The Baked Bear offers rich original options for sundaes and ice cream, with their Brownie based or cookie based sundae, and ice cream sandwiches with your choice of cookies for the outer layer.

Available ice cream flavors are also a bit more unique to push you outside your comfort zone and send you on a new experience with your summertime taste buds. Some traditional flavors are even omitted on their own, so be prepared to be bold in your selection.

The line can be fast but long and is cramped once inside the store. Know what you want when you get to the right of the counter or your experience will be rushed by the staff. I got to the register with my guest and they took her order but did not make it before ringing us up because she had to change her order when an ingredient was out. I paid and they had us wait to make her's while the continued help the next two guests. This was disappointing as my ice cream was melting while o waited for her so we wouldn't be eating our desserts on our own. There is room for improvement here. Others were shifted to the side the same causing a backup of people paid but not served. But we will still return for the selections.

Very unique and interesting concept. So customizable with all the different cookie/ice cream flavors and toppings. I would say the portion size was decent for the price, and the overall taste was very good, but the cookies (lemon, blueberry) were definitely too sweet for my taste.

Likely not somewhere I will frequent in the future but definitely something I'd recommend everyone to try at least once.

My new favorite dessert place! The customer service is wonderful and everything I’ve tried here is delicious! We loved the brownies, but my favorite is 2 chocolate chip cookies with chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream in between. Cannot get enough of it! Not a ton of room to sit, but a cute place. You’ll need to park on the street or at a garage and walk, but it’s a nice area.

My friends and I tried The Baked Bear half a dozen cookies for the first time. They are absolutely delicious!!! So far i’ve only tried my “ gooey butter cake” cookie and the “funfetti”. i highly recommend the gooey butter cake cookie!!!!!!!! it’s very soft and has a sweet custard taste. the funfetti is great if you like soft sugar cookies!

This place was soooo delish! The ice cream flavors were awesome and I got a cookie which was also awesome. I cannot wait to go back and order a cookiewhich- but I wasn’t quite ready for the sugar overload. The employees were attentive but also patient (I was carrying my baby and also trying to juggle a sample and then my actual cone). I am probably going to become a regular here.

Came here the other day, absolutely terrible experience. Customer service was terrible, employees were rude and rushed me. And one I got my ice cream sandwich the ice cream was hard as a rock with tons of frost. So much potential here but never lives up to it. Needs to management I feel.

If you like ice cream, cookies, brownies... this is the place for you. Brownie bowl, cake bowl, custom ice cream sandwich or just a scoop of your favorite flavor, there's something for every sweet tooth. My son loves the brownie sandwhich & I think the S'Mores ice cream is out of this world.

The service is fast and friendly. Be prepared to spend a small fortune. There are a couple small tables inside and a handful outside, however the shop is conveniently located in a gathering area of Pike & Rose filled with spots to enjoy your Baked Bear.

I am newly vegan and to find a place that not only offers vegan options but the options they have are really good is one in a million. They, as of now, only have two vegan cookie options and one vegan ice cream option. I absolutely love coming here and just talking to the owners and seeing what items are coming and going. Visited twice on our recent trip to Bethesda. Located in a super cute shopping center right next to amazing ramen. If you eat dinner first, skip dessert and come here. If you are vegan, they have a vegan cookie and vegan ice cream. They are stored and scooped separately (with a separate dairy free labeled scoop) so could work for allergies too. The vegan ice cream was delicious. Rich and creamy with great flavor. The vegan chocolate chip cookie was also delicious. Couldn't even tell it was vegan. A non vegan in our party had the macadamia nut cookie which was delicious and the cake batter cookie which was rich, soft and divine. The cake batter cookie may not make the best ice cream sandwich unless you are ok eating it with a spoon because it is so soft, but for flavor alone it's amazing.

The ice cream sandwich I got was really good. My boyfriend overdosed on water (8 cups), and I think he needs immediate medical attention but otherwise it’s all good. The water was actually really refreshing. I also came here to get a brownie once with my boyfriend and it was very tasty. It was warmed up but it wasn’t too fudgy or sticky, so I’d definitely recommend the brownie or the ice cream sandwich (it’s customizable!!) to customers. 10/10 experience, will come again.

