In over 50 years of fishing and shopping for tackle I have never seen a tackle section more poorly organized than this one. There are sale tags everywhere however non of the items on those hooks are the correct item. It literally looks like a 3 year old just put the entire fishing inventory away by using a method of sticking the next item anywhere there is an empty hook. After making this discovery on my 1st isle I went to next isle and saw many of the same lures as previous isle also just put anywhere. I regularly shop at the Cumming location and occasionally Kennesaw those stores are typically merchandised pretty well. So I know what to expect.

This location continues to disappoint me more and more yet I keep returning however this past Sunday was the final time I will step foot in the Douglasvills location.

The trash bins are overflowing with trash when my wife and I told the cashier, she said that removing trash was not in her job description. Then we asked for the manager and his response was "oh well, let me see what I can do" he did not apologize. My wife and I looked at each other and left the building.

The inventory is always off and it takes forever to get assistance at the new fishing counter where the higher priced reels are located.

I have photos that I will post on their website, the google review is locked out to providing photos of the entry.

This store has disappointed me in the past but I am done.

Visited the Douglasville location looking for x-mas gifts for my family. Walking through the store I noticed that Columbia outerwear was 25% off. (Only Exclusion Posted Was Clearance Merchandise) The store had several departments the were extremely disheveled, borderlining on trashed. No staff on the floor. I found a Georgia Columbia jacket style pullover (water resistant) a few racks away from the Columbia area. It was prized at $60 dollars originally. So should be $45 after the discount was applied. Of course, it rang up at regular price. When I asked about the sale. I was informed that that item was excluded. The cashier asked another employee and they went to the other side of the store than where I picked up the jacket. They returned and said nope not on sale. I provided the cashier, a photo of the sign, including what was excluded posted on the sign. The cashier was respectful, the 2nd employee was ok not good by any means. I told the cashier that I DID NOT want the jacket. I asked to speak to the manager to advise them that their signage was wrong, misleading, and confused their customers. So they could fix the problem not so they would sell me the jacket at the sale price. The manager was very short with me and frankly she was rude by the end of the interaction. She didn't even listen to me that I was talking about the sinage. Assumed I was demanding the jacket be sold at the discount. I literally said wow and gestured my disbelief and walked out of the store. I did state I'll take my business elsewhere. Unbeknownst to the staff in the last week I have bought over $900 in gift cards for the family business from that Academy and have every year. I will no longer be giving Academy in Douglasville any of my business moving forward. If I could I would return the gift cards, but to my understanding they are non-refundable. It is a udder shame to have your store in such a condition and signs made improperly that leads to questionable circumstances. Then to basically attack the customer instead of taking care of them for something that is completely not there fault is horrible... You lost a lot of business over how you treated me, the condition of your store, your discount advertisements, and that $15.

It seems you could cross train some of these employees to work the registers. A lot of employees standing around but no one willing to take peoples money how sad to see what our American society has turned into. Pay them well and that simply don’t care. Manager needs to be fired

I've never been to this place until I ordered a kayak online and had to go pick it up. The cashier was super nice. She tried to find ways to give me additional discounts. The guys who helped me load my kayak laughed at me when I pulled out a step ladder from my car. The manager, Kari, is super awesome. The kayak was not the kayak I ordered online and it was out of stock. Kari came and sorted it out for me. It was seamless. She offered me an upgrade with no additional cost and she stayed with me to help me pick out the best kayak for me. Thank you, Kari!

I appreciate Kayla's friendly assistance during my visit to Academy Sports. However, I was disappointed with the customer service provided by Jalaeda. I purchased a basketball for my son's birthday, but the packaging was damaged as it was the last one in stock. When I asked for a small discount due to the damage, Kayla understood and said she would ask Jalaeda. Kayla returned and advised that Jalaeda refused. Despite purchasing the ball at full price, I later found it cheaper at Walmart and decided to return the one I purchased at Academy. In situations where packaging is damaged, it would be beneficial for the store to show empathy and offer a discount to assist the customer. Unfortunately, this experience has deterred me from shopping at Academy Sports in the future.

I recently visited this location hoping to purchase some new sports equipment for my kids, but my experience was nothing short of terrible. The primary reason for my dissatisfaction was the behavior of one of the employees named Deija. When I asked to confirm the order i placed online, the employee was incredibly rude and dismissive. Instead of assisting me, she responded with a condescending tone and made me feel like I was inconveniencing them. This is completely unacceptable and made my shopping experience very uncomfortable. I spoke with the supervisor Marcus who listened to my concerns but allowed her to continue to be disrespectful while i was talking with him about my concerns. Terrible place and very disappointed.

