I've eaten at the Atlanta location multiple times and the food was always delicious.

Friend suggested we experience this location, because it had been awhile.

I ordered the smoked wings with a waffle, and egg scrambled light.
The wings tasted dry, and the eggs were scrambled hard.

I don’t know. This place just wasn’t for me. Too “healthy” I guess. It’s like if a real chef took over your corner, greasy-spoon, diner.

I can’t say anything I had was “bad”. It just isn’t for me. The pancake I had was odd. The biscuit is made out of buckwheat or something. The potatoes were cut up potatoes, not hash browns etc.

I’m sure if you’re into all that healthier stuff this place would be GREAT. It’s just not for me.

The location is weird. It’s in a strip mall. Google had a little trouble getting me to it. The sign isn’t very big.

The place has lots of seating. Even outside with a little patio out front. Dining counter seating was also available. The place is clean and the service was fast and friendly.

Honestly, I liked everything about this place except the food just isn’t for me. It MAY be for you, so come check it out and make up your own mind based on your tastes.

And you might eat a healthier breakfast and you were planning to. :)

Let's be honest, this food is meh, nothing you can't make better at home, but then you would have to cook. The Douglasville location has better food and service than the Austell location, and if you are looking for a diner atmosphere, this place delivers.

I had a very disappointing experience with this restaurant. I placed an order through DoorDash and arrived 45 minutes later to pick it up, only to find that my order wasn't ready. The staff explained that their DoorDash system was down, which caused the delay. Unfortunately, it took another 40 minutes for them to prepare my order after that. Overall, the service was incredibly slow, and I was left frustrated by the lack of urgency. I won’t be returning, and I won’t be recommending this place to others.

They move extremely slow and other workers refused to help and assist the lady working the register. We waited more than 30 minutes for a takeout order that was placed and to find out their system was down.

No sense of urgency, professionalism, or care to earn our business. We will never return here again and would rather drive further out and receive better service.

Arrived and was seated immediately. Staff was nice. Good menu with many options but we ended up leaving because there were roaches.

Longer story:
Years ago, I tried the East Point (or down that way) location and the experience was nice, but my food was just ok. It wasn't bad and other people seemed to be enjoying the same order, but it wasn't my preference. The rest of my party enjoyed the food. I never went back because I enjoyed other places more. Years later, I learned about the location in Douglasville and was really hoping it would be my redemption experience and I'd have a diner to visit that's closer to me. As I stated above, I never ordered the food. I'm a bit disappointed because everyone talks about how they enjoyed their experience. Beyond the sanitation issue, I'm allergic to roaches and insects venom and roaches trigger my asthma so I won't be dining here.

On an anniversary trip to Atlanta, my husband and I stopped into this quaint diner and the food was to die for! People rarely cook bacon crispy enough for me, but they nailed it! The flavors of the meats were amazing and the potatoes with cheese are fantastic as well. The biscuits are whole grain, but SO yummy. We will be back any time we are passing by!

Went to grab breakfast with my husband this morning. We were greeted right away and the server came right over. First “ew” moment was when I received my water, there was something black floating around. I was trying to wait to ask my server to get me a new cup of water because… things happen (no big deal). Then about a minute later is see an pretty good size (at least 1.5 inches long) roach crawling on the booth wall right next to my face 😩🥴 I jumped so quick and just politely asked my husband to tell our server we were leaving.

Another worker killed the roach and our server saw it. I kind of felt bad because they were all nice, but I can’t eat with things in my drinks and roaches crawling around.

