Self checkout is pathetic ! 3 people standing and when you press for attendant help you almost have to set your station on fire to get any help. Then when they do finally come they act like they have done you a big favor… Hello 👋🏻 I just did the checkout job, all you have to do is pay attention and help us finish our transaction. Then with the attitude, omg!! “Sir sir sir don’t yell at me! God grief all I did was say I’d like you to do your job. Read the screen and then act with the proper response, don’t tell me you didn’t see it rather say I wasn’t paying attention.

Although busy, Smiths had enough staff to keep the store clean, they had workers picking up things and that matters... if I walk into a store, jumbled, messy and packed....it's the messy that turns me around...I really like the cheese bar... the workers are friendlier more days than not... the parking lot is rough... but people are willing to accept an apology if a mistake is made...people are gentler, kinder with each other... at least in my trips... I'm thankful...

Been going to this store for about five years now and unfortunately, I think I’ll drive further for a better experience. They allow people to sell incense and other odd products, or just ask for money. Went today and there weren’t any carts available, had to go out to a cart return and get one. Lots or empty product displays (gave them the benefit of the doubt during Covid, now it’s just silly). Meat section always smells funky and all the packaged meat is seemingly wet. Sometimes blank best by dates. Bought hamburger several times that went very bad way before it’s best by date.

Also, I don’t know who is propping up the stinky cheese market at this store that makes it viable to keep that awful smelling cheese section, but it makes for an unpleasant shopping experience.

To kick it off, you often get pushed into using self checkout because they’ll have three people running self, but little to no employees on registers.

If I wanted cheap, I’d go to Winco. Guess I’m going to have to go to Sprouts or find a nicer store further away.

The quality and levels of customer service has declined. I went to shop late night and went to self checkout and for some reason a Mexican lady with draw on eyebrows (maybe she was the manager) suggested we let her check us out after she called the guy working in the area to her and started talking to him telling him whatever then he suggested we let her check us out, but she didn’t tell the man next to us to do the same. I felt that she may have thought we were going to steal which was not the case but either way I was offended . After that I would rather drive to Sprouts or order delivery from another store. I’m also tired of solicitors outside the store with their money schemes .

Been shopping at this Smith's for close to 20 yrs. Lately my issue is every time I'm here I'm approached by either a lady trying to sell me incense (who I've told no at least 1,000 times) or some random dudes trying to get me to take a survey or buy candy for their basketball team. Both when entering AND exciting. I can't even send my wife to get groceries they make her so uncomfortable. We just want to get our groceries in peace. I avoid this store as much as possible.

Second the pickup groceries is very slow. Checked in at 5:50 didn't have my groceries in fact order got cancelled because apparently they were never pulled even though i was notified. I could have gone in faster. I pre order to make it quicker. Also not enough spaces. Cars line up and fight to get one of the 7 spots. Seventh spot is hidden by the dumpster. Only one person working the pickup.

Please let customers know when it is a good time to go so they don't have to navigate around the stockers. Went in to this location at 9am this morning and they were stocking the shelves. Mind you, this location closes at 11pm, I believe, and opens at 6 or 7am. Anyway, I'm heading down the cereal isle where there are about 4 stockers. Three of them were courteous and maintained the items in the area they were working. But of course, there was one. She had her cart and an egg/milk crate (to stand on, I assume) across the isle, blocking it entirely. I said, "Excuse me" so that I could get by. Either she didn't hear me or ignored me because she was too busy talking to her friend, on speaker phone, about how she assaulted a guy and cut him in the face. I had to move her cart to get by while she was still yapping on the phone to her friend. I'm not quite sure how today's job market is, but I'm sure it's not a good idea to talk to your friends on the phone about possible crimes you've committed while on the job.

I went in on Saturday to pick up a few things. And I decided to grab a bite to eat. The deli has so many options! I decided on the 2 piece chicken meal! The breast, wing , potato wedges and mac & cheese. You can't beat that for $7.00! And the chicken was seasoned to perfection! The potato wedges were crispy on the outside and soft in the center! Staff are generally friendly and helpful. On a few occasions we've had a large purchase late in the evening when only self checkout is available and the manager would actually open a lane and ring up our order so we didn't have to do it ourselves. Used to consider this Smith's 5 stars, but recent store renovations have actually made the store worse. One-way gates installed at the entrance and exit. All the coupons are now digital and cell service is so bad here (Verizon at least) you can't even scan the QR code on the shelf to add the coupon to your rewards card. Wifi doesn't work either. The self checkout now requires an attendant to come and verify the number of items on your register against the number of items in your cart before you can pay, even for a 2 item purchase. I fear as the population around the store increases the shopping experience here is going to continue to deteriorate.

