The place reminds me of an old school small town market, is not well organized and the lighting is not the best. But, they do have some great items! Muhammad was nice, but not very talkative. English is not his first language and sometimes that could be the reason. He was helpful and he showed me how much frozen products he has for such small place. He has lots of frozen lamb and lots of frozen seafood! It was a great experience and I found an item I couldn’t find at other “supermarkets”. Keep in mind this is a small market, so don’t expect a supermarket setting, lighting, or displays. But, you may find that one item that you can’t find at other stores.

This was very disappointing and I have no words on how the owners can sleep at night knowing what they did was unjust and wrong. When I confronted one of the owners, she claimed that these expiration dates are legit and these were faults of their suppliers. I knew that she was just pulling my leg at this point and she claimed it was her husband that does their inventory so she will have to ask the husband. I understand we’re facing hard times with inflation and basically trying to survive without going out of business. But this, no this will put you out of business because any wrongdoing comes with consequences and I only pray that they will stop doing this. If they tampered with these dates on these cookies I wonder what they do with their other products. It’s a small shop and it’s ridiculous how the couple each have their own prices (no price labels) each time I come buy snacks. Do the right thing and stop ripping off people on their hard earned money. If you want to try them out please be very aware of the expiry dates and the condition of each products. This place is overpriced, sells expired products and overall just be careful if you do shop here. We are living in the world where even a child knows ways of businesses and the scams they do, so it’ll be a very poor decision to do what you do Maligaya owners. I pray you will do the right thing but if not well only time will tell.

RUN and please look for a different Asian and or oriental market place. It was very disorganized, a lot of their products were expired, and overpriced. Despite all these red flags, I was still willing to look around and see if there was anything that would catch my eye.
The owner was EXTREMELY rude. Upon finding out me and my boyfriend’s nationality, he continued on to tell my boyfriend that he knew that his people are good and that he couldn’t say the same about “my people”. He proceeded to then tell my bf “to be careful”. I will NEVER be returning.
Every penny you waste on gas to get to the other Asian Markets in town is nothing compared to the up charge and horrible customer service you will experience here.

UPDATE‼️‼️‼️ Dont get me wrong, they have a variety of stuff, but spend your $$$ on a business that cares about their customers. SHOP AT Sea food city on decatur, Little Divisoria on Centennial/Simmon, Six Pack on Russel Road (just to name a few), Le Umu or another mom&pop International store. THIS OWNER WILL NEVER STOP CHEATING THE CUSTOMERS! When I first visited this place few years back (and believe me, I'm a regular) I always dealt with the lady owner (wife) and she has great customer service and always willing to help. It’s been a year maybe more, the male owner is still rude, disrespectful and a crook!! The store doesn't have set prices. He changes the prices to each items everyday. My point is, do not waste your time&money here, they will rip you off esp when the male cashier is working.
If I cud rate half a star I would, but the lady is nice and good customer service. MAKE SURE CHECK EXPIRATION DATES!!!!! they are changing expiration dates on their products. Maligaya will triple charge you when they know your desperate😡
(2yrs ago)Friendly owner and has everything that you need. If your polynesian, they have good taro and taro leafs for palusami or luau. And if you find something thats expired or stale like some have stated, tell the owner (the lady) she will be more then welcome to help you out.

Do not go to this place I repeat do not go. Go anywhere but here. I once bought few products here and got the receipt. Came back a few weeks later to buy the same exact products and she raised the price by almost $20 more I kid you not. This is one of those places that should be investigated and honestly not running.

I stopped in for some spice but left without buying anything. The store was dirty and rather dingy. I saw dusty items on the shelf with no best by or expiration date (so how old are they?) That probably should have had one (Horlicks), and I just didn't feel confident in the wares. The proprietor was quite pleasant, though, and knew what she had and where it was. She's why I give it 2 stars instead of one.

My sister went there looking for large bags of rice and the owner showed her four bags of either 20 or 50 lb bags of rice... Than he asked her where she was from, which she assumed was small talk, but after she told him that she was from Guam he told her that he is not going to sell her the rice and it is for other customers. He was rude, the store was dark and dirty she said. He discriminated against her and is lucky that I am in California. I wouldn't have been as gracious as my Sister.

Hard to find as their sign is small and not lighted.
Hours are strange because I've tried to buy Asian foods there and both times they were closed well before the 8pm listed closing time. I called ahead to see if they closed at 8pm and they said yes yet they were already closed by 7:48pm.

The man working was extremely rude and discriminatory. He first followed me around the store, aggressively asking what I was looking for, obviously trying to get me out asap. After I paid, he asked to speak to my boyfriend privately. My boyfriend obliged. He then made a negative comment about my weight. My boyfriend walked out and told me about what he said. Other reviews have talked about a friendly female owner, but the rude man was the only person in the shop when we were there. 100% would not recommend shopping somewhere that treats paying customers in such a way.
