I stop here every time I travel through Dubuque. The atmosphere is sophisticated and comfortable. The staff keeps everything pristinely clean, and the service is impeccable.
I have tried almost everything on the menu, and have never been disappointed. The food here is far beyond what you could expect from any family restaurant, not what you would expect for "pub food."
The steak bites are to die for, even if you think you don't like bleu cheese, the fondue they have as the dip for these is amazing. My other favorites are the meatballs with sweet chili sauce, the chop salad, and the fried chicken.
I haven't had anything here that I didn't like.
They also have amazing specialty drinks. My favorites are the Georgia Peach Mule, and the blueberry vojito.
Servers are all extremely prompt, accurate, and friendly.

Came to this place from out of town for a good meal and left very disappointed and sick! Had the bourbon glazed salmon and it had tasted off. My date had ordered a chopped salad and received a side salad instead. We had to ask another employee to get us the correct salad. As I was paying, I had told the waitress that it was bad and she didn't even acknowledge what I had said. On our way home which was an hour away I started feeling sick. Got home and the little bit I did eat did not stay down! I would never recommend this place to anyone!

Review based strictly on the fact that two employees saw us walk past the window twice and pull on the door 15 minutes after they opened for breakfast on Sunday (8:00 am on the door) and they didn't let us in. Does seem like they're too concerned about getting business.

Stopped for lunch. Service was good but the burger was bland, over-cooked and the bun was soggy. Wife had pulled pork and there was barely any BBQ sauce on it and the Texas Toast was soggy too. The fries were the best part of the meal. Maybe just an off day but probably won't be back for a while.

This was a nice place to stop in and grab a beer and an appetizer. We saw other food and it looked quite good but we just ordered an appetizer plate. The food was kind of standard bar type food that was clearly from some type of food service truck. Nothing homemade but, they were not advertising it as homemade either. The staff were super nice and the beer was nice and cold.

Let me start by saying kudos to Adam and Luciano your hospitality and professionalism is top shelf, even though the deal did not work out you stood by your word and you don't see that much anymore. Joe is a good guy who will stop at nothing. He will make sure you drive away in a car. He wants you to be satisfied with your purchase a little pushy but we all need to be pushed in the water now and then no harm done. i rate them at a top shelf establishment they are recommended thanks again Luciano es a todo dar muy buena onda and Adam mijo it was a pleasure even tho we didn't get the car meeting you was worth the whole experience God bless you!

Absolutely amazing burgers I’m a burger girl and I have never in my life had such amazing burgers!! We had the Western burger and the big Wisconsin burger!! The root beer bourbon bbq sauce is amazing they make all their sauces in house! The fires were also delicious!!! The staff and bartender were absolutely fantastic as well big shout out to Nate!! He gave us a tour of the building and gave us an amazing experience here at 1st and main!!! If ever in the area I would 1,000 times make this a must stop to enjoy and eat here!!! Will definitely be making a trip back soon hopefully the owner gets word that we need this place in Ohio so my burger loving self doesn’t have to make so many trips to eat these amazing burgers!!!!

Definitely not as good as everyone makes it out to be. Food is mid at best and they've increased their prices by almost 50% on their food which is insane in the last 2 years. Something that was $11 is now $16.

Don't get me wrong, it's not bad by any means, I'm sure you'll enjoy whatever you get but it's not anything to rave about.

Stopped in around 1pm Saturday 12/30 and sat at the bar.
Wasn’t too busy, maybe 5 or 6 tables. There were 2 bartenders/servers on and 1 bar back/food runner
We ordered 2 beers and got them out quick. Took about 10 minutes to order our food. We ordered steak bites and 2 entrees. We had 2 empty beers for about 10 minutes at the bar before someone came up and got us a second round.
The steak bites came out after 15-20 minutes. They were really tasty, with the blue cheese dip that came with them.
Where it goes wrong:
We noticed people near us had been waiting to pay for at least 20 minutes. Tables that came in after us weren’t greeted in 10+ minutes.
We kept waiting for our food but decided to not even want it anymore after waiting nearly 40 minutes.
In all that time, the two workers were on their phone, eating food and even eating off of guests plate at the bar (presumably an owner or a regular, which I totally get)
We had to ask the bar back to grab our server and they looked annoyed about it.
We ended up leaving because we were traveling and needed to be somewhere. I don’t think it should take 40+ minutes for a wrap and a breakfast entree when it isn’t busy.
They did take off the second round of Busch lights which was nice.
Heard great things about this place, but wasn’t impressed at all. Hoping to try it in the future as of all the great reviews..

