steaks are prime cuts. Good wine list, Champagne, full bar. The family has always prepared the highest quality foods. Although the Woodland Hills restaurant is elegant, I do miss the old Encino location. Spendy but worth it! One of my all time favorite dining establishments. A quiet romantic night can be enjoyed at Monty's.

I had dinner reservations for Thursday January 12th to dine in the restaurant to celebrate My 51st Birthday! This is a one star upgrade from the last visit of 10 months ago! I had to move from the dining room because here we go again with the same situation of the lights flickering crazy! I told my server Brittney that I would not be able to enjoy my birthday dinner with the lights constantly flickering! I should have walked out and never came back! Brittney moved me to the high chairs of the bar area and I saw the whole area of the restaurant having the same issues with the lighting situation! At one point the whole restaurant was dark for a few minutes! I am not a fan of sitting in the bar area! I enjoyed the bread with the relish. I had the potato latkes with sour cream and applesauce for my starter. It was good even though I have not had it in many years! I also had the peppered salmon prepared without the pepper that came with mashed potatoes and vegetables. It would have been nice to have tartar sauce for the fish so I used the bread relish instead to put on my fish and it was good. I told my server Brittney that I was celebrating My 51st Birthday and I decided to get the New Orleans Bread Pudding for dessert with a surprise $12.00 birthday dessert on my bill! At least Brittney gave me a candle and wished me a Happy Birthday! She also mentioned to me when she lighted the candle on my bread pudding that she almost burned her hand with the lighter! The bread pudding was good for my dessert as I had it before. I know that I was not the only one complaining about the lights flickering situation! Do yourself a giant favor for your loyal guests and get a Electrician to fix your lights!

We went to Montys Steakhouse to celebrate a birthday recently in Woodland Hills. I never got the chance to go while it was in Westwood so this was long overdue. Easy to find and close to the 101 Freeway. The atmosphere is very nice and feels like it's still in the 1960s with decor and great music playing. Food quality is excellent as was the service. Everything was top notch including Cocktails. We had Steaks, Lamb Chops, Chile, Au Gratin Potatoes, Shrimp Cocktail, French Onion Soup, and Fudge Sundae. The menu is loaded with other great items as well. Had a wonderful time. Parking is available on the street and Valet. I will definitely come back again. Highly recommended.

Our server was excellent and food was pretty good, but it was hard to enjoy the meal because it was hot, the fans didn’t work, and we were being eaten alive by mosquitos. We sat outside to reduce risk of exposure to Covid, and I was surprised that they didn’t have better ways to handle the heat and bugs. A couple floor level fans probably would’ve helped a lot, but they didn’t have any way to help us except to bring rosemary to the table as a deterrent (didn’t work). I figured since they have been open during the pandemic and built out a beautiful outdoor space, they would also have some simple ways to reduce these types of issues. We ate quick and rushed out as quickly as we could, which isn’t exactly the type of evening I was hoping for.

I have lived in Woodland Hills for 7 years and never went to Monty’s. I regret this because the experience was literally…. Fantastic!!!!
Wife Bday, we took the 2 kids and let me tell you I now know that this will be a place that our family will be going to from now on. Bone in Rib-eye, Bacon wrapped shrimp ( Monty’s Special ) Lamb shanks, and Sole….. Best Place in the Valley to eat….👍

So I really hate to do this but here we go....

We will start with the food.
We ordered over 400$ in food my wifes filet was under cooked my sons filet was over cooked and both lacked flavor not a good starting point but let me back up calamari was delicious but a bit rubbery other side were excellent no complaints there but it was mash and onion rings. Fried pickles were some of the best I ever had I highly suggest.

Service
Waiter was pleasant and enjoyed our conversation but when I pay over 400$ for a meal I don't expect to brush bread clubs off my own table I want someone to do it for me. Bus boys or whatever they call the guys putting away your leftovers was rude and made me feel like I was in the wrong for wanting to take some of my expensive food home to enjoy late grade d-.

Restaurant ambiance
A trip back to my childhood I'm in my late 40s, but I loved it elegant and tasteful I would def go back for drinks with my wife and or friends

Drinks
Absolutely delicious and delightful my reason for saying I would go back for drinks but again a bit on the expensive side

Overall
I probably would not go back for dinner my experience lacked other high-end restaurants that I paid less to eat at so I would not recommend unfortunately a friend did warn me but he said he hasn't visited in several years I was hoping to give him a better review to go back as we love to support local restaurants especially ones like this that have a great back story... if you don't know Google it and maybe try it for yourself maybe you will have a better experience

Now this place is like bring in an old Italian movie, awesome atmosphere, great, great, great service.

Venerable old school steak and chop house. Bar with complimentary appetizers. Live rock n roll. Everything is top of the line. You pay for it of course. But it doesn't get better. Someday I'll try the shrimp. But I always get the Prime Rib or New York. Five star everything. I look forward to the day we can move back inside and leave the big tent. It was nice and all, about as nice as you can make a tent. But it's still a tent.

Best steak and sides in town. This is a classic steakhouse. Sadly open for dinner only. Great covered outdoor setup, but you should experience the indoor dining.

Wonderful place for authentic Persian food with very proactive staff and service. Went with a family group and it was like a dinner among a home gathering. You won't be disappointed and end up being your go to place Persian Yum.

A Valley perennial favorite. Have not visited in quite some time and was glad to see their High Standards have not slipped. Great quality and very impressed that the owner is on premises to greet guests. All the servers are passionate and knowledgeable and we have a great experience. The steaks are excellent and the prices are fair for a steak house. Also great menu for glutten free and non meat eaters. And the sides are terrific as well. Congratulations to the management and staff that make this a consistent Valley stop!

Total waste of time & money! Took over 1 hr to get my appetizers let alone anything to drink. Food came out 2 hrs later..spent a total of 4 hrs there for my entire evening. 1hr for drinks 1 hr for appetizers 1 hr for my food and 1 hr for my bill! Only gets 1 for the valet. Great service 👏🏽. Besides that ordered my steak medium rare...came out well done..just horrible slow service.....Total disappointment
