I would like to share with you all the exceptional service provided by Barry and Dodds at the Office Max in Downers Grove, IL. They went above and beyond to help me out of a terrible jam when Staples failed to perform a crucial printing and collating job for my sister's funeral mass booklet, less than 24 hours before the service.

Barry and Dodds were incredibly understanding and efficient. They managed to complete my job in less than an hour and did an outstanding job. The quality of their work was impeccable, and their professionalism and dedication were truly remarkable.

Worst location I've ever been to. Rude staff, and awful customer service. I needed one page printed and no one knew how to help. I pre-odered my one page online. Apparently it takes more than half a day to print one piece of paper, and print it incorrectly at that!

First time printing here. I had placed a same day pick up at 9am. Called the facility at 12. I asked how long it usually takes for documents to be printed if the order was made online. The gentlemen says that it should say in my order. Maybe overlooked? I advised I placed an order at 9am. The gentleman said “oh it shouldn’t take that long”. Called back at 5 and told them I lived an hour away and wanted some help to see if I should wait longer in the area or I should leave… the guy that answered this time basically said that they were super busy. I decided to leave and and make my hour drive the next day to pick it up. Once I did pick it up there was a young lady in the front. I had just ordered 1 ivory 25% cotton letter and 2 standard size letters. Not much really. I looked mainly for my 1, 25% cotton letter. It was made incorrectly but the young lady helped me in minutes. Once I got home(one hour away) I noticed that I was missing one of my two standard letters. I called this place and they have me on hold for 13 min now. I am writing this as they have me on hold. I decided to print here since, I thought, it was convenient for me at the moment. At the end it was a lot of back and forth. Just my luck maybe? but I felt like they don’t really care. Well 17 min later still on hold, disconnecting. I guess it’s a lost for me.

My local store never seems to have both fax-copiers working at the same time. It’s been like this for years. And I can’t walk well at all so if I have to stand and wait to get my stuff to be done, it’s bad on my back. They have no where to sit and rest and they never ask if I need help. It’s pretty obvious that I’m in pain standing there but no one tries to help. I’m a senior citizen so you should have services to help people like me. If I had a fax machine, I wouldn’t need to go there. Bad customer service.

Office Depot Downers Grove never fails to provide excellent customer service. Employees are friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and professional. The store manager, Rick, is accessible to customers as well. Tara recently assisted me with a tricky print order and did so effortlessly and produced a flawless result. We are very pleased. In an age where customer service is sometimes lacking, Office Depot does a great job in a friendly, professional manner.

Phoned in advance to inquire about availability of product. Barry did a visual, found the product and had it waiting for me when I arrived (I was about 30 minutes away from this location). I came in to try some office chairs, specifically to try one with forward tilt. Unfortunately it is a rare feature and Office Depot did not carry any chairs with it. Even still, Ken assisted me and even recommended some chairs that had features close to forward tilt. I left undecided but with several tags to mull over. About an hour later I purchased the Momentum on the website for pick-up as that was an extra 5% off. The chair was brought out to my car and loaded into the backseat and I was off. Good experience and thank you Ken for closing the sale!

After waiting several minutes and being ignored I finally interrupted the associate at the print center during her conversation with another employee. She chuckled when I told her what I was looking to do and made me feel like I was ignorant even though I had done this same order multiple times before. Without any explanation of price for service or really any conversation, she states how overwhelmed with orders she was and that I would just have to wait; she couldn’t possibly estimate how long the process could take-her words. I’m embarrassed that I even paid for my item and will never use this business again. I understand understaffing and the stress retail is under but I was shocked by the horrendous attitude and service there, enough that this review felt a must.

Employees actually greet you AND ask if you need any assistance. They are patient, helpful, and have a positive attitude. This location also has a more diverse range of items in stock than their competitors.

I’m in the Downers Grove Office Depot up to three times per week as they’re a shipping drop-off point. The staff is always courteous and professional as they patiently make receipts for those packages. To work through a small customer problem on my end, I needed to recover an item left the previous day for pickup. I arrived early at the store to find a deep clean was in progress, and they were closed to customers at that time. However, a member of the staff recognized me, opened the door, and helped with the recovery. This dedication to service is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I’d put a zero for today’s experience but that wasn’t an option. And the store manager was right there! I asked an associate for help, gave me the brush off. Clearly didn’t understand what I needed. The other associate moves at a rate of a turtle. Manager took off for the day. Thanks for making me wait for over a hour , and I would still be waiting until I gave up and left. This is very poor customer service and I was handled poorly by 3 company associates. One of which was a manager.

Everyone else is very helpful but whenever I walk in the manager is always leaning up against something and on his phone. Immediately pawns me off onto another employee. It looks really bad. If you are a manager you should be just as involved as the other employees are. Just cuz ur a manager doesn’t mean you get to slack off. Shouldn’t he know how to make copies too. A manager should be well educated on what they can do in there store and how it operates. It’s annoying and lazy. It’s never crazy busy in there either. He can help out....I unfortunately have to come to this location because it’s close. I appreciate his staff, they do a great job. Why does his staff know more than him though? This is the General Manager, Rick!

I have been a loyal Office Depot/Office Max customer for some time now and this store is an excellent example of why I keep coming back. The staff was super friendly, one gentleman who was leaving for lunch, made it a point to stop and make sure to offer his assistance with our purchase. The woman who rang us out was so helpful and answered all of our questions. We had purchased a desk and chair and they were kind enough to help us load both items in the car, all while having smiles on their faces. I appreciate the high level of customer service we received today and the great selection of office supplies and furniture and will definitely be returning for all my office needs!

I was at the Woodridge location stayed in line ( and I was first in the line of 5 people waiting for service, not even a "hello" or. " I'll be right with you as soon as I can, etc." After 12 minutes of waiting went do to the Downers Grove Location, one person being serviced, but wait: eye contact, a hello and 6 minutes later. I finished with my order, thanked and processed by Mrs. Nikki at this location. She multi tasked and spoke to people. I'm spending money someplace where I welcomed to shop. I noticed staff was low, but I was acknowledged as a costomer first, then serviced. Won't ever go back to Woodridge location even thought it's closer to my home.

This is the place to go!! I had to get a new printer so I went to Best Buy and Office Max and I walked out empty handed.
Troy was extremely helpful and was very knowledgeable and helpful. Ken at check out was very personable.
