My family and I really do enjoy this bookstore, it's so much more than books. There is literally something for everyone here, it is always bright and clean and well organized. You can find great deals on books (better than online) and the yearly membership that saves you 10% every time comes with some amazing coupons (it is SO worth it!)
So why the three stars instead of 5??
The attitude of several employees. It's almost downright rude. We have had several "encounters" where we have been ignored and/or treated rudely here. It is the one reason we have started going to the new bookstore in town (where everyone has been super friendly, helpful and ALWAYS ready at checkout).
Also, deducting a star for the removal of the little coffee shop/cafe that used to be in the bookstore before they moved locations in the mall. It's still a huge store, with more than enough room. There's just something about being able to go to a bookstore, grab a snack and cup of coffee that makes you want to stay longer, make an "adventure" out of it. Now it's just commercialized and much less of something to do and just a place to shop.
Still... We will continue to shop here, especially during the holidays, and I'm glad it's here.

BAM has moved to the old Younkers Department Store location. Great store! This store has new books, used books, knick knacks, board games, some records, and some graphic novels. When they moved to the new location, there is no longer a coffee shop like there used to be. BAM has lots of nice things if you are looking for a unique gift 🎁. There is a buy back program too.

Nicely redone location and good selection of books, 👌 very disappointing that there is no longer a Joe Muggs coffee shop in the store. Nothing like book shopping followed by sitting down to a warm beverage.
Sad there is no place in Kennedy Mall, to sip on some coffee or tea and relax!

I can not get enough of this store!! I could have spent a whole day there and still not be ready to leave!! There is such a vast variety of not only books but clothes, toys, albums, etc to choose from. Hands-down the BEST bookstore I've been to!!

Lots of different things here, its like a Barnes and noble for smaller places, they sell the normal stuff like books and magazines, but also toys and collectibles for all of your favorite shows, book series, and movies. They have a coffee shop, which is amazing, incredible drinks. And have a buyback program for books.

Whenever I buy the odd book it's usually from the Books a million in Dubuque. The selection is great and the staff are friendly. However, the system to order items to be picked up in store is HORRIBLE! The website gave the wrong store times, wouldn't even give me an estimate on when to pick up my order, only put the 96hr hold time in a tiny place on my receipt and didn't account for the holiday weekend. How does a bookstore still have such a terrible pickup system?

This is a great bookstore. I found what I wanted. The girl was very helpful. The smell of coffee was nice also. I'll be back for any future needs for sure.

Finding a bookstore is becoming a hard thing to find anymore, I was just in Books A Million and was pleasantly surprised to see such selection, equipped with a coffee shop and trained baristas you can even enjoy a fine cup while relaxing in enjoyment, very happy to see a book store survivor, clean, helpful staff, and well stocked, a great in town get away !

Look at the name of the store. What could be better? I'm super biased though, If I was allowed to I'd live in Barnes & Noble. I wish I had more time to check it out. I hope to go back the next time I'm in Dubuque and spend several hours, and dollars there. They have some great collections, and I love the way it is organized.

Plenty of parking, and it was a well run store. The staff was very helpful even during the Christmas rush. I bought some gift cards and I didn't get a chance to look around much. I plan to stopping again. There is even a coffee shop.

They don't even deserve one star. I was in today November 12th 2021 at 3:22 to buy a book mark because I lost mine. They informed me after they rang in my transaction that I would have to pay with exact change or a debit/credit card. They told me that they had no change in their registers. I walked out very unhappy

This place was like a hobby/games shop met a Barnes & Noble - two of my favorites in one place. Lots of great books but looks of great unique items as well! The prices were pretty on-par with a B&N, but they did have a buy-back program and a wall of discounted pre-read (used) books!
