This was our first time visiting the store, and unfortunately, the experience was one that left us leaving without making a purchase. When we first arrived, no employees greeted or acknowledged us, which felt unwelcoming. We saw an art piece we liked and, not knowing the store’s protocol, took it off the wall ourselves to purchase. Immediately after, an employee came over and told us not to take art down on our own and that they could grab it from the back. This was said in a very condescending manner. While we understand the policy, a simple acknowledgment and offer of help while we were browsing would have avoided the situation altogether.

Later, we found a mirror we liked and got in line to check out. My fiancé stood there for over five minutes without being acknowledged. The cashier was busy doing something else at the register, which is understandable, but a quick “I’ll be right with you” would have made a big difference. Instead, when he asked if he could be checked out, the cashier rudely responded that she’d help when she was done.

The lack of customer service and the rude attitude left us with a poor impression of the store. We loved the items we found, but the experience made us leave without purchasing them!

It was our first time going to Kirklands. As soon as we walked in we were excited about all of the items we saw. We grabbed a piece of art work off the wall that we wanted. The associate came over and scolded us about not taking items down off the wall. We explained it was our first time shopping there and apologized. She rolled her eyes and walked away not even responding to us. Unacceptable. We decided to stay and finish shopping. When we got to the register both associates made eye contact with us and didn’t say a word. The place was not busy and no one was in line. After a few minutes I asked nicely if we could check out. She said “you can see I’m doing something, I will be with you when I can.” We eventually just walked out and left our items. Horrible customer service.

Purchased large vase that was marked $69.99 but scanned $89 the manager was so rude and even after paying for the vase she left it sitting on the counter and pushed it forward to me. No bag no wrap. People and mistakes like this overcharging customers despite what’s clearly on the tag is no excuse. The attitude that the manager gave me was beyond insulting. She had the most disgusting tone.

Not my normal location I shop at but found so many great things here when I was visiting a friend. Ask for Stacy she is so helpful and even with being super busy she helped me get my table into my car, she was wonderful help can’t say enough about the great shopping experience there!!!!

I usually shop in Orland but they didn’t have all the furniture pieces in stock. Bought and drove to Downers and the staff was laaaaazzzzzyyyyyy, and had condescending attitudes. I’ll keep my shopping to Orland where they are nice and helpful.

Visited this store tonight on 11/4/20 around 5:45 pm with several items in my cart to purchase in store. The store wasn't busy and they had two assocuates working who made eye contact with me twice but yet I wasn't acknowledged, smiled at, greeted or asked if I needed assistance. I came in to purchase $300.00 worth of xmas items that I knew they had in store after just checking availability on their website. I refuse to spend my hard-earned dollars where I'm not even acknowledged. Huge missed opportunity. Don't shop here they don't care about service or sales.

I had placed an online, deliver to home order for a large picture/painting. When it arrived it turned out to be the wrong item. I was hesitant to return it through the mail and reorder it, so I brought it to the Downers Grove location. Christine was super helpful, placed a phone call explaining the situation and arranged to have a replacement sent. She was so nice and ready to help me and I just want to make sure that Kirklands knows they have a great employee working for them and a guaranteed return customer. Thank you!

What a beautiful store. Well merchandised and friendly staff. We dealt with Denise who went above and beyond to help us and was so pleasant. This kirklands is a bit farther away for us, but we will make the trip!

Kirkland's is a nice home goods store, with a decent variety of items, including furniture, small decor, rugs, candles and wall decor. Its pretty expensive if it isn't on clearance, but when you do find clearance deals, it is quite affordable for nice decorations. I wouldn't go here to find decor for your first apartment or condo though, as the price is a bit high for that.

I always find unique items at Kirklands. I needed a new keyholder and it's the only actual store that had one and it's black and white and looks great in my kitchen. Also got a carved wall hanging. It never breaks my budget. They get new items weekly!

If you’ve never been to this store. I suggest you go. The minute you walk in you smell the wonderful fragrances. You even walk out smelling like them too. Very cute decor for the house some higher than others but you decide what to buy anyways.

I have been at this store many times and can't complain about the merchandise. The blonde cashier on Saturday couldn't have been more arrogant and stuck on herself. She was condescending to customers and I wouldn't visit this location (Downers Grove) again.