I’ve frequented this establishment many times and the food is usually good. I placed a to go order today and had an experience that changed my perception to the point which I will not return even to dine in. I placed an order by phone with Matt who was very kind. Once I came inside a manager stood at the register. He looked up only to let me know someone would be with me instead of assisting me. A blonde woman and Matt assisted me with getting my order and checking out. Once I got to the car I realized the order was not prepared correctly. I called and spoke to Matt briefly before I decided it was best to back inside as I had not left yet. Once I went back inside the black manager again barely looked up as I expressed as the order was not prepared correctly. We exchanged words as he nastily insinuated that he was in fact right. He never once apologized for the wait or the mixup before disappearing in the back. I wasn’t willing to wait any longer than I already had. So I requested a refund. The blonde woman returned again to assist and I asked if he was the manager and she confirmed. I let her know that he was incredibly rude and nasty and her expression told me this was a common occurrence. He should not be in any type of setting interacting with customers. The pancakes were not good. The sausage patties were dried out. Although the omelet looked appetizing I wouldn’t know as I never got a chance to eat it

In the chaos of mother's day breakfast I didn't get my servers name, but she was the sweetest and provided excellent service. Mom got a Denver omelet and toast, I had a skillet with potatoes, onions, peppers, medium eggs, and added some chicken sausage. Everything was delicious, and came out quicker than expected considering the crowd. Also the portions are HUGE. I had enough left over for lunch tomorrow. We will definitely be returning

This experience at thumbs up was abysmal. I've been going to this restaurant quite some time today I asked for a sandwich on sourdough bread they gave me a half a piece of sausage and white bread as if I wouldn't know the difference. The waitress seen shocked that I wanted a whole piece of sausage on my sandwich as if I never gotten that sandwich before I know I bought that sandwich at least 50 times most of the time I purchased it at the other thumbs up restaurant will the service is great and the food is amazing this restaurant desires a lot and I will not visit this location again terrible terrible terrible

Thumbs Up Diner, a cozy nice tucked away restaurant. I had no idea the location was tucked off in the back of a shopping plaza old shopping plaza to be exact. This is definitely an old fashioned diner and I love the feel that I get when I walk in and be greeted and seated as well. They have some really delicious breakfast items on their menu as well as other dishes, I ended up getting the Omelette and you can build whatever kind of omelette you have a desire for but I will say there are pancakes aren't really the best they were a little doughy on the inside and it didn't feel like they will cooked all the way completely now however some people may like it that way and some may not being myself as one of them. But overall the service was fantastic the cleanliness of the restaurant was spot on it is definitely a spot I would visit again.

Had a very late breakfast today at the diner, we were so glad we found this place! Didn't know for years it existed in Douglasville! I ordered 2 pancakes, scrambled eggs with cheese and a side of bacon.
*the pancakes were the biggest disappointment, they were not good!
*the eggs were overcooked and dried out!
*the bacon were like wet noodles!!!
The strips were soggy and I had to ask an order of crispy bacon!
The "crispy" bacon came back hard and burnt/ really overcooked!
The apple juice was the only thing I enjoyed and I think they charged me for both orders of bacon, my bill was $24.00!!!
I'm still not happy about it!!

This place is a hidden gem. We are addicted to the French toast bits thick cut challa bread cooked crispy and delicious. Potatoes are bomb also. Warm syrup served as well. This is a new Sunday tradition for our family! Ask for server Keisha, she was wonderful.

Their grits tastes better than our grits in Texas...Our server was awesome, refilled drinks without us asking and kept checking on us. I will come back before we head home! It's that good!

Ok I am a brutally honest person , so here goes,.. Got seated fast was a plus but from here on is down hill. The tea is so sweet , it's almost syrup. Placed a order and it took about an hour to get our food. My wife got someone else's food , with very cold bacon , eggs she did hot order or eat , and the French toast was ok.
Next I ordered the southwest eggs, the wraps were soggy, the eggs had a horrible texture , flavorless , bland, the beans were ok I guess. The potatoes were very and and overcooked , no flavor either. Had to ask for the side of salsa that comes with the meal. Overall experience was horrible. I can not ever go back there. It was that bad. Service I gave a 3 , could have been better. I tried getting waitresses attention several times to get unsweetened tea to mix with the sweet, as well as a1 sauce to try to flavor up my food. Left spending $35 and slightly hungry as I could not finish the bland food.

I ordered a ham & cheese omelet with potatoes and cheese grits. Let me start with the huge cups for coffee. They're waay too big. The coffee gets cold and for someone with small hands and arthritis I didn't enjoy my coffee being served in a huge cup.
The omelet was just okay. Not very cheesy and tasteless. The cheese grits were not cheesy and they were thick and not very hot. No thumbs up from me on this visit.

