I visited primarily for the bowling experience. We ordered desserts and water during our visit. However, one of the bowling shoes provided to a member of our group had a hole in it, the others had damaged shoe laces, the sofa seat at our lane was ripped with a noticeable and unsightly gash on the arm, and the glass bottle used to serve our water was broken at the top. These issues are unacceptable for a business located in a premium area like Pike and Rose, especially given the high prices charged for bowling. It’s disappointing to encounter unwearable shoes, damaged furniture, and broken serving items as a paying customer. On a positive note, our server was friendly and attentive.

Spent an afternoon bowling with family over the Christmas holidays. Overall, we had a great time. While I’m no bowling expert, the lane we were assigned seemed to have an odd slope. The fountain drinks were a bit watered down, but the truffle fries were delicious.

Pinstripes Bethesda has always been our family favorite place to go. The new years party's was a disaster. Overcrowded, unorganized and a horrible experience. After the party we made a reservation for lunch which was a complete chaos. We waited for almost an hour and still did not get any attention from a waiter and were not able to order our food. We decided to leave with great disappointment from the children. Pinstripes shame on you. Talk to your customers, explain the situation. My son never wants to come again.

Our family had a horrendous experience at the Noon Year's Eve party today. We have always loved going to Pinstripes and have hosted multiple birthday parties here in the past. Which is why we were shocked with how horrible, and frankly dangerous, the event was today. So many things went wrong including, but not limited to, the following:

1. Incredibly overcrowded. People were streaming into the hall.
2. Not enough for kids to do - just a lady singing and a few craft tables. Hard to reach the activities because too crowded.
3. No food at all at the event - not even candy or a bread basket!
4. Advertised kids cocktails but only had some carafes sparkling water, lemonade and juice. And even those ran out halfway through event!
5. Had to make reservations if you want to eat but few reservations available. And food wasn't available until noon.
6. Ball drop didn't happen. Parents had to rip open the net holding the balloons.
7. During the insanity of the ball drop, my son got pushed into a table and hurt his head
8. Kids were popping balloons w/ arts and crafts scratch sticks. No one was stopping these kids and the noise wound up scaring younger children, including my son.
9. One of the only things they had for kids to make was an art and craft gift box, which gave many parents the impression they would give us treats or something to put in them, but shockingly, they didn't give us anything to put in them!
10. Pinstripes advertised there would be party favors for the kids but at the event they had nothing but a "Pinstripes medal," which was random and had nothing to do with New Year's or a party.
11. Thank goodness I was one of the lucky few who had reserved a bowling lane for after the event. BUT even though I ordered food as soon as we arrived, it did not start coming until the end of our reserved time. We had to move out of our lane to eat the last bits of our meal and dessert.
12. The kids meals were supposed to include parmesan bread as a starter but it never came. I asked our server to request it at least twice and he apologized for the delay but still, nothing.
13. We were so stressed by the event and delayed food that we would have left Pinstripes altogether but the complimentary meal was only good for today and by that point, our kids were starving and cranky and we couldn't easily relocate them to a restaurant! The waiter kept assuring me he was prioritizing our order but we waited at least 45 minutes to even get one dish.
14. In all of the chaos, my husband lost his favorite Ray-ban sunglasses! I asked all the servers and one of the managers if they found it but they said no. I got on my hands and knees to look under furniture but couldn't find them even though I know we left them there! One of the waiters even told me he remembered seeing them. They took my number and said they would call me if they turned up, but I've already lost hope. On top of everything else, this was just so upsetting.

