I would say my chicken fajita bowl was overall tasty and filling. My husband's sweet and sticky tenders were mediocre at best. He said they left a bad taste in his mouth. Their special house sauce was lacking in flavor. Raspberry lemonade was very light raspberry. Not something I would ever say I have to rush back for. We were there in the middl
e of the afternoon. Our server had one other table and we sat for quite a while before getting check after we were done. She was attentive to our drinks during the meal.

First time we were here, it had just opened and wasn't worth the price. Tried it again after about a year of being opened, and the breakfast was great! Their breakfast potatoes are actual smashed potatoes, grilled perfectly. Totally worth it! You get $1 mimosas with the purchase of a meal. Filling, savory, great music and atmosphere. We'll be back!

Really good brunch spot. Tried the fries with pork belly and they were really good. Fries were crispy and coated with a delicious sauce.
Also got the pork belly burger and they even put the Asian chili oil flakes on it. Came with potatoes but it was whole potatoes instead of fries or cut.
Served was nice and price was reasonable.

We recently dined at Copper Boar in North Liberty for breakfast, and unfortunately, the experience fell short of expectations. The food was generally underseasoned, which made the meal rather bland. The only dish that had some flavor was the omelette, likely because of the variety of ingredients it contained, though it, too, could have used a bit more seasoning.
The most concerning part of the meal was the “breakfast potatoes.” What arrived on our plates were whole potatoes that had been burnt on the outside to the point where large charred pieces had to be cut off—they were simply inedible and potentially dangerous to ingest. Given that these were whole potatoes, the insides were completely unseasoned, and overall, they were a major disappointment. When ordering “breakfast potatoes,” one would expect the typical diced or sliced seasoned potatoes, not this misfire.
The toast was also an odd experience. It was unclear if the butter was sprayed on or applied in another way, but it didn’t add much to the meal.
Adding to the dissatisfaction was the “convenience fee” automatically added to our bill. While this practice is becoming more common in upscale, non-chain restaurants, it still feels like an unnecessary charge, especially since we weren’t asked how we intended to pay before the fee was applied. Accepting credit cards should be considered a cost of doing business, not an opportunity to tack on extra fees.
Overall, Copper Boar has some work to do in the kitchen and with its customer service approach. A bit more attention to seasoning and transparency around fees could go a long way in improving the dining experience.

If I was able to, I would give 4.5 stars. Pleasantly surprised by the options and food quality here. I didn’t expect too much from an American pub but our group went for brunch and enjoyed everything we got.
Their pancakes were dense yet fluffy with the perfect outside crispiness, but what really stole the show was their Nashville hot fish and chips. The cod was super moist and flakey and perfectly lightly battered. Their dill seasoned fries were incredible as well. I was a little underwhelmed by my omelette but I think the eggs were just overdone so it was a little dry. The whole menu has an excellent variety and some really tasty sounding combinations I would love to try. I would absolutely return for more of their lunch menu items!

Nice restaurant with good food. Even though it was busy the acoustics were so good it wasn’t loud and we could have a conversations. The Nashville Hot was not very hot. The chicken sandwich was a little dry. The fajita chicken bowl was good. I added shrimp and the shrimp was very good. I liked they gave us ice water when we sat down. Lots of TVs.

Best biscuits and gravy in Johnson county (I’ve tried Tin Roost, 30 Hop, Pullman). The biscuits are soft and moist and the gravy is rich! I wasn’t entirely sold on the Nashville Chicken and Waffles— it looked better than it tasted. My Father in law also got the PB banana pancakes— those were rich and delicious.
Great atmosphere and kind service. I will be back to try more of the menu! A new favorite of mine :)

I visit the corridor area regularly and often wind up at the Copper Boar. It’s always great. Visited the day after New Year’s this week and was blown away. The Bucatini Pomodoro was insanely good. Fresh pasta, amazing tomato cream sauce. Plenty of excellent sausage and shrimp. Ordered an old fashioned to start, and the tiramisu martini to finish. Both outstanding — the martini, holy cow, now that’s a dessert drink. Very reasonable prices for the quality. Don’t sleep on the amazing food and drink here. Hope to be back soon. Cheers!

