Waited 20 minutes in line just to get inside and then find out they aren’t making keys. That makes absolutely no sense. Are you not making paint or selling items either? It wasn’t even a self serve kiosk that was closed it was behind the counter. I went to true value and got key copies made there.

Nice people and the store seems well stocked, but their online inventory is SO inaccurate. Except for the most mundane items, if the website says an item is in stock at this store, more than half the time i get to the store and find the item is unavailable. Really frustrating, so most of the time I just don’t bother going there and head straight to HD or Lowe’s. Kinda of a shame, because it’s a nice store and I never end up using my rewards points.

Went there to get some keys cut today and I did not realize they charge $4 per standard house key when every other store on planet Earth charges between $2 and $3 including tax. Either the purchaser for this business does not know how to buy correctly or theyre overcharging. Either way it should be corrected. The whole point of Ace hardware is being a local neighborhood friendly store. You can go to any other Ace hardware and pay just over $2 for the same thing.

Received excellent service obtaining propane yesterday. The operator was polite and knowledgeable. I do have a favor to ask... could you call your North Reading and train them? They sent me away with a tank that was recertified in 2020. Your operator correctly noted a recertd tank is good for 5 years. North Reading are not aware of this and it troubles me that if they dont know that basic regulation, what else are they doing incorrectly when managing a highly flammable substance... An obvious training opportunity for a) potentially safety and b) customer service since it was a bit of a waste of my time having to drive to North Andover (though you did great!) Appreciate it.

New Review: It just keeps getting worse. I only stop in here when I am in a pinch and dont want to travel a longer way to a big box. Literally the last 4 times (not making this up) I have gone, I have been over charged at check out for items. Not the biggest over charge, 0.49 to 7-8 Dollars, but it is a theme. When brought to management, they complain the kids dont care and dont update prices on the shelves...well, anytime you start something with the kids, you are saying more about yourself then your employees, plus, this is your store, you are responsible...just a poorly run spot. The location in Middleton seems to be a bit better run from my limited interactions there, so it is possible to run a hardware store well... Previous Review: Good selection in a pinch, but poor hours and very expensive, most things are 10-30% more expensive then they should be. This would be fine if the service was good, staff was well trained, and hours were good, but they are only ok with all these attributes...

I have reviewed them years ago. And here I am back here again. They seem to carry items that I can not find in other places. If your having a hard time finding some out of sorts item, stop in. The crew working there do seem to have some knowledge of what they are selling.

I love this place. I wind up here somewhat frequently since I moved to the area. Way bigger than a typical hardware store so they re likely to have what you need, but also way smaller than Home Depot where you have to wander countless aisles to find one item. I ve bought everything from space heaters to push brooms to utility knives to measuring tapes to windshield washer fluid here. Friendly staff. Highly recommend.

For personalized hardware store Rocky is the opposite of the big box stores. Still has a great selection and people like Judy in the paint department make it worthwhile to visit if youre looking for true old fashioned help.

Ive been coming to this store for many years. They have about 60% of what I would need to get from a big box store. I had to rate them so low because of how a manager interacted with my daughter. I m not surprised it can be hard to find help when you re there.

Went in for a key copy. Cashier told me to wait momentarily at the help desk. She called for someone to help me multiple times, but i waited for over 20 minutes for no one to even approach me. Dont waste your time here, go anywhere else

Middle of the road as far as local hardware stores go. Typically well stocked and the usual expected seasonal items. Some thing is different though with the staff. The mom and pop feel is gone. Theyre friendly and generally knowledgeable but seems like theyre not empowered to differenciate their service from the big-box stores.

What hardware store sells air guns but carries no nails ?!?!?! It might sound little; but it s a huge waste of time for someone else. Then not to mention there prices are ridiculously high and the corrupt problem is, it s a franchise . The prices should be the same across the board. Not raised raised substantially higher because there in a richer town . $13, $15 dollars for a small box of screws!!! Ridiculous

Came in here looking for a 1/2 inch, 6 point, 13mm socket. Was advised to use the 12 point. Upon using it, it completely stripped my oil pan bolt. Came in the next day to speak to Frank the manager and he new nothing about tools. A manager should be knowledgeable about all aspects of the store , this guy was clueless. After a stripped oil pan bolt and poor advice along with terrible product availability, I will not be back. Fail grade for this store, now I need to buy a new oil pan bolt. Wont ever be back. Thanks Ace !

Im done with ACE. No returns even with a receipt. Doesnt matter. They dont have the plumbing parts I need again anyway. I should have followed my instincts and gone right to Home Depot or Loews. ACE is consistent, they have some of what you need, but dont restock so you end up at Home Depot anyway to get the rest. Wasting my time here.

I went and looking for a bathroom sink stopper assembly and they have exactly what I needed without me having to buy all of the parts. I only needed a couple and they had a kid that only had the parts I needed. Bonus, its only 5 minutes from my house.

Customer service needs some work. I was at the cashier with two bolts and I needed to go back to where I obtained the bolts to provide her the amount per bolt. She could not figure it out. They need to have this info readily available at the cashier. I will skip Rockys and go to Home Depot or Lowes for my future hardware needs.