I arrived at Pinstripes Bethesda at 2:40pm on 12/23/24. I sat at the bar, I was the only person at the bar and I wasn't greeted by the bartender (Nemo- I believe that's how you spell it). I had to get her attention for her to serve me. She never introduced herself and although I was the only patron at the time. After a few minutes a few other patrons showed up and she greeted every one and got their drink order. I again had to flag her down for a drink. After the patrons who arrived after me were serviced and placed their orders and I flagged her down, again, I was able to place my order. When my husband arrived she eagerly greeted him and got his drink orders even when handing us the menus it was clear that I was 2nd class as she made it an point to take care of him first and dismissively handed me my menus I ordered the filet (medium well). When it arrived, it was severely over done. I had waited 45 minutes at this point and was terribly hungry. My husband had to flag down the hostess to find a manager (Will). When he approached he never greeted us with his name instead he said, "what can I do for you?" We told him the issues and he took a new order. I told him how hungry I was and he insisted it would only take 10-12 minutes for a remake. It took almost double that time to get job food. I only got my food after, yet again, flagging down the bartender who then said she would check on the food. She finally brought my food, which was still overdone, and she and Will were loudly discussing the situation at the POS to which I hear Will say in a condescending tone, "I mean, it only took 13 minutes " which was not accurate. No one checked on us or offered to find a way to make it right. Not sure is this is race related.

When placing the reservation I received a notice that the price was going to be 40 dollars due to holiday Santa event. Firstly that’s just a way to up charge people for no reason especially when we don’t have kids. Secondly when we got an our tab the were charging us 45 instead of the 40 stated while placing the reservation. Mind you we were ten people so that is already 50 added to the bill. It a good place but 45 dollars instead of 35 just for a Santa being present even we were told it was going to be 40

Went for bowling during a weeknight. There were plenty lanes open and not a lot of people. Bowling price was reasonable. The service and food was great. The entire venue is amazing with great ambiance! There's outdoor patio seating and they have fire lamps, which is nice during the cold months. There was a parking garage nearby that was free for two hours. We had stayed for a little over two hours so parking wound up only being $3.

FYI, the metro also stops by this area. I think the stops are either Twinbrook or North Bethesda.

We went there for the first time and were seated on the second floor patio. The restaurant seems pretty big and has a good ambiance. We ordered cauliflower and cheese polenta, and it was very good, especially the cheese polenta. We wanted to order one more, but by the time we asked, they were closing the kitchen. The gnocchi and the pork were good, but the pork is definitely overpriced. The brownie with ice cream was awesome, and it definitely satisfied my sweet tooth. The other issue was that even though it wasn't crowded, our server wasn't near us for us to request other things. We had to wait for a longer time or ask other servers to notify him. The server was good and friendly, but I wish he was around us for our requests. Other than that, we had a good experience, and this restaurant is definitely added to the to-go restaurants list for us.

We recently had a Rehearsal Dinner at Pinstripes and it was a very happy occasion and a huge success!!

On a scale of 1-5 I give Selin Sik a 10! We worked with Selin over a period of months to plan this event. Selin was always very helpful, responsive and kind. Selin helped us to create a wonderful, delicious, fun and very memorable evening!

On the night of the event the whole Pinstripes team worked together to make sure everything was just how we wanted it to be! I wish I knew everyone’s name because everyone was great and a special thank you to Selin (who not only helped us so much with planning and was actually at our event) and David, the House Manager and Adrian, a great waiter.

Thank you all very much!

Food was not very good. Two members of my party ordered the hamburger. One was to be medium rare and arrived charred and dry. The other burger was to be medium and it arrived well done.
In addition, it was cold outside so we were not able to eat on the terrace. However, to our surprise, there was a dog in the restaurant, unleashed, and roaming around to other tables. That is in violation of Maryland law regarding dogs in restaurants. I do NOT recommend dining at Pinstripes.

We went to the bowl during happy hour on a Wednesday, and the place was nearly empty, which was ideal for us. It was great to have the entire hall practically to ourselves, and our toddler had an absolute blast. The food was surprisingly excellent—better than you'd expect at a bowling alley. The service was a bit on the slow side, but considering how quiet it was, that’s understandable. Overall, it was a fun and relaxed outing, and we'd definitely go back again

Awful event experience. Do not host your event here unless you want to be underwhelmed and overcharged. The venue is run down and poorly maintained for as much as it costs. There was severe water damage to the floor in the ballroom and nearly every seat had stains on it. Even before the event we were hit with extreme minimum spend levels because our party ended up being smaller than we’d anticipated, and after promising to make it work, they blasted my credit card with a surprise $600 the day after the event. That’s after they failed to deliver what was promised, dumb things like $100 for a microphone that wasn’t provided, food served as a buffet instead of family style, etc. What’s worse? The pasta was super bland and the salmon was severely overcooked. Take your business elsewhere.