Was a 5 star before and during Covid but has expectedly for a food business it has declined a bit since then. Only complaint about the food is how large it is. Do not underestimate the size of the food it can be desert for 2 even. Brownies and cookies are warm always. Excellent location and next to some other nice places so very convenient to get desert here.

Service is bad here. To sum it up, it seems like it's run by teenagers who are annoyed you ordered something. They aren't warm, friendly, or communicative.

The butter cookie was yummy, but the chocolate chip cookie was rock hard. How do you explain this to a little one, as they try to chomp on it?

The ice cream flavors weren't impressive, and I have honestly had better at Baskin or Marble Slab. And that's saying something.

They have the best cookies- hands down. But when you are paying gourmet prices - $42 for 12 cookies to be delivered through the Seamless app, you expect them to follow basic safety protocols- like sealing their boxes. Bad! I got a vanilla ice cream with hot fudge and, one friend got the same with whipped cream, and my other friend got vanilla ice cream on brownie sandwich. When you arrive prices aren’t listed, and it’s difficult to see the prices inside before you’ve waited in line the ten minutes, and they don’t make you pay immediately, only having you pay once they’ve already made the ice cream, so you don’t even get a chance to say no before they unload the fact that it’s 25 bucks for three people.

The vanilla ice cream was awful, the only flavor present was sugar, it was overwhelming, and frankly leagues below even off brand supermarket ice cream. The hot fudge tasted like lukewarm flavorless goo which was once stored next to chocolate. for my friend who got whipped cream, the hot fudge was placed ON TOP of the whipped cream, causing it to slide off onto the side of the cup. I tried my friends brownie and it was hard as a rock.

It’s telling when you see children throwing away half eaten tubs of ice cream. Really bad, scummy business practices, horrifically overpriced. God do not eat here.

Website says open untill 11pm. We had a family dinner with 7 people and decided to walk over for our first time at Baker Bear. We arrived at 10:05 and they were closed. Very dissapointed. Why post you are open until 11. Many other people wanted to have desert.

I went there around 2:30pm today to pick up an order. Sign on window said they open at 2pm but doors were locked, service windows closed shut and not a soul in sight. Pretty soon a line started to form behind me as I waited 10 minutes and STILL no one showed up. There were no other signs indicating a reason why store wasn’t open. Unacceptable and unprofessional.

The worst staff. To the owner please check your camera from 6:30 to 7 Pm on july 3rd. They are chatting (4 of them) and not caring to serve customers. They let a very slow you g trainee first week person make our ice cream, it looked so bad . People were standing in line and left, because no one seemed to care to serve them. Will never be coming back.

Terrible customer service. I Waited in line and got to the window at 9:57pm and was then told they would not serve me, but they served the couple in front of me. When I explained that there was a line and I had been waiting in it, the manager responded by saying, “there was no line, I’ve been here all night” and proceeded to close the window in my face. Apparently they rather close early than serve a customer that had been waiting. Awful business.

The cookies and ice cream here are not worth the wait anyways. Too much hype for a terrible product.

The ice cream is good, but the inside of the place is so dirty! Two staff were working and three were just on their phones. Staff water bottles, receipts, and old bowls littered the counter tops inside. No one was wearing gloves or hairnets while they served the food. I saw people on their phones and then go directly to scooping ice cream.

Disappointed, the food here doesn’t taste nearly as good as it looks. The concept is good, but the cookies taste like grocery store cookies and the icecream doesn’t have much flavor. The employee that helped me had an AirPod in and didn’t say a word after handing me icecream, even after tipping. Overpriced and not good enough quality or service to warrant another trip here.

You can't go wrong with any dessert you choose. My son & I both wanted an ice cream sandwich but had no idea they would each be the size of a small planet!! Hahaha.

The cookie was soft with a little chew, and the ice cream was fantastic. With an enormous variety of flavors, there is something for everyone. From brownie sundaes to a simple scoop on a cone!