The food is so amazing I almost feel bad about the one star but the service is absolutely HORRIBLE. The servers act like they’re so busy they can’t address anyone that walks in the door. Four servers in the building, it took someone 10 minutes to acknowledge me. And that was AFTER I had to walk up to the to-go counter and even then I was blatantly still ignored. I get a table and the waitress spends another two minutes running her mouth with another employee. This isn’t the first time either. I come here very often and the service is always always piss poor towards me. Out of the dozen times I’ve been in, I can remember one or two instances where the service was fast, friendly and up to par. Every other time it’s slow, the servers are rude and neglectful and it seems like they’d rather converse with each other than actually work. And im a great tipper, im polite and friendly EVERY time i walk in and yet im still greeted with nonsense. If it weren’t for the food, honestly I wouldn’t recommend it… a part of me still doesn’t because of the service but I know everyone’s experience will be different. The food is worth the trip, the employees aren’t worth any headache you may endure…

Overall, the experience was good. On the day we went they were understaffed; however, Vicky was very attentive and fast. The food came out quick, food was hot and delicious.

The food is amazing! The restaurant is cozy, but extremely busy all the time. The service is slow!!! I ordered 3 meals and it took an hour!
I would recommend, but be prepared to wait!

Really nice little dinner. It gets very crowded so it can get very loud and make it hard to carry on normal conversations. The food was good with huge pancakes as big as your head. I didn't particularly like the gravy but I am picky about that. The grits are phenomenal. Overall I would go back as it is a nice little brunch place. For 4 adults and 2 kids we paid a little over $100 not including tip.

Dirty glass so couldn't drink juice. Wrong meat with meal, which turned out for the better. Some food was good, some was not. Waitress was great, except served 1/2 cup of coffee.

Stopped to try the food, my partner is an avid visitor to the austell location and wanted to give this location a try.
The food was good ish, it's basic breakfast so you can't critique it to much. The eggs were done acceptable but the chicken we ordered was very dry but the service was pretty prompt for seating and getting out food. We came when it was mildly busy so that was nice. There's outside seating available and bar seating

Love this place. Always good breakfast with portions that satisfy. Big fan of the fish and grits. The shrimp in the shrimp and grits can be tough sometimes. Friendly staff and great menu.

First time here as an out of town guest. The restaurant is a bit unassuming, and not really spectacularly decorated. But trust me when I tell you that the fried catfish and grits was off the chain. The sweet tea was perfectly sweet. Not diabetes in a glass. The food came to our table hot and fresh. This place was a little far for us, but it was well worth the visit!

I have been to this location many times before; however this time I was meeting my distant cousin, whom I had never met before, for breakfast. Needless to say, there was a lot of talking. Shortly after paying my tab, I was asked to leave because other parties were waiting. I have never experienced this at any restaurant I have patronized. I feel this was inappropriate. As my cousin put it, "we were politely thrown out."

Just a great old fashioned greasy spoon diner. Amazing food, great prices, and friendly service! Jessica was a great server. The chicken and waffles were awesome, along with the Nashville hot chicken sandwich! Definitely coming back!

I am a Douglasville native and before I decided to write this review about this place I frequent it more than 10x just to make sure I am honestly providing my experience accurately.

1. This place is expensive compared to others around
2. Many occasions you have to check your order because they will NOT put all your order/items In your TO-Go even though you pay for it. And if you leave the restaurant and just so happened to be one of those that wait to get home we’ll you just lost that money because they Willy junk your lying and did get your food. So NEVER leave this place Without checking your food.

3. They understaff is okay but the fact the hostess and EVERY server will just pass you by and not ask if you need help is ridiculous to me.

4. The food is not good! I have tried a few items on the menu and YES some are good but how do you News up an omelette I am not sure but this place NEVER gets it right. The French toast is a HIT or a miss!! And when it miss it’s ballpark Miss and soggy!

Overall customer service is not good and I would not go back and I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone.
