Sooooooo good. Food was amazing, they have great options. I ordered a grill cheese they had as a daily option which came with meat but I asked them to leave it off and they made that modification no problem.
The beer is excellent and the environment is very cool.

Took our family here while everyone was home for Thanksgiving, and I had really high hopes. Unfortunately, the experience was just average. We tried six different dishes, but none stood out as exceptional. The orange chicken bowl, for example, was just three chicken strips—not what we expected. While the food was prepared and delivered incredibly fast—faster than a fast food restaurant—it left us wishing for more quality. On the positive side, our server was very friendly, which made the experience more enjoyable. Overall, it was okay, but nothing special.

Great atmosphere - that is the best part. The beers are OK... but that's about it - didn't have a beer that I wanted to have 2 of. The food is wet.... meaning they over sauce everything, making it a really messy food experience. Service is mediocre, sat with empty beer glasses more than once.

Nick, as our table server, was prompt, friendly and totally on top of things.. 👍 Grade A

Prior to our table seating, however -- as a twenty minute wait time clicked off -- we sat at the bar (with natural hopes of being served a pre-dinner cocktail). Unfortunately, my brother and I were snubbed to the hilt. Grade F 👎

*The Bromance Pint Draft and Nacho Platter (along with Nick's professionalism) easily made up for the sour bar experience.

Review №34

Big Grove is better. I mean, unless you want to drink a marijuana beverage (hemp based) and watch kids running around everywhere, I would pass. The manager and owners of this place suck too- terrible attitudes. I went to the 4/20 party, and the party was everywhere besides the “VIP/ Party” area. I walked up there, looked at everyone that appeared miserable, walked down the stairs, and gave my bracelet to some random that wanted to check it out. The food and beer is okay- just okay. This place tries to be “hip” and exciting, but it’s a big square with baby bowling, a VIP/ party room that should be a storage area, a patio swarming with wild children, and a bar that couldn’t be in a worse place in the entire space. They do some cute Elsa/ Frozen kid activities in the middle of the summer and other kid centric stuff… but there’s something missing here. There was a cool bird event once… but as far as a brewery destination, there are far better places to visit. The cheese curds were good though, but not enough to change my overall Attitude and perception of this place. The definition of a field day is an athletic competition for school children, and that’s exactly what it is. Big kids running the show and pretending their problems are “rocks” and little kids playing on the patio. I thought this spot would gain some Traction, but it’s like the guy leading the charge used to run the Marriot Breakfast Buffet or something. (Not terrible, but not something you really want.) Good job guys- please 86 the gyro/ rice bowl- it doesn’t work. Salmon sandwich doesn’t sound too appealing either. Whoever is responsible for the Korean influence- bravo.

Had the bulgogi steak street tacos which were honestly pretty awful. Dry, chewy, very little flavor, and hard grissle in spots that were inedible. I tried 4 different beers, all lagers, and they were all very middle of the road and nothing too special. However, the space is an extremely cool place to hang out and is obviously well thought out.

I literally travel the world in search of good beer and was lucky someone pointed me this direction while I was passing through town. It's been a long time since I've hit a brewey that knocked it out of the park on all their offerings. From IPA to Lager to Stout, crushed it each time. No mediocrity, no so-so, every pour and I sampled small pours of over half their menu, each was a stellar example.

Hamburger had no flavor other than sauce that was just Thousand Island dressing…so much that it made bun mushy. McDonald’s burgers have more flavor. And that’s sad because Field Day charges 3 times more. They told us how wonderful the soup of the day was…then came back to say they were all out. This was at 11 AM! So disappointed with food, but it’s a beautiful place.

The chill brewery vibes here are immaculate. They have so many different seating options, the twinkle lights on the patio are a vibe. While they don't have a ton of drink options they have enough, that you're bound to be able to pick something you'll be happy with. We got the pizza pretzel which was bomb, the chips and salsa not so much, salsa tasted like ketchup. Also they have a climbing area for the littles, to keep the kids entertained! First time here and not disappointed. We tried the Korean fries and they were excellent. Just the right level of spice. Ai had the Brat burger and My wife had the Korean chicken burger. Her's was great, actually tasted and crunched just like Korean fried chicken. If you know, you know. The brat burger I am sure was perfectly made but, was not to my liking. Absolutely nothing wrong with it, I just didn't like the combination of flavors.

The only bad thing I could say about this place is, turn the music down. You have a tremendous amount of noise from people talking and then you try to drown it out with music.

1 huge plus in my book is the CLEAN bathrooms. Everywhere else in Johnson county, you stick to the floor in the bathrooms. Here everything was clean in the middle of lunch rush with a full house.

The Half Fancy burger was super delicious. The sauce they use is savory and sweet. We also tried the corn dip. That too was very good. My wife thinks it lacked flavor but for me I enjoyed it. The French fries were a mix of crispy and soggy so we didn’t like the inconsistency. But none the less we enjoyed this place and the atmosphere. Would try again soon.

Also bathrooms are clean and for men there’s a shelf for your drink.

Wednesdays special was half off wine 🍷. I tried the rose but was not a fan at all.

It’s a very typical Iowa restaurant. A sports bar with lots of tvs, nothing special. I really couldn’t tell the difference inside this place to most other places. The service was ok. They give you the option to order on your phone but then your special requests are very limited. You get your own soda refills. The more I have to do myself the less tips your wait staff gets. I had the KO chicken sandwich. It was kinda burned (some of the fried areas were black).
