I got a telemarketing call from a source that was not Walmart and it was a scam call telling me that Wal-Mart was going to send $900 gaming system and charge my account. I knew it was a scam. So, I took the time and decided to call Wal-Mart in Dubuque and the person I talked to was just rude and could care less. Before I could even finish, she cut me off and said there is nothing she could do about it. I get that. All I wanted to do was report this and give the phone number because that is the right thing to do. Since she was so rude, I asked to be transferred to a manager and she HUNG UP on me. I wanted to exchange some shoes for my kid. The girl at the customer service was not only rude but unprofessional. When I walked up she literally stopped talking to me to whine at one of her coworkers. And when I said I wanted to exchange the shoes she told me they do not to exchanges. Which is interesting because the website says it does it within 90 days. I purchased the shoes the same day. She almost seemed to have an attitude when I was surprised about it and her name tag was flipped. I was going to ask for her name but I felt like she was already agitated and I did not want to get into an argument, especially with my daughter there. Totally unprofessional. Walmart needs to do some retraining.

Had a horrible experience, driver Jason V in a white Chevy Malibu, delivered my order while proceeding to show he had all the items in the cart to delivery on the Walmart app, then when he delivers doesn’t send a message about missing items/ items he didn’t have or when the order was delivered. This guy needs reported, also needs to be let go from delivering from Walmart, he will take your food, he will say he has it all but only half of your stuff will be there(none of the actual stuff that I needed was there!).

Had to wait 20 minutes for someone to come unlock a shelf. When I asked an associate I. The area for help she just stared at me and then disappeared. When we did get help it was a pharmacist and not a store associate. Do not go here if you expect good service.

I refuse to shop at Walmart anymore. They'll never get another penny. It's a big part of what's wrong with the world and I can find my products anywhere else. It was great in the late 90's, it's just terrible anymore. The workers are absolutely useless. The company just wants as many dollars as they can get and are willing to sacrifice you to get it.

In July I was here one day, and the female cashier was extremely slow. There were three people waiting their turn, but the cashier was too busy socializing with a female customer. The cashier even stopped at one point, holding an item that was being scanned, and was just carrying on talking with the customer. I don't think I have ever seen such a slow and inconsiderate cashier before.

The place is overused. They're constantly out of stock, and it's truly debatable whether you'll find what you're looking for or not. The bags here are awful for both the take home bags and the fruit. By the time you drop your apples onto the hard pavement and can no longer eat them because the bag broke, you'll have lost more than the money you would have saved by shopping here. I'd advise shopping elsewhere.
The staff at the self checkout are rude. The scanners are malfunctioning and not scanning correctly. There's not enough space to put your scanned items to separate them from the unscanned items. It's easy to miss scanning something and accidentally walk off with something without paying for it. Bring back the conveyor belts and cashiers PLEASE!!!

October 2024- three employees talking to each other in the self-checkout area became so loud while cackling and clapping their hands that I couldn't think straight while I was ringing up my own groceries. One of them bumped into me. Hey maybe you guys would like to hire me so I can stand around and talk. I mean after all I already know how to run the registers.
September 2024 - I went shopping at Walmart for some groceries and I was specifically looking for plastic window sealant for the cold weather coming up but I couldn't find the product. They didn't seem to be any employees to help either. They did however have loss prevention following me around in plain clothes pretty much the whole time giving me dirty looks. Then I had to ring my own groceries up while one of the employees came right up to the register and put his hands behind his back some of the time leaning up against the wall while staring at me, pulling his phone out and playing games on his phone the rest of the time. Why not open the registers?
September 2023 - I went to purchase two items and I had to wait in line to check myself out at Self Service check out. While I was checking myself out, three employees stood around talking and laughing about their personal lives. Why aren't the 20+ registers being run by cashiers?
June 2023 - I went into Walmart to buy a headset for my Xbox. The item was behind glass and I couldn't access it. There were no employees in proximity to help me. I waited until I saw an employee with a vest half draped over him, stopped him asking for help and he let me know he was clocked out and couldn't help me. He directed me to ring a doorbell looking button near the registers in electronics that also had no employees nearby. After approximately 15 minutes waiting, I flagged down two employees. I asked both if they could help in electronics and both matter-of-factly said nope and kept moving. I saw an older employee stocking shelves nearby and asked her. She said I need to find a manager because only they have the keys. At about 25 minutes a middle aged female manager came walking up, insisted to serve two others in front of me despite now having waited 30 minutes. That's okay I was patient. She grifted slightly about short staffing. After observing two transactions, I informed her I was looking to get a headset from the xbox section and she actually needed ME to direct HER to the section, which again... isn't a big deal... but holy sh*t because now we're talking 30 minute wait plus rude manager plus made me wait behind people that came after me plus DOESN'T KNOW THE 30x70 FOOT DEPARTMENT SHE SPECIALIZES IN... I kept my composure, the lady insisted on me purchasing the item in electronics which I guess whatever - it's a courtesy to have an employee ring your items up these days... all in all I'm super frustrated with my experience and am inclined to go to a different store that doesn't keep the staff lean and place products behind glass.
November 2021- I've made eight separate attempts in a week make a payment on my Walmart card at Walmart and nobody seems to know how to do it. What's worse is three out of the eight times customer service was closed and not a single register was open. So, I took my card back to electronics and the person running the register back there refused to do it.
August 2021- Literally just moments ago I walked away from the electronics section. I was waiting excess of 5 minutes for an employee who was a short distance avoiding eye contact. When he finally approached and asked what I wanted I asked to sign up for a credit card. He said to do so online and walked away. DIRECTLY in front of him was more information about it that he could have directed me to. Just like, why does nobody care here?
2021- Last time I came to the store all of the registers were turned off. They have a set of Self Service machines. I asked an employee who had her arms folded behind her back leaning against the wall if she could ring me up and she flat out said no and pointed at the registers.

