Not from the area and was looking for a nice ice cream spot to get a banana split with my daughter. Came across Cows Rock, and was very pleased all around. The woman serving was polite, the banana split was so yummy and a cozy little store. Wish I lived closer, but I will definitely visit again if Im close by. Parking: 15 min street parking out front (limited space). Saw a free parking lot once you pass the shop.

it is a fun place to go for the youth center but they barely have any people working but the owner is pretty nice. they have very slow service and it takes a long time for them to scoop. and I feel like the prices are very high but the owner is pretty nice so its a good place for if you are looking for a snack I would recommend. Kid-friendliness: they are really nice to kids really helpful on choosing ice cream and it would recommend for your kid.

Would not recommend. A great location but terrible service. Didnt have soft serve (no big deal as a first time customer) so left the line to ask my partner waiting outside with our dog to see what else he would like. Hoped back to the end of line (2 ppl ahead) and waited 20 mins to get to the counter and was completely ignored for a good 10 until I decided to just leave and head to Mad Maggies across town. The wait was understandable because there was two ppl working on multiple orders, but it doesnt take much to offer a Hey, well be right with you or any acknowledgement especially if theyve been waiting a long period of time.

If 0 stars was an option that s what this place would be. We got there and there was about 6 people in front of us which we didn t mind waiting for. There was only 2 employees who were very much full of attitude. We were in line for 25 minutes which led to them taking 8 minutes to make 2 cups of icecream. I understand being understaffed but at that point. they should not be in business.

Went here for the first time with my husband and 2 kids Saturday after going to the park. Ice cream was good. But the guy was incredibly rude to my husband. Speaking to him as if he was a child. I doubt we will ever be back. My oldest son goes here when he goes to the youth center and even mentioned that this man is rude. Sad because it s a nice location.

An ice cream shop haunted by ghosts ?!?!? Went here, a random google search for ice cream late one October night. In a tiny, quiet, old area of North Andover. The Ice cream was REALLY good, and they make their very own hot fudge sauce using pure chocolate (and also dip their cones in it i think)!!, dont go here without trying it! Also, something was verrrrrry spooky about the place as nice as it was, a VIBE I got, lol. Then.... I found out that it is the same house/location of a witch who was hung long ago. Mary Parker was her name (Google search it!) VERY creepy :P Of course you cant tell, because its a cute, cozy ice cream spot and the owner and workers are very friendly. So, overall, a great place to take your family, Or go solo. Or, ghost hunters as well ??!!! :) You would have to go there, if you dare, and see for yourself if you detect any strange spooky vibes, orrrrrr if its just a normal, ghost free spot, and enjoy ice cream while doing so. Good Luck! :)

This is upselling richardsons ice cream from middleton. Convenient if your going after school. But if you have a car dont bother. Also the manager is a mean person and takes advantage of his staffs innocence by yelling at them. Been here twice out of convenience and the younger staff is always friendly but downtrodden while the old ladies and old guy are always stand offish and aggressive to me and his employees. Its a ice cream parlor man how hard is it to be professional? Would love to see how they train their employees.

My experience at Cows Rock was fantastic! First, I was warmly greeted by the scooper. I asked the polite scooper what he suggests. He told me to try Maine Black Bear and it was the best ice cream flavor I every had and it was the best scoop too. He Also as soon as I walked in I noticed how clean and good it smelled inside. I saw some blonde kid who was cleaning the shop nonstop. All of the employees seem to be nonstop hard workers and very nice people. Furthermore, they have the best hot fudge!! I suggest this ice cream store because of the wide range of ice cream flavors and kind staff!

The Good- 3 stars because they serve Richardsons amazing ice cream at a fair price, and give you quite a lot of it. Young girl behind the counter was polite and friendly, and greeted us with a pleasant smile. The atmosphere is bright and kid-friendly, but leaves something to be desired (see The Not So Good section) There was a good selection of flavors, and lots of options for desserts. The Not So Good- 2 stars were deducted for the following reasons: The older woman serving the ice cream was not wearing gloves and had loose, slightly above shoulder length hair. When scooping ice cream her hands would touch the ice cream and her hair would hang over it. She could easily lose a hair into it. Unsanitary practices. When asked if they served chai lattes, tea, or drinks of that nature, neither employee knew. How do you not know what you serve?? Lastly, the shop itself seemed not very well taken care of which left it with kind of a decrepit atmosphere. Some flavors were blocked off, but the things blocking them were hanging off and not actually blocking the flavor. The blackboard had food items listed, with prices. However, about half of the food items just had a $ sign with no number after it. Does that mean its out of stock or the price had changed or what? The menu was scattered all over the shop, and if you didnt know specifically where to look it was hard to figure out what they sell. Not to mention every section of the menu was written differently, leaving no sense of cohesion and making it extra hard to locate. Overall not a bad experience, but certainly not the best. Will probably make the slightly longer drive to Smolak Farms down the road which has fantastic ice cream as well, or to Richardsons.

On July 1 I thought I would try Cows Rock with some out of town guests. Usually go to Mad Maggies. Big mistake. I thought the shop was a little dirty and had a bit of a smell. The worse part was Nurse Hatchet behind the counter. She greeted us with a scowl and when I asked for flavors she pointed to sign below as if I were stupid. My guest ordered a double scoop then after she placed on dish she asked for a cherry and some sause. Nurse Hatchet responded...well Ill have to put it in another dish now. Ice cream was good but her behavior negates that. Hope it wasnt the owner. Had I not been with guests I would have walked out but I was embarrassed enough.

Ok great mountain but a few problems, 1-was an hour wait to park. Not bc not enough room but bc rangers not smart enough to speed up the reg process, in future just have people pay then park then come back for questions. 2--$5 per person. First time i paid to hike. Why ? 3-- no dogs... but good idea since too rocky at the top so remove numb 3, 4-- this is a very difficult hike and not for the casual hiker wearing sneaks, no water and carrying a baby... rangers should explain that.

Ive gone here several times and enjoyed the ice cream after taking my daughters to Drummond park. There are signs saying that they dont have a public restroom but give customers the key. Ive asked before and have seen other customers ask as well. Tonight, as I was leaving with my 3 year old and 1 year old I asked the woman and she said they dont have public restrooms. I told her I have used it before and just watched someone else use it. She said no, they were using the back exit. So I started to walk away and she said, If its for your daughter, you can use it. This was in front of a bunch of customers. I said no thank you and walked out angry. Does it matter WHO needs to use the bathroom, Lady! Seriously. What if I said I was pregnant? Who are you to decide who gets to use the restroom! I will never go there again. There are plenty of ice cream parlors in the area. She could have handled it better instead of embarrassing me in front of other customers. Its one thing if it was a teenager but she was far from.

As much as I would love to give this place a great review as many ppl have, I just can t. First off the lady serving the ice cream was RUDE! No matter what I ordered she had a stank attitude, seriously not the type of business to be in even if ur having a bad day. Worst was my children had to witness her nonsense. Then having ordered a lemon sherbet, after leaving I realize it is all mixed with chocolate or idk what, I don t understand how that is even remotely fair. I m so annoyed with the whole situation especially bc being new to North Andover, I just wanted to give new places a try, never again! Wish I could attach the atrocity that was my ice cream. .