Went without a reservation and the host acted like it was a huge inconvenience. Service from our waitress was good. I ordered the chicken strips that smelled like fish but surprisingly didn’t taste like it. The breading was a bit much and very rich. My daughter ordered spaghetti but the noodles were very thick and under cooked. I ordered a lemon drop martini but it tasted like bad water. The cost of the meals seemed high. 18 dollars for chicken Strips is crazy. We won’t be going back

We were a group of four. One had the mac n cheese and chicken and she said it was good. Another’s order was not delivered correctly so she ordered a grilled cheese sandwich she said was good. She wasn’t greatly impressed with the side of fruit. I ordered the mozz pesto sandwich w/ marinara: very good. However, the side caesar salad not that good. Another got a rib eye sandwich and coconut squash soup she said was good. Our server was new and very attentive, kind and patient.

The chicken and waffles here is nothing short of amazing. The place is pretty mellow with a nice vibe about it. I will 100% return the next time I’m in town. I ordered a cream espresso martini. It’s really good, but it needs about half the cream it comes with. It has enough where you don’t actually get to the drink until a few sips in. For a $12 drink, that shouldn’t be an issue. That’s the only negative I have. I ordered the banana pudding to go and it looks really good and was highly rated as well.

The pours for mixed drinks (martini and paloma ) were not very good. The food -- chicken fajita bowls -- arrived cold. The other sandwiches were satisfactory. Overall a ho hum costly experience. Nothing special about the indoor atmospher -- I can't give it a 👍 up or a repeat visit.

On a long trip across the US & randomly stumbled upon this place. We were pleased with reviews, so we gave it a go. The atmosphere was incredible! Inside & out. It's a classy but fun vibe, very spacious and open. Didn't feel crowded at all.
We were seated right away & had our drinks instantly. I asked for a couple more minutes when the server asked if we were ready to order.... he disappeared for 15 minutes before coming to get our order.
I asked the server the special, and he told me, then explained it. We went back and forth with questions to be sure I understood and then ordered it. When it came, it wasn't anything like he explained and I didn't like it. I ended up wasting over half of it trying to scrape the excess amount of sauce off of the entrée. It was very spicy, too. I told him I did not like it, and he said, "Sorry." & walked away. My daughter liked her cheeseburger, though.

Nice building, not entirely good service at all with the addition of severely overpriced food. Example is 14.95 for biscuits and gravy, or $26 for a choice steak and eggs, something you could make for under $10. Service mixed up multiple drinks aswell as serving undercooked bread. I would recommend this for maybe a 2 person date but any groups should find somewhere else to eat. Also be aware if you come as a group, they won’t mention there’s an automatic gratuity fee until they give you the bill. With all of this I rather just go to a regular steak house or a regular bar for food as you’ll receive much better services for the price too.

My friends and I drove from Cedar Rapids to North Liberty to try this restaurant. The host was nice he greeted us. We sat at the bar. I asked the bartender if they had Irish coffee. She said no I said do you have coffee? She said yes just black. I said can I get a coffee with Bailey’s? She said yes. So she made me that and my friends ordered their drinks and we got an appetizer. My friends ordered food which they said was ok. The chicken fingers and the pesto pasta. The bartender never smiled seemed almost aggravated to be there. I looked at the menu for a second drink and at the bottom of the menu it said Irish Coffee. I asked the bartender for one and she she said ok. (Which was strange because she said earlier they didn’t) so she got the milk out and frother and the frother must not have worked which visibly aggravated her. So she stood in front of us and dropped this spring looking thing into a shaker and shook it. Then says to her coworker sarcastically “I just love when people order drinks with cream” while right in front of us. she set it down in front of me and I said thank you and she said nothing and walked away. Between Cedar Rapids, Iowa City there are many places to eat that pretty much serve the same types of food. We like to try different places and see if we can’t find a new “go to “ place. But when you have staff that acts like what is on their menu is a Hassle for them to prepare and makes it uncomfortable why would we drive 30 min to that establishment when we could just go elsewhere. So we talked on the way home that this would be our last time going there. It was just uncomfortable and felt like we were a bother. Which is sad that had to be our experience.

