My review is for buying furniture at Big Lots. If I could give them negative stars I would. Do not ever buy here. The company does not back up its products. And never ever buy the extended protection plan there. The protection plan company makes up every excuse to avoid honoring the plan.

I bought a Broyhill leather reclining sofa in Sept. 2021 and the protection plan. In Oct. 2022, the sofa starting tearing and peeling. I have been fighting with both Big Lots and Allstate Protection Plans (administered by Square Trade) to get it repaired or replaced.

Until I reported them to the Better Business Bureau 2 days ago, they refused to do anything. Last night, I finally got a call from Square Trade as to this issue because of my BBB complaint. It's taken 10 months to hear from them!!!

They refuse to send a technician over to fix it but offered me to get an estimate as to repair costs. They have offered me $200 towards the repair. That's not honoring the protection plan.

They should be fixing this problem no matter the cost as I bought the extended protection plan.

UPDATE: estimate to fix the sofa is $550 plus I have to bring it there. How am I going to do that?

I will never buy furniture again there or a Square Trade warranty.

Second update: after reporting Square Trade to the Better Business Bureau, I got a full refund for the price of the sofa. But I shouldn't have has to go through all that nonsense to do it.

I love Big Lots. They really have nice items at great prices. Make sure to join the rewards program its free. You earn points when you shop. They will send coupons via your email and cell phone.

I needed a vaccuum same day and saw they had online ordering and had one available for pickup that same day. so i purchased it online and waited for my email. once i got the email that the order was ready, i went to the store. there was a rather large line for the registers, but i figured they had a seperate area for online pickup. they don't. i had to stand in that long a** line for about 20+mins just to be handed an item i paid for hours earlier. you guys need to do better. i think almost every other store has a pick up area separate from normal register area. what is the point of me prepaying if there is absolutely no time benefit for me in doing so?? never again.

Big Lots – North Haven – 8/28/2016

This was my first time to a Big Lots store. They have quite a diverse offering of products. I found the staff here to be professional and courteous. We were approached immediately and asked if we needed help.

Items nicely laid out and pricing seemed competitive with the other big stores. We’ll be back.

Big Lots is always a store of discovery.
From a simple everyday item. To something a little different.
Furniture quality, food items, etc. Have a unique flare.
Their team is never to busy to welcome you to the store or assist in locating a product. They will stop what they are doing. Not just tell you and point.
I have been shopping here for almost six years.

Store is very organized and plenty of Associates to tell you where things are only complaint I have is that if you want something from the store you better remember what is in the store if you call the associates calling might not give you the right answer

Shopping Big Lots is always pleasant. It is a franchise that delivers as expected. Prices are good and I recommend Progressive Leasing for larger purchases. My wife and I have used Progressive Leasing for 5 large purchases and have paid 4 of them off. Easy payment plans.

Good deals here, they also have an awesome furniture selection. We are planning on buying a couch from here soon since we just moved to the area. We got all the basics for our place from here and it was hundreds less then I expected. I love this store.
