Not only do they have so many different items for my house indoor and out, but their Sprout section is a perfect place to find unique items, like toys or clothes. This company does so much for the community and always provides friendly service. A gem in our community. :)

This place is so much more than a hardware store, but it is a GREAT hardware store too! They also have a children’s boutique, a really unique toy selection, a department full of gifts and the most beautiful greenhouse/flowers/landscaping section, complete with knowledgeable experts. I could wander around here for hours.

16 MINUTES for a 16 second transaction
I visited this store and found my item within 2 minutes of looking, browsed for a few minutes, and then moved to checkout. I was second in line. There was 1 cashier helping someone that was having issues that needed managerial help. The manager came over and soon another second cashier came over to help the person in front of me. The manager helped the first cashier for a few minutes and left. The second cashier started helping the person in front of me and quickly came to an issue where they didn't know how to properly discount an item, a second manager was needed. This second manager came over and helped the second cashier. The first cashier still didn't figure out the problem, and called the first manager back over. By this point I was in line for 10 minutes, without any help, and 2 separate managers walk past me3 separate times without offering any assistance or apologies. The first manager aided the first cashier again, much quicker this time, and left quickly. The second cashier was still checking the person in front of me out, for a SECOND transaction. Luckily this second one was faster. The first cashier was still stuck on whatever the problem was, but this was now past 15 minutes and 2 separate interactions with a manager. I watched the first manager walk past the checkouts without even looking towards the cashier, who was just standing around looking for help. Finally, after 16 minutes of waiting, I was being helped. By this point, I am very frustrated with how much of my time is being wasted given there are less than 5 customers in the entire store, and a total of 3 in checkout. I placed my item on the counter, inserted my card, got my receipt and left. 16 seconds. I waited 16 minutes for a 16 second transaction with 5 people in the store. That. Is. Ridiculous. I don't know if any employees were new, but clearly more training is needed as both needed assistance and managers were not available to help or able to solve the problems efficiently. Self checkouts should be seriously considered because I, like many others, do not enjoy my time being wasted by standing around.

Their 2 locations are nice and convenient to downtown and the garden store is fantastic! I have had very good luck with the perennials growing and coming back after winter. Good selection and the fluffy chickens are neat to see walking around the outdoor garden center! Helpful staff that really understand their plants.

This is a locally owned hardware store one of two that they have in town. Staffed by people who know Hardware and can help you find what you need. I think they’re a great asset and I prefer when I need something to go to them rather than one of our big boxes, they’ve been here forever and the service is great

I have to admit I was a little baffled by my weed wacker line feeding mechanism. However, Kolby knew all about it. Even though he could have sold me a complete replacement cartridge, he showed me how to load it and keep the same cartridge, saving me 40 bucks and more importantly teaching me how to do it. What a great kid!

This is a great store and I especially love the Little Sprouts area. Yesterday when we were shopping I found an outfit for our granddaughter for Christmas and went to purchase the gift, I was told that the “cluck bucks” weren’t good until tomorrow. Ok, there was no visible date on the cluck bucks but it was worth a trip back to the store the next day to be able to use the bucks plus another coupon that I had. I specifically asked the cashier if I could use them together and was told that I could.

Today when I made a mad dash on my lunch break I was not able to use the second coupon, only the cluck bucks. Had I not made a special trip on an especially busy work day I would have left the outfit at the store.

So disappointed in todays experience that it may be my last purchase. Too bad, because I love the store and do spend quite a bit of money there.

This is the last time we will ever go to this place. My wife went in to get a crush washer for a Toro single stage snowblower we purchased there. Their "motor expert" said the oil drain plug should "never" be unscrewed. And they had none in stock, of course. He said the oil should be "sucked" out. That is ridiculous and completely contrary to the manual. Then he looked at the old crush washer and said it was fine, even though she told him oil was leaking around the drain plug. It's impossible to look at a crush washer and tell it's working. And this one had been in place for 11 years! My wife went to Advance Auto. A young man there took 10 seconds to find new crush washers that fit. Steve's Ace never seems to have OEM parts for products they sell, and this isn't the first time we have encountered this. We're done with them.

I'm not very happy with the exterior house paint that I bought three years ago. I was told that it would last at least ten years before I would have to paint again however it has faded in color. I was told that it wouldn't fade by your employee and that it was the same quality of Berh paint this was your true royal paint. Now I'm going to have to repaint my house and send more money for 10 gallons of paint. I spoke with the paints department manager and he was very condescending saying that it wasn't done right and that it's my problem. He also stated that the employees that told me it would last aren't working there anymore and that to me is wrong for him to state their business to me. I shop there a lot and I feel like the younger employees are very nice and helpful but for the older employees they need to learn how to treat and speak to customers. I will never buy your name brand products again and that's if I ever decide to shop there again!

Went to jfk store on May 25th 2018 to drop off some mower blades and knives for sharpening. Was told I'd get a call when they were done. Knives are picked up by a 3rd party. When I dropped the blades and knives off I was told they would be ready typically within the week. Never got a call on either. Decided I'd call them. Sure enough the blades were done. Waited until June 4th to call on the knives. They hadn't even been picked up yet by the third party. Was told 'Maybe he's on vacation'. Seriously? I get to drive across town now to get my unsharpened knives. It will be the last time I ever drive to ACE on jfk.

Very good selection of products, good prices and convenient. But....service is generally poor. Yes there are really good folks working here but the ones that walk right past you starring into space, the ones who are too busy working store operations to look up and help a customer, the ones who seem to be put off by a customer seeking help puts a sour taste in the visit. If you don't want to interact with customers, don't work in retail especially! A management problem to solve but since its been several years like this, they either have a blind spot or don't have a sense of what good customer service looks like themselves.