Stopped in from out of town. 1st time there. It was about 7pm on Thursday and we were seated right away. Great selection of beers and N/A options. The 3 of us split the burrata and squash app. It was delicious. I had the pork schnitzel, it was so flavorful and balanced. Even the ceasar salad was fresh, nicely chopped Romaine with home made dressing and croutons. The boys had the club and Elliot burger with dill fries. We spent the whole time passing the food around because each item was so good. Service was amazing, I wish I could remember the servers name. Sweet girl and very attentive, I believe the owner/manager even stopped by a couple times. Great atmosphere as well. Highly recommend.

The food was pricey for the quality of it. I'm not impressed. It's ok but didn't see a wow factor for the price I paid.
The service was terrible, wait time for even refills on drinks eas ridiculous, asking for anything was like asking a favor and waitress was too busy to obligue. When the food came, waitress was nowhere to be found, in summary, I see why it is so empty. The atmosphere was superb, great place to go if there was a customer service concept present. To put this in perspective, this is the third time I go to this location, the three times it was a different restaurant name but, it seemed as though it was the same owner, something to think about.

A new gem to the North Liberty community. Clearly the word isn’t getting out fast enough because I expected them to be packed with deals like 1$ & 2$ mimosas!! The bartender spares no champagne either! My buzz was definitely buzzing. Not full of orange juice like some places. The spicy chicken and waffles was finger licking good. Add an additional side of syrup to it an it’s heavenly. I wish I could give a 4.5 because I hate taking away a full star for an atmosphere discrepancy but becoming they keep the doors open on breezy summer days, we had to deal with a majorly annoying fly. All in all a definite 4.5. We will definitely be back. For pics and videos check out my TIKTOK drkoko_kurves

The service and food was fabulous! Hannah, our bartender and personal attendant I would say as she gave us her recommendations with food and most popular items on the menu. It did not disappoint and we happily went back a few weeks later. Some friends had asked us how we liked it as they too were on the fence for the reasons listed at the top if this review. They went and had the same outstanding service and food we did. Hannah, our bartender deserves the most credit from this review. Customer service does not come natural to many these days and so many just don't put in the effort so when you meet someone who went above and beyond....tell them. We not only told Hannah in person and spoke to one of the owners about our great experience but it should be known what a delight it was to have such great customer service, kudos Hannah! I really hope this new pub in North Liberty continues to thrive and becomes another great staple to our list of highly visited restaurants.

We thought we liked this place and were treated horribly. We questioned a charge on the bill and were right. However, we could hear the staff and manager in the kitchen making fun of us. We almost wanted to just leave. The server came out and briefly tossed the ticket saying, “You wanted to see this?” She left and again we felt embarrassed.. we were overcharged in the end. We were made sit to wait while they sat at the bar playing on their phones. Again made to feel stupid, and then dismissed for their error without a “thank you” or “have a good day”. Insulting wait service and more insulting the manager joined in making fun of us and making us feel embarrassed and uncomfortable for their mistake. We will never returning and sad because we loved the food.
And we will spread the word.

Friendly, transparent about delay's and great food. A little pricey but on par with similar restaurants in the area

The food was fantastic. My wife and I had the pork schnitzel sandwich and the lemon meringue waffle. Both were wonderful. The dollar mimosas were also very delightful. We were there with a large party and the wait staff were on top of everything. Highly recommend the Copper Boar.
