Went to visit NY for the first time and stayed in NJ. Found this place which reminded me of PR bakery. We ended up having brunch the 5 days we were there.❤️ Love the bread and the pastelitos.

This is such a great cafe. From their first and only location to now 5! Their breakfast sandwiches are delicious, better than our beloved NJ bagels. Fresh ingredients. I particularly love their mango smoothie and lemonade. Staff has always been friendly, and the location itself is very inviting.

Came here for the vegan Cuban sandwich. They don’t know how to cook with jackfruit. Taste was good but the texture was awful. Jackfruit was chunky even had the jackfruit seeds in the mix I ended up removing the Jack fruit from the sandwich. Then I got a guava pastelito what a let down dry and hardly any guava inside. Would I come back no way.

Pleasant surprise. I was in the area. And after visiting plenty of places all week, i found Cortaditos.
It was 3 of us and we got mango smoothies, pollo loco sandwiches, Cuban and a guava cheese empanada.
The way they transformed this corner space is amazing. The murals and decor is great.
Side note: i didn’t know they were a chain until i walked through American dream mall.
The food and taste was great. They really deliver on consistency since I’ve been back twice since my first visit.
The empanada was delicious and smoothies were great consistency.
The pollo loco sandwiches were really yummy, we needed to add more sauce, but other than that, they were good.
The Cuban, which is such a go to for me, was good. Had good taste and layers. It could use more pickles, on both occasions that i ordered it, there was only one small slice. So be sure to ask for more to get that more authentic taste.
All in all, really solid place. I went out of my way last week to go there.

Been a customer for years because it reminds me of home. Unfortunately, the quality and service has gone down since the rebrand and expansion. Very cute atmosphere but they're very overwhelmed now that they're so popular. I suggest asking to see your order on the screen before paying because they often get stuff wrong lately.

Do not order for delivery, cortaditos does not protect your drinks, I order sandwiches and coffe through Uber and the coffe they did not put a seal over the cap jus like in any other place…in the Colombian and other Hispanic restaurants they even put it in a plastic transparent bag.
The worst part is that I check the cap and I clearly see the mark where it was drank.la boquilla se miraba mantecosa era obvio que el chofer tomó.
The place is great but they don’t wrap or protect your drinks.

Ordered a Cuban sandwich on UberEats from this place. It was definitely not a Cuban sandwich. The meat in the sandwich was quite hard and crumbly. Very old pork. It tasted old, so I’m nervous now that I’ll get sick from tasting this sandwich. Would not recommend this place

En calor en sus instalaciones es tremendoo!!! la comida en lineas generales estaba bien pero enserio las chicas no tienen la mejor disposición para atender y fuera de eso deberían educarlas un minimo en las normas de bioseguridad e higiene para que UTILICEN GUANTES y no manipulen los alimentos directamente con las manos (recien tocando dinero) hablo de las hojas de hierbabuena al hacer los mojitos , la verdad que fue muuy desagradable !!!

The heat in your facilities is terrible!!! The food in general terms was good but seriously the girls do not have the best disposition to serve and they must also be educated a minimum in biosafety and hygiene standards so that they USE GLOVES and do not handle food directly with their hands (just touching money) I speak of the mint leaves when making the mojitos, the truth is that it was very unpleasant!!!

So I loved the bon bon cortado but it was cold!!! You need to heat up both milks! The matecaditos were verygood but the palitroques were old/soft! Sorry guys. I wanna give you a 5 but you gotta heat up the milks. How about small microwave for your expresso guy( who, Btw, was very nice)

As kids, we would go to Bergenline to eat cuban food. Every street had a few cuban restaurants. Today, you can only see about 3. This place took me back to my childhood. The food was amazing, the service was great and the atmosphere was great as well. I would definitely recommend this place.

Legit empanada’s and guava pastries. They are across the street from Las Chicas so there is plenty of good pastries. The almond croissant was also delicious. Love these little bakeries sprinkled around North Bergen. Can’t go wrong!

This review is for the new refurbished North Bergen location. I was so happy to be able to at least be able to order a Pan con Bistec without having to explain exactly how it should be made! Since adopting the format of the rest of the restaurants it is an improvement in service, food and atmosphere. The Pan con Bistec was excellent and is the quality of food I have come to expect from the line of Cafés.

I've lived in the tri state area now 14 years, being a Miami native I know what Cuban food should taste like, found this spot looking for a colada, and nor only was the colada superb they had vegan options! This place is a little gem. They have their own creative coffee beverages inspired in the Cuban tradition. It was recently revamped and it looks really striking. The service is also really great. Their servers are genuinely friendly and accommodating. Jenny, Duvier and Ivonne come to mind. There is no better way to start your day than getting a cortadito mulato and a pastry while being greeted by these beautiful people.

Reply- the one in NB. I work in the area at a local bank. My coworkers and I jokingly guess who's coffee they will mess up, because we love the coffee but we never get what we want just in the past 2 weeks we ordered a coffe of "a la roca" and got hot coffe. Another time we were missing a croqueta...and so on. It's always not just 1 or 2 xs it's EVRY SINGLE TIME. RIDICULOUS.

Que pena pero si cambió y bastante! Si bien es cierto que lo arreglaron ahora el pan y el Cortadito, nada que ver al de antes, mi sandwich de pollo demasiado seco y las empanadas de ropa vieja era pura sal, ya no tienen tocinillos del cielo y ni palitroques, no hay lechón solo y no manejan guanábana ya ni mamey.. Coffee is good. Service is good. Pastries were old. Puff pastry from the pastelito de carne was rubbery and the chocolate cake was dry and hard. Guessing they over baked and the items have been sitting there for 3-4 days. With all the coffee shops on Bergenline Ave, they should be much better. I recommend Las Chicas across the street for fresh tasting pastries. Cortaditos falls flat, I’d never go again.

UPDATE: FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 8, 2023, 9:30PM: According to Google Maps, the last time I visited this cafe was three years ago. That makes sense, as I had a job, at that time, that took me to that area. I think this place is no longer "Sweets & Cortaditos," but just "Cortaditos." The decor looks more beautiful, and the offerings have expanded, for sure. One of the employees gave excellent service, but the other one gave me so-so service. In any event, I shall not allow one negative experience dissuade me from returning, and I promise I shall not wait three years to come back

I've come here numerous times at different times of the day for cuban bread and they never know if they have any left and more times than not they say they don't have any. But if I want a sandwich they can make it for me. So they have the bread, just refuse to sell it unless you order a sandwich. Next time I run into the owner at an event I'll be sure to let him know personally about my experience.

What a nice place, excellent food and drinks. Service high quality. Outdoor area good but if your table is located by the highway unfortunately you can hear a lot of sounds from ambulances and motorcycle. If your table is not ready feel free to have a drink at the bar area. Very interesting decoration. Please try the Scallops they are delicious…

Usually get simple iced cafe con leche and the breakfast sandwich is actually so good and filling. I get Chicken empanadas, croquetas, and boxes with assorted treats for gatherings. The unique flavored drinks are ok. I gravitate more so here than some of the other cafe/bakeries on the block. Spanish and English spoken.
