Dropped in for breakfast with my wife. We both got versions of the Breakfast Special.

The food was fresh, well-made (Maid-Rite, eh!), and tasted good. The bacon wasn't over cooked and the sausage patties could have been hamburger patties because of how big they were.

It was a good experience. We had none of the customer service issues others have reported.

...and it was cheap! Two adults getting breakfasts, coffees, and added pancakes for under $25!

We will be back for sure!

We ordered 2 cheese rites & a small onion ring for pick up. We live a few minutes away from Maid-Rite and our cheese rites were cold & didn’t have cheese on them. I called & complained to Debbie-the owner & I was told I should have put the maid-rite in the microwave for 1-2 minutes. I don’t understand why we should have to heat up our food. Our onion rings were hot but both maid-rites were cold. I told her that we eat there a lot & she was losing a good customer. All she said was okay I’m sorry to hear that. Their customer service there is very poor! I will not go there to eat ever again!!

Wonderful experience here. Went a couple of weeks ago. Awesome staff. The young man who waited on us was so friendly and accommodating. The food was good. The onion rings were awesome.

The first time in there, I even told the young man that behind the counter. Got their special, two eggs over easy, hashbrowns extra crisp on them, bacon and wheat toast.

The positives; Hashbrowns had the right crisp, bacon was cooked perfect, and the over easy eggs were spot on. The feel of the cafe is spot on. it sounds like it has been a staple in the Dubuque area for a long time.

The negatives; Hashbrowns had no flavor, I don't think any salt was used to cook them. The service was not good. Had to ask for my first refill of coffee, and then my water and coffee ran out. There were only two other tables in the cafe, then just me. I even put the glass and cup further out on the table, but no one came to ask or refill.

I love mom and pop type cafes, but the service has to be spot on. One of my pet peeves is drinks. Keeping them topped off.

I will probably give them one more try, but if that service isn't better, it will be the last time in there.

Normally, I tip very well. Today, there is no tip. I wonder if that will "register" with them?

Oh my oh my. This place is amazing. I had the chili cheese open face. I can't eat anything else because it's so good that's all I want. Very much an old diner style atmosphere. My belly hurts now I ate so much. You won't be disappointed or leave still hungry. Just wish they had one back at home in Rogers, AR. Did I mention the prices are really cheap? Less than $10 did combo including tip!!!

May be known for the sandwiches but breakfast is pretty good. Very standard so don't be looking for bran muffins and parfait yogurt. Is sausage eggs bacon and choice of white or wheat. $6.50.....ill be back

We went with some friends a few days ago. Neither my husband or me got what we ordered. I ordered a maid rite wrap and got the sandwich. My husband ordered the BBQ Texas Rite and got the maid rite sandwich as well. We will not be going back

Having grown up on Maid-Rite there wasn't much surprise to me here. The food was hot and good like I remember. Staff were kind and really worked like a team which was neat to see. If you want over-seasoned food this is not the right place, but for a good loose meat sandwich and straight french fries, I would make this a regular stop. The one star is more due to location and tight parking...but for the things that can be controlled without relocation they do a great job!

Stopped in 9/12/23 for lunch. First of all was the service. Bonnie our waitress was way over the top. She was beyond excellent! She walked complete circles around the younger girls who were working! We need more like her in the workforce. Food was good,prices reasonable and pretty good visit all around. We live near Wisconsin Dells and we will be back to see Bonnie on our next trip!

Any time we find a maid rite we stop. My husband loves them! Reminds me a bit of a 50s diner. Not fancy by any stretch of the imagination, but the food is great! Loose meat burger. The onion rings were delish!

It's a blast from the past. Great food, friendly fast service and its like you're in an old timey diner. It's a hidden gem of Dubuque. The only tough thing may be finding parking as it's a small parking lot with several stores in it.
Onion rings are a must, and the chili on the chili maid rite is like eating a delicious beef chili dog.

I was really disappointed. We ordered quite a few things and almost all of the items they were out of. I didn't realize that they don't have hamburgers. They only have chopped up meat. The onion rings are home made and they were wonderful. I would have expected that they would offer an item to make up for so many of the items that were out of order. Could have offered a dessert or take a drink off or something.

Always an enjoyable place to meet with friends or breakfast with family. You really can't beat the quality of food you receive at such an affordable price. This is really one of the few places you can take the family to eat and do so on a reasonable budget.

They have breakfast and lunch for cheap
some of the breakfast entrees include:
pancakes, french toast, eggs and bacon. wheas you guessed it maidrite for lunch.

atmosphere is very friendly, they take most major credit cards except discover.

they have an old school juke box system and always have a sense of humor! recommend stopping in if you want a quick eat at a reasonable price

Completely unimpressed... 3 small pancakes, 2 strip bacon, 2 eggs over easy, coffee - $11.64! And $3 tip!!

Nearly $15 for a $6 meal?!

Quality of food and wait staff was average.

Better off going elsewhere if you want/need quantity per dollar!

I wouldn't NOT go again, with friends, but not by myself.

Gotta bring them for the satisfaction you won't otherwise experience!

Decor is unexpected. Time warp to 50's diner. One star for that. Food is, well, maid-rite. Kind of one of those places you wish you couldn't see behind the counter, but I suppose that would sacrifice authenticity. Staff friendly. Gave me fries instead of curds but fixed it and let me keep the fries, too. That was nice of them. Ordered Chiliburger which was open-faced and sprawling. If you know what you're getting into already with a maid-rite, this will be no different. The fresh 50's decor is a nice touch, however, that elevates this location. Maid-rite used to be inexpensive buy it's not anymore. I suppose that's everywhere, though, these day.

Brought my Granddaughter from Oregon to experience the atmosphere. NO ICE CREAM! WHAT? Wanted her to have a real
chocolate malt. The employees were eating behind the counter. The girl that brought our food never said even one word to us. Didn't acknowlege we were customers. When the o th er couple eating left. she started picking up the mats from behind the counter and dirt and what ever else was blown over to our table. The floors were filthy. Totally bad experience.

Worst maid rite I've ever had and the customer service was horrible. Two of the grouchiest, frown faced, rude women I have ever had as servers. They were not concerned about getting our order right, and basically accused us for thier mistake.

I haven't been to a Maid-Rite since they had one in Rockford IL. The taste of a Maid-Rite sandwich brought back alot of memories it's not the prettiest place but the food is good and cheap.

People to busy BS instead of working and treating customer well. No taste to the maid rite and limited toppings even another customer had to ask. People walking behind counter getting in register when not even working. Not real clean either

Worst experience have had in a long time. Staff never checked on our status, never re-filled our drinks, and never cheked to see if we wanted to order other items. Staff working the afternoon shift should be trained or replaced. Usually, this is a great place to eat, but with lazy staff, it's not worth it