Met some friends here for dinner. The atmosphere and decor was nice. There's a 2nd floor which is very inviting. I gave this restaurant only two stars due to lack of food variety and I did not like the fact that the servers bring food to your table on the second floor from the kitchen on an elevator without being covered( what if there is a group of people are on this same elevator breathing all over your food). If you're vegan forget, do not waste your time! I ordered the truffle fries, they were served cold. Our waiter was below average.

My fiancee and I went to Pinstripes right after moving into the area to enjoy bocce and happy hour. We enjoyed the atmosphere, the hostesses were great, and the drinks were good. The reason I am writing this review though is because they messed up. We did not receive ample service throughout our reservation time and were very disappointed in this. After speaking with the assistant manager, Tomas, he was EXTREMELY apologetic and disappointed in the fact that that happened. He listened to my concerns about our experience very thoughtfully and immediately jumped into action, covering our drinks and food and apologizing greatly while providing us with his business card and additional benefits for future visits. No establishment will have 0 hiccups, but when they do, Pinstripes knows how to handle it and assure their patrons that it is not the norm. I will be bringing all of my friends and family here who visit the area. Great work by everyone on this team!

We hosted my daughter’s baptism reception in the banquet room on the second floor of Pinstripes last month. It is a nice space but we were extremely unhappy with the service we received. We paid an upcharge for the buffet option, as this was recommended to us because they said the food would be constantly replenished. The appetizers were never replenished at all and for the main course over half of our guests (including myself) were waiting for 20+ minutes to get their first round of food. And when the food finally came it was not enough for the people who were waiting. I was so embarrassed by this! And if anything, there were less guests at the event than the total number I had given the restaurant two weeks in advance, as asked. They also changed one of the menu items from what we had requested without even letting us know. It was clear to me that either they had overbooked the restaurant with too many events and the kitchen couldn’t keep up or that they do this on purpose to have to put out less food/spend less money. We were extremely unhappy about this as we find the food and drink to be a very important part of any event we throw. After being informed of our situation, the management team did refund us a small amount but they never explained how they got to this amount and I did not feel it was enough for all that had went wrong. I will definitely not be hosting any more events at Pinstripes and please be warned!!

Had a wonderful time and great food at pinstripes.

Pinstripes is gourmet food and upscale family entertainment all in one place. When you walk in, you may lose sense thinking you are arriving at the typical bowling alley with its beautiful restaurant ambience. This evening we went upstairs to go participate in bowling and had a great meal.

On the way to the bowling alley, I walked by a wedding reception taking place. With a small glance of the reception hall it was set up beautiful and the party seemed to have had a great time.
.
The bowling experience was pretty good not quite on par with an AMF bowling alley, but definitely gets the job done and provides a beautiful window view of the surrounding area. The only downside to the bowling experience was the rental shoe selection. The shoes were very worn and needed to be replaced.

The food was absolutely superb. The pasta was very flavorful and was a new item on the menu. The legendary lobster pizza was also just as great was and filling enough that I had to take five slices home. Most of all the wait staff was extremely friendly and tended to both restaurant needs and bowling Lane needs.

Will absolutely return.

The food was amazing, including how the bowling balls were styled like the ones you'd play in billiards.

I usually come here for brunch (the waffles are to die for) and the brunch drinks are amazing. I tried their lunch for the first time and my meal was a 10/10 along with the margarita Italiano also 10/10. I'll definitely be back for lunch.

This is regarding my lunch experience.

Haven't tried this place for lunch. since my assumption was how good a lunch food will be in a bowling place???!! right? well I couldn't be more wrong.

-- An absolute hidden gem in this area. I am shocked that I haven't been here before. I had the super salad (it's too good. kale, fig, pecan... !!) and the Ahi tuna bowl. lunch combo was for $16!!!!! r u kidding me? that's like chipotle price. The server was nice and attentive. I had the gin drink which was very refreshing. will be there more often that's for sure.