We found this place because we were looking for something vegan and gluten free for my daughter. We went out of our way to drive here after finding all the GF and vegan menu options. When we got there, they had nothing vegan or gluten free on the menu. What a disappointment. We left without buying anything and would never go back after the false advertising.

HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT. This place went so downhill post covid and hasn’t bounced back.
I had gone 3 times prior to Covid and was so excited to go again. It was amazing those 3 times. I hyped this place up so much to my boyfriend, getting him excited too by using their Instagram profile. Much of the appeal of going is being able to share photos of the interior space and especially the sandwiches. We drove from Virginia to get here and after all that, we still couldn’t go inside. Fine I get that, covid. They never really had seating inside anyways. But then, instead of serving a beautiful creation in a cardboard plate like they used to, they served us ice cream MUSHED into a plastic tubberware container. While it tasted the same, we certainly couldn’t take a photo of it. I should have taken a photo of what they served us (I only took one after I ate half). On top of that, the people behind the counter/window were unpleasant. What a waste of a drive.

The staff don't take off their full headphones or earpods when interacting with customers. No sign with cookies available (they main sign is frequently wrong). Overall vibe from the high school staff that I am bothering them when approching the window (always closed).

I don’t like leaving bad reviews because I’ve worked in customer service extensively throughout my life but this one needs to be made. The ice cream and cookies are delicious, but the customer service is terrible. To the employee wearing AirPods that helped us, at least act nice even though you do not want to be there. When someone asks for an item and you say we don’t have that with an attitude, at least offer an alternative solution or be more mindful of your tone. Definitely need to be retrained so business isn’t turned away.

This location does not even deserve 1 star. It’s unfortunate because I love the Baked Bear as a company but this location has horrible service. I have now driven to this location over an hour away just for it three times and each time I’ve gone they have decided to close down early. Three times. On this last time, they closed the store for 30 minutes and put up a sign when they would return. I waited outside in the cold since I drove all the way just for it, for the worker to open the window at the time they were supposed to return and tell me they decided to close the entire store for the night. I’ve gone to this establishment three times and they have yet to be open during business hours all three times. Just unacceptable.

This place sells ice cream. In January. And won't let you inside the store. Even though there's plenty of space.

Nobody greeted me. Nobody got their order while I waited. I don't care how good the sandwiches are, it's not worth the lack of welcoming hospitality and freezing my bum off to get them!

Yummy! I got the gooey butter cake cookie (which was heavenly 😇🤤) with the blackberry crumble and Nutella chocolate chip. Ask for it pressed/toasted, so you get the cookie nice and warm and gooey (but be aware that whichever cookie is on the bottom will still be pretty hard cuz the ice cream’s cold).

great menu, I love the ice cream sandwiches. however, everytime I go, the person at the window is rude. sometimes the hours are inaccurate too? the quality of the business isn’t represented through staff.

Underwhelming.

Nice concept. Pick your cookies, ice cream, and toppings, and then decide to get it hot pressed or not.

I got chocolate chip cookies, the baked bear ice cream (blue cake batter with brownies and sprinkles), and hot fudge, pressed. It looked great but tasted medicare.

Mostly it was the cookies. They were rock hard and tasted like grocery store cookies.

The ice cream was fine but not particularly memorable.

I didn't finish most of it.

Worth a shot though. Maybe you'll have better luck.

Absolutely delicious! If you like ice cream, and if you like cookies, then THIS is your place. There are lots to choose from: many different cookie types, and ice cream flavors, and extra toppings. I recommend going on an empty stomach, unless you split it with someone, since the portion size is massive. I tried the cookie of the month (s'mores), the caramel/pretzel/fudge ice cream, and brownie bits on top. It was heaven in a cup 😍

The line I stood in to get this sandwich was well worth it! The cookies are so thick and delicious and the amount of ice cream you get between each sandwich makes it all worth it.