A big no for me. I went in over a week ago to return a pair of shoes and some football pants the day after I purchased them. I took them to the clerk along with my reiciept I was told I would be refunded as soon as that day or maybe a little longer. It's been well over a week and still no refund. That was about a $150.00. Management has the employees running surveillance on I'm guessing on how much ones clothing entire cost because I go been in this store twice a month for years and everytime i wear my work clothes to shop i get stalked around the store so excessive that its noticeable but I wear my regular around the town and house clothes I get greater with more enthusiasm, no stalking or event he manager showing up many times with 20 mins ask if I need help. Long story short, when purchasing a firearm, avoid Academy Sports, and if feasible, just go to a local shop... I am officially beyond done ever patronizing Academy Sports, at least for firearms and related accessories. I wanted to purchase a new magazine for a 0.45 ACP pistol. I searched online, and according to their website, this location had multiple options available in store. When I arrived, I was having difficulty finding anything, so I asked the associate, "Can you please show me where your .45 ACP magazines are?" I was met with an expression of confusion followed by "you mean clips?" He pointed to the area where they were located, and it was the same area I had been searching. There were no .45 acp magazines, everything was either 9 mm or 0.22. I'm not frustrated with the employee, but I brought that part up because it shows that their staff who works and operates their firearms section has little technical knowledge of firearms, yet they advise and sell them to customers, some who may be new owners. In short, for these types of products, buy local. Local firearm stores are more likely to be owner-operated by an owner who knows about the products they are selling or, at the very least, the owner will ensure that the staff is knowledgeable about the products.

Called into the store 15 minutes before close. Just needed to verify something was in stock and ask their process for purchasing this item. Was placed on hold until they closed 15 minutes later. Of course after 3 or 4 minutes it just transfers back to the store. Repeated this process 4 or 5 times until they stopped answering. 2 minute question. 15 minutes wasted. I will call everywhere tomorrow and only call them last if i have no other choice. Would rather spend my money with a small business instead of a huge company that hires 16 year olds and give them little to no customer service training.

Bought a baseball glove, glove fell apart, they refused to take it back. Called corporate they said to get in touch with Wilson to get it fixed. Called Newnan location, they said they would fix it or replace it. Drove to Newnan from Douglasville, got the glove replaced and some apologies. Douglasville store- you suck. Corporate -you suck. Newnan- you guys know how to treat people. Stop treating your customers who struggle buying their kids gear like trash.

They went out of their way to fix a bike that had a bad tire and when we realized it was too small of a bike, they exchanged it for a larger and more expensive one and gave me the same price! Most reasonable prices of any sporting goods store anywhere. They have a huge selection of anything outdoor sports related. Store is clean, well organized and the staff is very helpful and courteous. I highly recommend Academy Sports.

My husband purchased a home workout station and when we arrived at the Douglasville store to pick it up, the box was destroyed. He could clearly see pieces and parts rolling around. They told him there was nothing they could do except look up anther store to see if they have had it in stock. We would have to reorder it ourselves and go to one of the other locations, not anywhere close mind you, and pick it up ourselves. They washed their hands of us and were very unprofessional. I am disappointed as we usually get better service.

Always a good place to shop. Friendly employees and very good selection of sporting & camping gear. Got a great deal on a pair of Nike Air Zoom. *They seem to have really moved some workout gear and weights during the past few months. I'm guessing people needed to create thier home gyms as gyms aren't really choice for health safety reasons during a pandemic.

As a 10 year DOUGLASVILLE residence who has two school age athletes in my household, I spend lots and lots of money at this location. Could probably spend more if they ever had MANY popular items IN STOCK. My comment today is concerning Cory and David at that location. It’s 4 pm on a Friday…store pretty empty. I walk to the football section to find what my Grandson needed but couldn’t find it so I walk away to find help. I see Cory and I start to ask him (as I’m opening up a picture on my phone to show him) if he knew where an item is, he jesters me away from him and yells at David to help me. I walk to David and he shushes me away saying something about clocking in or out. I don’t know but at this point I’m so perturbed, I just try again to search for the items myself. All Cory was doing was rushing to get in this “person of interest” face and joke and laugh the very moment he shushed me away. I saw him CLEARLY. They were both RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL and need to get out of the customer service business. I’m so sorry I needed you to do your job.
