I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the poor customer service I recently experienced at your North Bergen store. Unfortunately, this incident is part of an ongoing issue, but this particular experience has prompted me to formally address the matter.
On 10/13/24 , I asked an employee named Sarah for assistance in locating a plumbing item. Her response was dismissive, as she said, "I'm not a plumber, ask a plumber," followed by, "For $15, I don't think we're supposed to know about plumbing." I was taken aback by her unprofessional attitude and unwillingness to help. When I asked to speak with a manager, she said she would call one, but no one came.
After waiting for about 20 minutes, I went to look for the manager myself, only to see him helping someone else as he should but he didn’t acknowledge my presence, " we be right with you" could had helped. After waiting again with no assistance, I decided to leave the store.
I want to highlight that this is not the first time I've encountered poor service at this location. It has become a frequent issue, and I often see staff members chatting with each other instead of helping customers. It is increasingly difficult to find an employee willing to assist.
I shop at Home Depot because of the wide range of products, but this lack of customer service is extremely frustrating. I urge you to address these issues and improve the service quality at this store.

I went to Home Depot for a microwave. Jacob in home appliances was fantastic. Provided friendly exceptional service! I went to Home Depot because Lowes was horrible. An employee makes a difference. I left Home Depot with the service and appliance I needed. Thank you! You employee should be commended for the attention provided to customers.

A heaven for home fixers! Very well organized and great hours. The staffs are super helpful and nice. I have no clue with home fixing- but if you go ask for an advice, they got you. Very knowledgeable and professional! And the price is great. The price range goes from affordable to professional level.

Rented a 7x14 Dump trailer and it was nothing but a mess.
The battery was never charged and when I went to offload, the left obviously did not work. I had offload by hand.
The car port connector was bad , it looked like it had been previously dragged, the lights stopped working.
Manager, if you are reading this, your department sucks!

Good hardware store for tools, appliances, bathroom decorating ideas, kitchen remodeling, patio furniture, power appliances, bbq grills and many more. Often here for many stuff and even for keys copying. Giving only 4 stars because some products are not good quality or not even working: I bought outlet adapter for European electrics for my brother who came from Europe but it was only one type of it and stopped working after month of using it. Also searched for ethernet cable splitter 1 female 2 male but it’s not working at all. Otherwise good store and all other purchases was valuable.

Literally just had the worst retail experience of my life at this Home Depot today. I'm working on a building project locally to North Bergen, and given that my commute is over an hour, I thought I'd save time by having my partner order the supplies we need for pick up, rather than having to walk around the store after making it into town.
Boy , was I wrong.
The order was placed just past 11am, it is now 1:47pm and I'm just now able to leave the store.
We arrived and there was only one person working customer service/ order pick up. He requested help over the intercom to have someone fill our order. Help came, but not for that. A few employees just stood around socializing. Eventually he came and told us that's someone is working on our order.
We kept being told someone was "working on our order" for over 40 minutes. Then when the person finally came around, apparently there was an item out of stock--we were told they couldn't just add in a replacement piece, that we had to make a whole separate order for it. We conceded. Then we realized that our original order never processed with the JB weld epoxy that we need today, so again, rather than walk around and waste even more time, we asked the gentleman who brought the rest of the order where we might find the epoxy. He said "aisle 17, on the left." Which led us to an aisle with, you guessed it, no epoxy whatsoever. My partner decided to ask another store employee, who apparently didn't know what epoxy was or where it might exist, because that employee asked another, who proceeded to pull out his phone to Google the location of the item within the store. While he did that, I ended up just walking down the hall and guessing which aisle the epoxy might be at, lucky me that my first guess was right.
This experience was entirely too sad. I remember when you would come to Home Depot and you would be helped swiftly, and efficiently, by someone who not only knew what was in the store, but where it was.. 90% of the time, you'd end up being helped by someone who was a professional.
For not having wanted to waste my time initially, that is sure as hell what I accomplished today.
The one fantastic thing I was able to experience before leaving Home Depot today, was how immaculate the bathroom was. The cleaning crew absolutely deserves a raise.

TLDR;
If you're on a time crunch, don't further waste your time by placing an order for pick-up here, and don't expect any of the employees to know anything about anything, not even what/ where specific merchandise is.

What a bad experience at this location.
I went into this Home Depot with the intention of purchasing a patio dining table set for my son’s graduation party.
I waited in the patio area for a long time. I walked to the appliance area and when I found someone I asked for help and the person sent me to the customers service area. She said someone will call for assistance.
When I went to this area I approached someone that didn’t even let me speak he said I had to wait.
I told him I only have a question. He refused to assist.
I then approached someone who was working in an aisle. I thought she was Spanish. She said to me in a rude manner: I don’t speak Spanish. I said no problem let me tell you in English.
At this point I asked her for a manager. She saw someone passing by and directed me to that person. I expressed I have been waiting for a long time for someone to help. I also shared my experience with the customer service person.
She said she will be back to help….20min passed and she didn’t show up.
At this point I was upset and decided to go the line just to ask for help and get DM information, Regional manager information. I needed the contact number for someone to share my horrible experience.
No one provided me with the information.
I told them not a problem I will email this complaint to the CEO.
I ended going to Lowe’s where I purchased the item I needed.
It is incredible how during this time employees and bad management contribute to sales loss. I didn’t purchase because no one gave me service and it seems this behavior is allowed. The Leader didn’t get back to me no one cared about my horrible experience.