The Click List at this store is abysmal. I can't tell you how much food we end up wasting because whoever is grabbing the order doesn't know what quality is. That is assuming they grab it at all. Corn tortillas all broken in half. Rotten salad. Never any chicken.

Sometimes we don't have the time to go in and shop ourselves but the click list is disgusting. I feel bad for anyone who HAS to use it because they can't otherwise get groceries.

EDIT: Quality here is still absolutely EMBARRASSING. As a former bagger I am astounded that this is what comes out. Fresh produce in with raw leaky meat.

My daughter is 5 and really had to use the potty but the manager didn’t give us the code to the restroom and said it’d be awhile before someone could help us. Why not just let us know the code? My daughter was doing the potty dance and really needed to go. Also they never have my infant’s formula that she needs. I understand shortages but this is the fifth week in a row of grocery shopping that they don’t have it.I hate having to come to this store, this location sucks, we come because it’s so close to the house. One time I came in three weeks ago and I only got items allowable per WIC and I shouldn’t have had to pay anything, after ringing me up she told me I had a balance and she couldn’t figure out why, when the screen turned towards the customers said $0 she kept telling me I owed money yet my receipt said every item I got per WIC was approved. She couldn’t even understand me asking her what was wrong and why I had a balance, she didn’t give me an answer she just stayed quiet. Her name is Wendy and she should be fired, she’s ALWAYS rude to me and my family. They never have enough registers open either. Never shopping at this store again I am so done. They also take 30 minutes to come to the baby food aisle to help you get formula.

Review №102

Tinsha is a rude cashier. Steer clear when she has her friends being rung up. They will intentionally take their time and try to override the system multiple times to get discounts from what it seemed to me. As a cashier, you should be able to see what was charged and what amount is left over. She couldn't even tell what amount needed to be tendered from the EBT, forcing the system to discount and override four times. And also in the mean time discuss their favorite way and decide last minute to get swishers. Maybe she shouldn't be smoking because she complained about the $5 that EBT didn't accept. Tinsha had to leave the cashier four times, maybe she doesn't know how to really do her job and should be somewhere that doesn't require so much brain power.
She refused to ring us up so we had a manager step in and take action quick. She rang our cart up so quick by the time i got to the register it was done. When we started to walk out, we saw that the customer before us and the cashier Tinsha standing around her car parked in the handicap (which is very suiting seeing she cant even pay for her cart correctly). Obviously they're friends if she went straight to her car to talk to her. They started to call me racial slurs that were not appropriate, because im not hispanic. They cant even be racist correctly, how sad. Then they yell out, your lucky i don't shoot you. Wow, so this is how your employees react when they have their ignorant friends around. Winco is way better, go there.

My wife today was wronged and racially discriminated. While I was on FaceTime with her, she put money into the machine at self checkout. It got stuck and when she called for assistance they refused to help her and when she asked to speak to a manager he unlocked the machine and the 20 was stuck and they ganged up on her saying it wasn’t hers and after they finally looked at video showing my wife frustrated at their broken machine they didn’t apologize and told her to go to a normal checkout line and then they marked the 20 counterfeit and tried to call the police on her before she finally gave in and left because of the stress it was causing her. So this is what smiths does discriminate and try to double dip into peoples pockets....guess who’s got voice recordings going to corporate

I ordered a cake from this store for my son's birthday. When I went to pick it up, the lady rude and ignoring me. She would at me and make eye contact and then turn away and act like she didn't see me. Do I walked away to grab some things I needed and came back. I finally found someone and to go back to get the person so I could get my car after waiting again. When I first looked at it, it looked ok. But when I opened it, it was messed up. Not only that but there was hair in the cake 🤮... Just a horrible experience all together. My son wanted a dinosaur cake for his birthday. And when we went back, of course they didn't have anymore to make the cake we ordered. And we had to wait for almost an hour for them to make another cake that want even the one we originally wanted. Thanks Smith's for messing up my son's birthday. Unexcusable. Last time I ever order a cake from here

I placed an order online for eight items on July 27th, delivery was made today, July 28th. I was texted at around 7:45 that my grocery order was being shopped. A few minutes into the shopping, I was texted that the original shopper could not complete the order, and another shopper was selected. The delivery person arrived promptly, but two items were absent from the order - two packs of sliced Swiss cheese. When I called Smiths on Aliante to let them know, they told me I’ll have to contact the contracted service that handles orders. I did. They put me on the phone with Smiths and the customer service person told me, if I want my cheese I would have to come to the store to pick it up. If I was charged for the cheese, they wouldn’t be able to credit my account for 24 hours. I was also told if I wanted the cheese today, I will have to pay another delivery fee! This is unacceptable, and very poor customer service. The whole reason for shopping online is to avoid the possibility of infection of the Covid virus. Our family consists of four seniors, two of which have serious health issues. Why should we be penalized for Smith’s mistake? The Smiths on Aliante WAS my favorite grocery store, mostly because there’re very close to home, but the staff have always been friendly and helpful. My message to Smiths is this: if you’re going to offer this service to your seniors, or anyone for that matter, please, do it right! I guess I’ll have to find another grocery store who will deliver my order and good customer service....very disappointed!