Went in for 5 of the same product. They told me they had 11 on hand and there were only 3 on the floor that I could find. I asked for help and they said it's not always right and there might be only 3, I heard the kid say to the other guy, "well they might be on that pallet in the back." So I went to the customer service desk to try and get someone to go look for me. The lady laughed in my face and said, "Those boys dont know what they're talking about. That's impossible. Have you ever seen out backroom? There's no way you're finding anything back there. Those kids dont know what theyre doing. Who told you that." I asked another young lady if they could check and she said, "I wouldn't know anything about that." I asked who I needed to talk to and she said, "someone on the floor." So basically the guys I talked to prior who the rude lady told me "Didn't know what they were talking about?" Great customer service you have there Wal-Mart. This is literally why I go to target! Dubuque Wal-Mart is trash. Go somewhere else... Galena, Maquoketa, anywhere but Dubuque.

Wait what!!!! You have Uber and Dashers sitting outside waiting on their orders and YOU think it's okay to just closed down service and screw us drivers over. Purchasing alcohol in self checkout, when attendant showed asked who making purchase I said me, but I had left my drivers license in car. My husband was with me so I said he could purchase, attendant said " I can't do that mamm", I said can we delete purchase, then he can purchase she said " I can't do that mamm" I said well I'm walking away, she said " if you come back with him to purchase I won't do that either". What a crock! Also I am 62 he is 57, no where under aged!!!

I applied to Walmart about a month or two ago and I haven't heard since. I called every week to speak to the hiring manager and she was NEVER there. I even called one time and this nice lady told me she would write my number and name on the door so she could call me, it didn't happen. People complain all the time about the hiring manager either never being there or ghosting people, I thought this was just false until I had to experience it myself. I even emailed Walmart, my application expired today and when I went to Walmart everyone is just either on their phones or sitting. The only way you're getting hired is if you have connections. Walmart is extremely unprofessional, there's only a handful of good workers who bust their butt trying to work, I am beyond disappointed.

We will not return to this walmart. They close down the checkouts at 7 which force you to use their self checkouts and not for the lack of workers. There are plenty of them standing around chatting with each other. So if you have worked today and feel like doing someone else's job for free head on over there. If you feel like using the restrooms I wouldn't advise it unless you don't mind not having toilet paper. One last thing, I you want any fresh veggies, Good luck there all gone.

Horrible experience today at Walmart. I am active duty miltary and have a Florida LIcense and a Florida Approved Military Extension (which I have), plus my Military ID Card. I ran into town to get a few things while I'm on Leave, decided to buy some alcohol. The sales lady when I showed her at the self checkout my IDs, was confused, so called her supervisor. I tried the explain to the supervisor that I had a valid military extension on my FL State license, she refused to even look at them, or even give me a the time of day, and said buy your beer someplace else. Wow...Active Duty, 30 years of service to this country and this is HOW WALMART treats it's customers. I am 52 years old, I don't look underage (promise you!). Even if the answer is no in the end because of store policy, at least take time to look at my IDs and don't just walk away when I am trying to tell you something. RUDE - that supervisor has no idea the sacrifices veterans have made. NEVER WILL BUY ALCOHOL at WALMART agains. Never!

I go as needed, later when less busy because 1. The shoppers. Their mission is seemingly to obstruct any path in already huge aisles in an almost comedic manner. 2. People frequently parked in fire lane, extended periods even. This also happens in the lane opposite facing. Creating unnecessary backlog and confusion for other drivers. 3. Locked item needed, no worker comes to assist, 10 mins. 4. Being prompted to donate to whatever cause/charity at checkout despite shopping at a discounted grocery store that profits billions and raises prices constantly. 5. Workers heavily exude an ‘I couldn’t care any less but it’s a paycheck so let me stand around and ignore anyone else around me.’ 6. There’s NEVER any hand baskets. Where are you hiding them all?? I avoid a cart and end up having to grab another container to hold my items. Get more, have multiple stations within the store, not just hidden up front.

My Walmart in dubuque iowa is awful at night time they are so rude and I don't even try to help you Walmart is supposed to be friendly at my Walmart they don't care about a soul they always on their phone or talking Sue other people that they work with I wish that I did not have to go to this Walmart

I Usually have good experiences shopping at Walmart they need more associates walking the floors associates are usually friendly and helpful I do not mind the self check out . Most staff are very knowledgeable to where a product is at thank you Walmart for all you do and charities you donate to

I tried to call both the auto care center and the regular number to the store and let it ring for 3 minutes and there was no answer on either line. just wanted to make sure the auto care was open on Easter Monday because I have to drive 30 minutes to get there.

Stopped by to get some necessities for our short trip here. Definitely larger store compared to ones I would find back home in Chicago. Employees were attentive and helpful.

I live 1 hour away I left a bag at the checkout I have the receipt I got home I tried calling back down to Walmart I tried every extension they had on there not one person answered that phone. I called at 9:30 at night if I had the opportunity to give a rating of zero stars that is what I would do

While I like the selection, checkout has been a nightmare at this store since it opened 20 years ago. Self check has not helped. If your not going to staff people in more checkout lanes, then put in more self check and employ less people. If there is too much shop lifting, get rid of the amm together and hire more people!!
