**Review of Minimg Company in Dubuque, Iowa**

We visited the Minimg Company on a busy Friday night around 6:00 pm. Despite the crowd, we managed to find a table quickly in their seat-yourself setup. My wife enjoyed their signature drink, the Cave, served in a quart mason jar, which was as delicious as ever. I stuck with water.

For dinner, I ordered the pork tenderloin and fries, while my wife opted for their famous burger. Her burger was juicy and cooked to perfection. My tenderloin was slightly overcooked, but I prefer that to it being underdone.

Overall, we had a pleasant meal. The total came to a reasonable $37, including the drink. We'll definitely be back!

I've been here several times over the years growing up in Dubuque. Coming back into town it's a nice local spot to return to.

I changed it up and got the Large Fish Sandwich with fries and it was both filling and tasty. Even better was the fact I got a free draft beer with my meal, so I'm all in on that deal. The service was good and we were served promptly and respectfully. 5 stars from me!

We really enjoyed this place! Loved their big tall pops. They have Pepsi products. Friendly staff. We had the grilled pork chop sandwich and fries. It was very good. Nice size portions. Also lots of fun cocktails

Met my best friend for lunch to catch up. Arrived about 12:30 pm and there was plenty of seating. We both had delicious salads and visited for couple hours, and there was no pressure to give up booth. Waitress was very sweet and friendly.

Nice atmosphere in a restaurant, nice size portions of food, but burgers could use some seasoning, they were very plain. My son had Pizza sandwich and that was very good, unique.

Awesome environment, super friendly staff, quality food and large menu of tasty burgers. 1 down 19 Burgers to go. The Burger pictured was there signature burger that was recommended and I did ask for the 2/3 Patty. As you can see, the burger is bigger than the bun. Very filling even for someone with a large appetite.

Attached to Kennedy Mall in Dubuque, Iowa. They are locally known for their custom designed burgers, along with shoe string french fries that kind of resemble McDonald's fries. I also like their large fish sandwich, nachos with cheese sauce, pork tenderloin sandwich & chicken wings. Drinks and soda are served in glass quart canning jars, which is unique and fun! Make sure to splurge and order their specialty drink called "The Cave In"! Service is always excellent! There is no pizza here, but that is okay. I recommend highly!

Walked in and was packed. But if you like overpriced drinks and cheap food you can make at home, then this is your place. Nothing original about it. Take caution when you enter. There's a slope that you don't realize is there until you almost fall and hurt yourself.

I will never go here again nor do I ever recommend this place to anybody. The problem was with the jerk manager (owner?). But, from the beginning, when we ordered, the waitress asked how I wanted my burger cooked. I said medium well. It took a while for our meals to come out since it was Mother’s Day. My burger was well done instead of medium well. Since we had a time crunch, I decided to eat it instead of sending it back because I might not have time to eat a replacement burger or even wait on it to be brought out. Instead, I would ask for an adjustment to my bill. The waitress had been busy but I asked her to come over. I showed her my burger and she agreed that it was well done. I said that I didn’t have time to send it back but would just eat it and ask for an adjustment to my bill. She seemed to think this was reasonable and said she’d tell her manager. In a few minutes, a guy comes over and begins arguing with me. He told me I had eaten about 90% of the burger, that I should have told the waitress as soon as I noticed it was well done. Oh, he also said that it would keep on cooking after they had brought it out. I told him they were busy and I didn’t have time to wait for another burger. I also said I noticed it was well done as soon as I bit into it. The tone he took was scolding and argumentative. He did not display exemplary customer service in the slightest bit. He said he would discount my meal. I said to go and discount and leave my table. I didn’t want to see him anymore. There was no reason for his stupid position that he took. He hadn’t even talked to me but he treated me like I was somebody who was serially ripping him off. So, our family isn’t going back.