I visited the restaurant for Mother’s Day Brunch. I was excited to see what was available in the buffet but unfortunately the food was poor quality, not worth $45 per person. The potatoes were heavily salty. Also Chicken tenders and fries at a buffet line is not exactly top quality. Another thing to note, one of the hostess allowed my family to sit anywhere in the high top area then he came back to tell us to move to another isolated high top with no window or lighting. He told us there was another reservation coming to use that table… we ate our meals and the table was empty the entire time. Very daunting experience won’t be coming back here again

"I'm done with this place! After years of loyal patronage, yesterday's brunch experience was a disgusting display of incompetence. An 11am reservation with a 1-hour seat limit for a buffet?! And to add insult to injury, the mimosa station was only for mothers, despite my explicit reason for visiting being an early Mother's Day celebration for my mom! Unprofessional and unpleasant don't even begin to describe it. I'll make sure friends and family know to steer clear of this dump!"

This is my first visit, and after this, I can't see myself going to a regular bowling alley. The restaurant & bocce ball lane is on the first floor. Bowling & another bocce lane is on the second floor. The only downside was all of the stairs. I didn't see an elevator, but I didn't ask either.

The service was good. There was a glass bottle of water & glasses on the lane table. The food was great. It was so seasoned well. It was such a chill atmosphere. I will definitely be back.

Cons (not many) -
Call to see if there is an elevator for those who need one.

The lane table is a tad bit long. If someone is sitting on the coach, you have to really squeeze by to bowl.

The lane to me seems shorter than what I'm used to & there are tables on the end of the coach that take away from the lane.

Paid parking lot right across the street but to me a decent price. $3 for 2 hours.

I went there to celebrate my bday and thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it. The restaurant was gracious enough to give me and my party the private room. We got there 30 minutes before the brunch buffet ended but the staff was very accommodating to make sure we got what we needed before it closed. It’s unfortunate that the bottomless mimosas are only included in the buffet, but it was good! They even gave me some swag for my birthday and a big ole ice cream Sunday to top it off! Over all everything was good from the drinks to the food! I plan to return in the future.

Soo, I came here for my birthday brunch and it was amazing. Starting with planning, I called and did a reservation on the phone and it was sooo easy. They were sweet and patient. I had to call back like three times to add more people and they were completely fine with it. This was my first brunch but it won’t be my last. On arrival, they gave me like a whole section and I was like thank you soooo much!! We had a ton of room and our servers were really attentive. The brunch food was AWESOME!! I’m torn between the chocolate fountain and the ham as my favorite. Everyone asked where I found this place and stated that they were coming back asap. Oh and the grapefruit mimosa was the best I have ever had. I don’t often write reviews but they deserve a standing ovation. Brunch at Pinstripes might be my new birthday tradition. Thank you so much. The way they bent over backwards to make my day special will forever be remembered.

I recently dined at Pinstripes restaurant and was highly disappointed with my experience. Not only did they take an unreasonably long time to bring out our food, but when it finally arrived, the quality was lackluster at best. The flavors were bland, and the presentation was uninspired. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking a satisfying dining experience.

Review №174

Myself and guests arrived for brunch and bowling for my birthday. The food and service we received were all great. My biggest concern came with the reservation for bowling and the buffet. There was a miscommunication about how their full service bowling lanes operated with the buffet. I was under the impression that we would be allowed to eat at a table and then head upstairs for bowling after. That proved to be incorrect. I was also charged up front for the number of guests I was expecting for bowling. The number of guests I made the reservation for was 12, the number of people who actually showed up was 10, the number of people who actually bowled was 6. I was still charged for 10. I asked if I could have the difference refunded to me and was told a manager would come speak to me for the refund. That never happened. Because we did not have a table in the dining room, my guests and I had to carry plates from the buffet up the stairs and into the bowling alley and then had to sit in the sofas to eat which was uncomfortable. We ate in the high top tables instead and there were not enough chairs for the entire party. Also, you only have two hours to bowl which meant our time began as soon as I arrived. I arrived early so i could greet my guests as they arrived while my two hour bowling time unknowingly ticked away. When our two hours expired, we were asked to leave immediately and could not extend our time. We asked our waitress if we could extend our time since our actual bowling time was very limited but, could not. You’re also required to pay a reservation fee for bowling and I’m not sure where that fee went because it was not listed on my receipt when I paid.