Really disappointed in this place. My wife and I have always enjoyed going here but Saturday was a horrible experience. Sat at a table and waited 25 minutes for a waitress to even ask us if we wanted a drink, it was not at all busy at the time. The worst part was all the waitress were standing behind the bar just visiting, they would look over but none of them seemed interested in serving us. The food was below average at best although the wings were very good. I had heard that it was going downhill but hoping it wasn’t true but it is.

My wife had the breakfast buffet, I had 2 eggs with chorizo, peppers, mushroom and hashbrowns. Both of us had water because there was no lemonade. Waitress took $2 off because of the long wait but the bill was still $40. WoW !!

So we seen that they were one of the few places open in Dubuque before 4pm so we stopped to have lunch. Also they also had an outside sitting area where we could sit with our dogs to have lunch. So we went in asked if we could sit outside and they grabbed menu's and silverware and sat us at a table, about 30 mins later we decided to leave as no one else at that point had come to give us a drink or even acknowledge us. We took their menu's back into them and left. I'm sure the food would have been good had they offered us anything but sadly no one even talked to us.

It was a couple of months since I was here but kept my receipt and knew that I wanted to write a review.
My son and I decided to grab a quick bite before some live music in the area. This was walking distance and seemed to be some place that might be good.
It was really just average. The food was not bad but not great either. The atmosphere was almost to calm and left no impression. It was really the service that sent everything in a downward spiral. Mikayla (who I'm not even sure if she still works there) was cute but waiting tables with her personality and work ethic will not make it to the Big Tip market.
Service was okay in the beginning but 15 minutes folding shirts and not checking on our table. Then her and the other waitress went off to hang in the kitchen for another 10 minutes while occasionally peeking around the corner to look at tables when they should have been checking on the customers. Needed a refill and the check but after 25 minutes II was done! The table behind us had waited several minutes as well with a different waitress and decided to pay with cash instead of card just to get going. I gave it two Stars just because I would go back again in a year or so but no time in the near future.
By the way. The Southwest Burger my son said was average and my Mango Habanero Flatbread was just okay. Prices were average so not terribly overpriced.

I don't think that either of them were anything special. Both tasted okay and looked good, but for the price, we were both just wanting something more. There I'd also a 3% service charge for all card transactions, so be aware of that before you go in. It was good, but I'm not sure if we would go back again for brunch.

The food was good. Atmosphere was relaxing but fun - even though it was a little busy. However, our waitress was terrible. We were there for two hours and she checked in on us literally twice - once when we sat and once to collect the money for our bill so she could get her tip. Like I said it was a little busy, but it wasn’t like a line out the door busy. Nor were there people waiting to be seated kind of busy. Waitstaff definitely needs serious training on time management. The other thing I didn’t understand is how a plate of spaghetti, withOUT any meat, costs $20! Meat was extra. Sorry but unless there’s a true Italian chef, or old school Italian grandmother, back there making homemade noodles and sauce, I’m not paying $20 for something I can pick up at Walmart for .99 and eat off that for a week.

I had a really yummy blackened chicken sandwich with siracha mayo and my friend had a rootbeer shredded pork sandwich. I dont really like pork but his sandwich was delicious. It is one of the few places I'd order pork because it is so tender. I don't even know how they got it so tender like that. The brioche buns are good. They also have baguette and pita bread. I ordered mine on brioche bun. Substitution was no problem. The server anticipated our needs and was very polite. The fries are really great. Garlic parmesan flavor. (I used the extra Siracha mayo as dip.) And a soda comes with the lunch special. We spent $31 on two lunches and a soda not including tip. Would be nice if there was one of these close to me.

MOST restaurants would have given you drink for free, when order did not meet any standards. No offer!
Maybe for some, but we now know where not to go in future. Costs $15.00 for disappointed experience.

Dubuque, IA. Service 5-stars, food was NOT. We had burgers and pulled pork, they were way over cooked to the point of arid dry tasteless pucks. The appetizers were good (maybe stick with fried items if you go). We were there Sunday afternoon, more of a retired or about to retire crowd, yet the music was so loud you couldn’t hear across the table to talk. The inside is pretty cool decorations and our server was amazing, just to be safe maybe you should swing by kwik star for a roller dog before you go, to fill you up.

I would never go back to this place. Wasn’t crowded and we were seated right away. However, we were never served. Two waitresses waited on tables that were seated after us but Never even came by ours. We got up and left. Told the management but they clearly could care less as they didn’t even apologize. TERRIBLE!!!

Great service. Good beer selection.
Local beer and national brands.
Our waitress was awesome (Halle).
Great food. Really enjoyed our night out in Dubuque. This is one of the few places that serve a fish fry