After trying baked bear in California for the first time and being complete addicts, we’ve been hooked to find locations whenever we travel. Happy to have found this location on our trip to DC. It is a busy location but it could just be because it was a Friday night. Knocked 1 star due to the Cookie Monster cookie being extremely hard and inedible. Love their cookie sandwich (especially the gooey cookie) so much that I won’t let that derail me from my mission of continuously searching for baked bear everywhere we go.

Unfortunately, I didn’t get the chance to indulge in the wonderful Ice cream sandwich I had heard so much about. When my friends and I arrived at 930, the line was quite extended, and there was already an employee there saying no more customer orders could be taken because they had to close at 10. As a customer, I feel that was poor service. Orders should’ve been taken until 10 pm or until supplies ran out.

Amazing ice cream sandwiches. Get the gooey butter cookie and blackberry crumble ice cream. You won't regret it. Portions are large so good to split between 2 people.

Its ice cream and cookies. So can't go wrong. IMO I would come back, however its not my favorite place ever. The cookies were decent and the ice cream was decent and you could add toppings. Very instagramable though

I have been here dozens of times. I do love their ice cream and for the limited flavors they have they are usually excellent. Would not recommend the flavors that have pretzels in them unless you like soggy pretzels. The cookies are all extremely good. I wouldn't recommend getting a sandwich on a hot day unless you want 2 cookies, since the sandwich can't really be eaten as a sandwich considering how fast it'll actually melt. Get the cookie + ice cream option and you likely won't be disappointed!

They changed their setup for covid and have the ordering windows facing the street now. I would think this should allow them to step up their offering and have more flavors + toppings available. They haven't done it yet though.

Good ice cream store with fair prices for the upscale district. I’ve never had an ice cream sandwich which is what the store is famous for, but I usually get a scoop on a cone and it tastes great. Not a huge selection of flavors, but its location at the Pike & Rose center is convenient if you get dinner nearby. Overall, not a bad place to get dessert.

Order from this location it looks like you go through the heavy security like a airport security there are two windows and you cannot go inside the shop and if you stay in the wrong window you get punished

Really good treats if your craving creative creations. The customer service is pretty good, they are a bunch of nice people. Though sometimes it does take a while to get your order even on not that busy days. All in all it’s pretty good except for the one time I got no spwinkles.

I love this place! I moved out of the area but when I come around I try to visit. The cookies and brownies are always fresh. I went the day after Father’s Day and they were out of Vanilla. I was distraught haha, the guy suggested cake batter and to my surprise it was so good! I’ll stick to that flavor from now on.

If you love ice cream sandwiches, this is the place for you!!! Very thick, and so many combinations to choose from! I only wish you could go in to see the ice cream and choose one, like at Baskin, but I’m sure the inside is closed for Covid.

The ice cream is okay, not the best I've had. The cookies are also not the best but still good. The toppings are standard as is the service. Nothing impeccable to rave about. A solid three stars here, in my opinion! Also, due to Covid, the "experience" has been diminished as well. Ordering at the cool counter watching your ice cream take form into an esthetic cookie ice cream sandwich has now been reduced to order over an enclosed counter unable to see your order be made. Open trays have been replaced by closed plastic containers.

Went to pay for my ice cream and the girl asked if I wanted to tip, I said no thanks. It seems inappropriate to flat out verbally ask for a tip but no big deal. When I got my receipt I saw I was charged an extra $4.60. I asked the girl and she refunded me and gave me an unauthorized charge receipt. Strange experience and did not appreciate the extra charge that coincidentally appeared after saying no thanks to a tip.

Definitely a spot for people who have an extra sweet tooth. Both flavors I tried, espresso and bear batter, were very sweet. I had the butter cake cookie and it was ok. My SO had the chocolate chip cookie, which was really good when it was hot. Around $8 for a cookie bowl, so it was a little pricey. Not bad, but I wouldn’t personally come back.

Sweet staff and even sweeter dessert!!
The cookies taste homemade, like something your grandma would make.
I had the vegan chocolate chip ice cream which tasted unreal, it was so delicious.

There is a pretty courtyard with plenty of low walls to sit, plus public seating and beautiful landscaping, where you can enjoy your treat!