Food was great. However, two hours to bowl and eat and gather food from the dining hall back to your bowling station is not feasible.

Our waitress was helpful though. This is not a reflection of her service. However, pinstripes expectation of bowling and eating and charging patrons upfront is very unjust.

Update: I emailed management about my experience twice. My emails went unanswered except for them saying “we would love to make it up to you” which is code for “come spend more money with us”. Very disappointing. Original rating 2 stars. Updated rating 1 star.

I visited Pinstripes sometime ago with my wife. Could have been a year ago. My wife and I tonight wanted to go bowling and also have a nice dinner. When we got to location bowling was filled and so were tables. But we were redirected to the bar or some high top tables. The food was excellent! But what made my experience even better was Alejandro! But shout of to him, he timely came back and checkin with us and that made me feel valued as a client! It made me feel like my needs were important. I don’t see that a lot in the service industry any more. The night was special and we will def will be going back. Our food also came out in great time!
The place was very clean and the music was at the right level! Big up PINSTRIPES! Looking forward to taking my entire family back there for a visit.

This review is coming from having experiences here in 2019 vs 2024.

In 2019 I would have rated this place a 4.5 out of 5 for the food and atmosphere. The brunch buffet was delicious and what made it special was all the nice touches they put to the meal. For example, the crispy potatoes were actually crispy and they offered Sir Kensingtons Ketchup with them, today the potatoes were not crispy, still flavorful, no ketchup that I saw. Also, the bagels suck now. They used to offer everything bagels and tasted fresher, now they offer plain and poppy seed and taste like they’ve been frozen. The salmon for the bagels looks questionable and the fruit used to be served in a huge fruit bowl whereas now they make little fruit cups in these plastic cups that is very wasteful. We had an issue with the cappuccino, one tasted fine, the other looked like it was made with the last milk of an old container and popped a fresh milk opened for the other and it was obvious the difference in the coffees.

The omelette station is still great as well as the waffles, what they changed there is they now offer sliced strawberries vs whole and slice your banana and limit you to 3 slices per waffle. Their signature is the whipped Nutella and whipped cream which is what I missed and glad to have had it again. Later though, my partner observed a child stick their finger in it to get a taste. Proceed with your own discretion.

One of the good things observed was that a waitress dropped a beverage and broke glass, the restaurant was very quick to clean it up and limit their liability.

I went there for my birthday. I ordered a starter and a meal. The starter and drinks were served on time. However, they served meatballs to my girlfriend, who had actually ordered vegan pasta. They served her vegan pasta afterward. Also, I didn't get my main meal after being there for 1.5 hours (even though I reminded the person who took our order, and he said he would check). Later, our waitress apologized and said the meal that I didn't get would be served at the bowling alley and would be on the house. My drink was also complimentary. I didn't have to pay my share for the bowling (I'm not sure if it was because of my birthday or if it was part of their apology). Yes, they messed up our order twice, but they made it up to me, which I appreciate.
The bowling was okay, but the machines didn't work perfectly. A few times, it counted the pins toward my score even when I didn't hit them (or maybe it was another birthday gift?)

Do not order delivery through the Pinstripes website. The Pinstripes online ordering system never linked my order with a driver and I’m sitting here with hungry children while we drive to pick up our cold food. How disappointing. Order directly through another app like Uber Eats for better delivery service.

This review is solely for a private event we attended several weeks back. Pinstripes catered the entire event with small bites and sweets downstairs, fresh pasta station upstairs, and hot dishes in the open banquet area.

Food: everything was delicious, especially the chicken and beef on the stick and steak sliders. Pasta station offered all the essential ingredients for pasta making, simple but good enough.

Drinks: open bars, for both upstairs and downstairs, with additional wine & beers stations .

Service: efficient. Given the number of attendees they had that night, with long lines at serving stations, they managed to take people’s orders based on memory and got everyone took care of.

Atmosphere: fun and lively. One of the bowling lane was down even after they attempted to repair it was still no use. Outside of that, mostly was good.

We will definitely be back for more fun and to enjoy the beautiful outdoor areas when weather gets warmer.

Highly recommend by @winedinenvacay