I gave this location 5 stars because of Danny. I just recently bought a house and have been in and out of this Home Depot location more times than I can count and he's the only associate willing to gladly help. Everyone else I ask for help sends me to a different person or claims that they don't know because they're from a different department. Danny makes it a point to help and find the answer or product - regardless of the department. The Home Depot should hire more team members like him!

El peor servicio que he experimentado en toda mi vida, tuve que ir 3 días en la misma semana, el primer día me dieron información incorrecta acerca de un envío, el segundo día fui creyendo que lo que me habían dicho era correcto, resulta que no, y en lugar de ayudarme me hicieron la vida imposible, decidí dejarlo para pick up al siguiente día, y ni siquiera con eso querían ayudarme, me amenazaron diciendo que si no iba a la hora en punto del pick up retornaban mis productos para la venta, al día siguiente volví 10 minutos antes de la hora, y oh sorpresa, tuve que esperar 1 hora porque mi orden no estaba lista, y ningún empleado se dignaba a atender el llamado de la cajera para ir y organizar la orden.

My kitchen sink was clogged so my dad went to home depot and asked a worker for help on what tool he needed, even showed him a picture of the pipe. Not even an hour later my dad goes back and said the machine the one worker helped him with didn’t work. He asked for a refund on that machine and help to get the machine he actually needed. If i could give this place a zero i would. My dad has trouble speaking english and the worker named Rossie said to my dad “im not gonna speak to you” “i don’t want to speak to you” my dad said “are you the owner” he stated “yes im the owner” “your english clearly isn’t enough to understand” and waved his hand in his face. he kept ignoring my dad and let him wait there for an hour without refunding him or even taking back the machine.

Truly the worst customer service ever. We ordered some items for delivery. They claimed they tried to deliver them, but "nobody was home" despite my wife and I both being home all night. They sent me an email saying that someone would call me to rearrange delivery, then sent me an email at 5am cancelling the order, then sent me another text the following day saying that someone would call me to reschedule delivery. I called them, and was given the runaround by various employees. When I asked to speak to a manager I was abruptly told that "theyre all in a meeting" (a blatant lie - there's always a floor manager on duty at any retail store). They then put me on hold again, only for someone else to pick up after a couple of minutes with zero clue of what was going on. I asked to speak to a manager again, was told ok, and ended up on hold again. Waited 20 mins or so while doing other work then gave up.
The long and short is that these people will lie to you, disrespect you, and not bother to communicate clearly with you. Shop at Lowe's.

The experience of the day was very boring. I was waiting for a QR code for almost 20 minutes. Nobody knew anything. The person who helped us was very unconcerned and totally disinterested in the work he was doing. It is very unpleasant to go to a store and be treated that way. Totally disrespectful!!!!!

Terrible experience today asked three times for some carpet to be cut was told twice by the same guy he’d be with me in a second. He “was with a customer”.. entire time he’s walking around with his hands in his pockets. Went Next-door to Lowe’s and was helped immediately. Used to like Home Depot won’t be shopping there anymore. Customer shouldn’t be waiting 30 minutes for some carpet to be cut. My time is just as valuable.

I buy a ton of things at this location. Most of the times I try pickup to save time.
I do agree with other reviews that the customer service most times is iffy and it’s hard to find folks in aisle to help out.
In the tile/blind section, luckily, Dan was around and helped me pick out and quickly checkout. He gave ideas and was so patient. It’s ppl like Dan that make the experience amazing. I hope he gets recognized. Thank you!

I bought an air conditioner that had to be returned twice. I purchased the product with two visa gift cards and as i paid the cashier threw away the gift cards. When i return the air conditioner the second time i wanted a refund and could not get my money back because it was on a gift card the CASHIER threw away. All they could offer was store credit. I don’t need $250 in Home Depot credit. WARNING if you pay with gift cards request them back because the cash won’t give them to you automatically and you’ll be stuck with store credit you don’t want or need.

Place is great and staff is very helpful.
Unfortunately Corp being cheap and useless have not upgraded the pay stations to acomodate samsung pay and Apple pay making it a great inconvenience. And let's not forget they don't have veteran reserved parking like the other hard ware stores

Terrible store. I ordered a shed TWICE and they had a hard time delivering it. The shed was on the shelf and they told me it’s not in stock and after I confronted them on how come they keep rescheduling my order they said it didn’t fit on the truck. The box that size would fit on a pick up truck let alone a Home Depot box truck. No body knows what they’re doing at this location. I had a similar situation when I ordered appliances from this Home Depot a couple years ago. Stay away if you don’t want to be disappointed. Worst Home Depot ever!!!

You guys need to fix the pick up process. The orders are never ready for pick up, hire new order pullers because the ones you guys have are a bunch of lazy teenagers. You guys need to hire people willing to work with a sense of urgency. You see these guys just walking around not doing their job taking their sweetest time to get things done. just socializing with other coworkers. Looks like this Home Depot don't have any managers and everybody does what they want in this place. 😖😖😖😖

Absolutely ridiculous experience, wasn’t there for any big project just purchasing a small item which cost less than some of the mowers on display. Looked through the whole half store and found no one to unlock. Had to go to service desk to ask them to call someone to the isle. No one showed up. Spent ant least 8-10 mins looking and waiting for someone to help. Didn’t wanna waste anyone’s time just wanted to purchase the product I came for and leave lol. Ended up going to Walmart down the road for a similar product with better reviews. What sense does it make to have locked products but no available help, and even when asked for help received none. Even if for theft prevention, there were other similar sized products in the aisle which cost way more were out and ready to grab. Poor management and lack of proper support, nonsensical theft prevention policy.