Good food, good service but when myself and a coworker stopped in for lunch we ordered sandwiches. We really didn't want fries so we asked if we could order something instead. The waitress said yes we could order a side salad. We both opted for the salad in place of fries. When the check came we both were charged $5.00 for the salad. The waitress should have made it clear there would be an upcharge of $5.00 which is outrageous for a cup of shredded iceberg lettuce some diced tomatoes, 1/4 of a boiled egg and a tablespoon of cheese. An upcharge of a couple dollars would be much more appreciated and informing the customer at the time of ordering should have happened. A sandwich and small salad was over $18.00. Buyer beware.

If your diet requires bland food, then this place is perfect for you.
My daughter and I came in for a late lunch. We ordered fried pickles to start because we were very hungry. They were unseasoned and just ok and came with a packet of Kraft ranch. She ordered a chicken sandwich that she had a few bites of and then was done. Wasn't the worst she had but it was just ok. I ordered a burger because they dominated the menu and I figured they would be good. I got the Wisconsin burger. It had no seasoning at all. I only ate half because I was so hungry.
Even the fries had no seasoning. It was so disappointing.
The place itself was ok but not particularly clean. The bathroom smelled rotten and was not clean at all.
The service, however, was pretty decent, hence the extra star and I tipped my waitress well since she did her job just fine.

Wait from order time: 1 hour 6 minutes

Food quality - poor +

Service: drink orders (water) got- next time we were spoken to was an hour and 10 minutes later. When I made it known I was disgruntled.

Waitress does nothing.

Gives me my full bill expecting payment and I give it to her and then she is like "well do you want me to get manager ive only been here a year"

Manager comes out : says "hey Bud" (obviously to assert delusional dominance) I explain the situation and he says "everyone is waiting".

Ok so you're failing everyone in your restaurant and blaming them.

Great friendly service. However, atmosphere is very dark, dingy, and dated. The best way to describe it is like a local sports bar with very minimally average quality food. It’s a local hit, but if you’re coming from out of town, usually best to grab some food downtown. Food has no seasoning, salad, as one lady describes comes with bagged ingredients and packets of dressing etc. Environment is dark and extremely dated. To end on a high note, the service is very good!

I will never go to this place again. My salad was made from shredded bag lettuce. My dressing was brought to me in a packet as well as the croutons. We bought chips and Salsa for $10.00 and it was cold bagged chips and jarred salsa. I asked for sour cream and it came it in a squeeze packet. My husband ordered a hamburger he said the texture was like a solid brick. I very seldom ever complain about food quality at a restaurant let alone rate and post, but I thought this time was absolutely necessary since it was rated 4.5 stars.
What a total waste of money. I am very disappointed and dissatisfied customer.

This is our go-to place in Dubuque. Whether we are shopping or on a date night. Burgers are always done perfectly, and we always get a basket of cheese curds or onion rings to go with the burgers. If you like adult beverages, try the Cave In. It's incredible. They also have gift certificates that make awesome gifts.

Have enjoyed lunch here several times. Great service. This is apparently a highly favorite spot for many people. Crowded every time we ate there. Food is standard bar/grill food served hot and if good sized portion. Highly recommend this establishment but be patient their busy.

I ordered the cod dinner and received 4 large thick pieces of cod that had a tasty & crispy breading. We also had the nachos with cheese & salsa and there was plenty! The waitress was quick and friendly and the kitchen staff delivered the food directly to the table which allowed the food to be extra hot! Great job, Mining Company ‼️💯

Fantastic food. Got the fried cauliflower as a starter, and everyone got a burger of some kind. The table got very quiet after the food came, a good sign when everyone stops talking to eat! I got the kind of rueben burger, personally I don't think it tops the classic, but it sure was good!

We've been here a couple of times now, and it was a good visit both times. They have umpteen different burger combinations, as well as other menu items, so it's not just a "burger joint". Food is good, not spectacular, and the pricing is very fair. It can be a very busy place, so waiting in line for a table is not unusual. Overall, a good experience, and it will continue to be a regular place to stop.