I have done a Clicklist pickup order twice now. With COVID19 I understand products have been unavailable, but that isn't the reason for this review.

1st order: Poorly packaged. The person who loaded the groceries into my trunk just threw everything back there. When I went back to adjust it I noticed the ice cream was partially open and leaking in the paper bag. I had my kids with me, and the whole reason for a pick up order was I cannot bring my asthmatic 9 year old or baby into the store. I figured they were probably busy and didn't complain.

2nd order: Order was once again haphazardly thrown into the trunk of my vehicle. The onion and bell pepper were rotten. Not just a little, they should not have been on the shelf in this condition. The bell pepper was soft and caved in, the onion was soft and smelled bad. I went on the app to try to request a refund only to be met with "technical errors". I figured if this is how things have been a lot of people are probably requesting a refund. I waited until this morning to try again.

So far I have spoken to the Clicklist crew (Cody), who took no blame and directed me to an 800 number. 800 number is an endless automated system that results in dead air or a disconnected call. Called the store back and spoke with Wendy, who promptly put me on hold for nearly 5 minutes. Next person to answer did not give me her name, and as soon as I explained what was happening she transferred me back to Cody in Clicklist before I could tell her I already spoke with them.

Cody told me I can bring my receipt to the customer service desk and request a refund... defeating the purpose of a pickup order in order to avoid going into the store.

I try not to go Full Karen. I have worked in grocery, I get things slip through the cracks and get busy. But this is bull. If you want to avoid this I recommend a different location.

This smiths is HUGE! I like it a lot! Only downfall to this smiths is that if you do self checkout their scales are so sensitive and constantly need attention every item you scan, times thay by 8 other guest and it takes forever! They usually have 1-2 real people to check out! The Starbucks line is always long here too and only ever one person working it! However all their cheeses are delicious!!

Hard to find stuff there. Saw an employee chatting with a customer. I waited patiently and then ended up having to interrupt to ask where the super glue was. He tells me aisle 19 and the end.

I walked up and down 19, no super glue. I searched aisle 18 as well. Almost gave up and then found it midway down aisle 20.

I get it, he was an aisle off. If he had taken the time to escort me to the super glue, it would have worked out much faster. Hopefully he got the phone number he was pursuing from the customer he was chatting with. Perhaps if I were a good looking woman, he may have had more time to assist me in finding my super glue. Maybe this is why men struggle to ask for directions.

Store frequently sells expired meat products. When I confronted the manager he acted like a total sleezeball pretending like it’s a one off occurrence. Having multiple of the same expired item sitting on shelves on multiple occasions isn’t just a mistake. It’s dangerously negligent.

Wanted to buy some Ribeyes on sale and the female butcher was rude and dismissive. The sale was for USDA Choice ribeyes, but what she gave me was not USDA Choice... and the meat looked pale and dark and old. I asked an associate of the meat department about the color and he stated "that's normal." It's NOT normal. They gave me old stock and tried to pass it off as "new." This reflects poorly on Smith's. I'd rather go to the Smith's on Camino Al Norte. They have friendly, professional Meat Department staff there. BUYER BEWARE

Used to be my favorite spot to shop. Service has definitely gone downhill. I've been shopping there since 2004 (15 years). Today was just the last straw. Forgot my wallet so I bought $9.56 worth of grocery and used my $10 check (that I get from my Smith's credit card points) They took the $0.44 change and kept it because they can't give me cash back (although I've received cash back in the past a few times). Seems pretty petty to me. Think I'll just start using my Costco card and Walmart. No need for my Smith's credit card anymore either. It's walking distance from my house so I may end up using them once in a blue moon for quick emergencies but no longer as my main place for grocery.

I got to this store at 6:23.

It's now 6:48.

Waited in line for over 15 minutes to tell the woman I was exchanging the vegetable tray because the line is also for bill pay.

Had to wait in line another 10 minutes to make the exchange and pay the difference after having to get back in the line which is also for bill pay.

Why even have two registers if only one is being used ?

They need to create a much more streamlined approach to this.

Nobody should have to wait in line with those paying bills when all we need to do is exchange or get a refund

Lack of Service. I had to do a grocery run at 10:30pm so only self check out was open and every register was full with 1 customer service cashier. I had to wait for 10 minutes for help due to my register needing assistance. Not the cashier's fault but Smiths should have more than 1 person on the weekend.
