I was a early to pick up a friend in the area and as I drove by this corner unassuming yet gorgeous and clean little bakery, I decided to stop to get a latte and see what they offered for breakfast. Owner created me graciously and I ordered a ham egg and cheese sandwich on a Portuguese roll that was delicious. As I’m eating I noticed several people coming in to but their home made Pastel di Natal ( showed in my pictures) and I had to try it! It was so fresh and amazing that I ordered 10 to go! OMG you guys have to stop by and try them 😍. I will definitely come back to try other things, everything looks fresh and delicious. It’s a 10 out of 10 for me so yesss; I recommend this place!

Oh my !!!! This Portuguese cafe is to die for, first time stepping in I ordered a toasted, buttered sweet bread & croissant 🥐 my boyfriend ordered the chorizo bread & a ham, egg & cheese sandwich. They have such a large selection of pastries that all looked amazing! The staff is extremely friendly. Cute place to sit and relax. Right on ridge road with ample amount of parking. I will definitely be visiting again soon! Thank you 😊

First time today and it was amazing!!! I had the croissant with butter with a coffee!
I’ve had the mini pao de lo and the Nutella pastel de nata and they melt in your mouth!!! Definitely 5 stars!

Absolutely love Cafe Mauro! Perfect place for break,brunch or lunch! Quick double expresso and a ham,egg&cheese is my go to. Never can leave here without taking the Chorizo bread or a sweet Nutella pastels de nata to go!!! The best around. Cafe Mauro is truly a hidden gem of North Arlington. No matter the time of day you will be greeted with delightful service and friendly customers all in support of the same place! Highly recommended!

Picked up a slice of Flan Cake. Who ever thought of this was a genius! Delicious Flan on top of a buttery pound cake. Also had a sweet bread with coconut which was also wonderful! Definitely returning to this exceptional place.

- Customer service was dead ! - We walked in and sat down for about 10 minutes and did not get acknowledged, just stared at . Decided to get up and walk to the counter and 2 employees behind the counter just gave me an empty stare . After standing there for about 2 minutes I thought that I would be nice and sit back down and not make a big deal about it. 5 minutes later we just got up and left. Very disappointing experience!

Today I bought a portion of walnut cake and it came out damaged, it was in bad condition, so I returned to the place and showed the cake in bad condition to the lady who was serving and asked for my money back, to which she He responded that he couldnt give me the money back but he could give me another slice of cake, and they showed me one that was fresh! Something that seemed dishonest to me, I went back and told him that the cake they had sold me was in bad condition so I just wanted my money back; This lady in a bad mood and making a bad face gave me my money back! Apart from the fact that they were selling a product in poor condition, they did not want to refund my money and wanted me to take something else, terrible service.

I love the way these Natas (hope I spelled it right) have a taste of cinnamon. Portuguese roll was so soft even though it was afternoon; ham and cheese were fresh tasting. Cozy lil spot with window view was enjoyable for people/ scene watchers like me who find it hard to find nice places like this in Southern CA. Will definitely be back next time Im in NJ!
