This store is located right behind the Costco. This store is very busy during peak hours, they definitely need a self checkout. Staff is nice but the managers are highly unprofessional. They do stock tonne of items so good place to find lot of good stuff for target lovers. They also have fresh produce section and Starbucks at the entrance. Ample of parking is available in the front.

What was once a great store has been reduced to shambles due to their ridiculous checkout lanes. There are 14 lines, but at no point have I seen more than 5 open. And of those, 3 are self checkout. A Target store that can remind you of a school classroom. A school classroom that will have 25 benches and 75 students but for all that one teacher in the center.

A store that has a humongous parking and store space, large variety of items that are stocked, other amenities that include CVS, Starbucks and a Pizza Hut but only two cashiers at the checkout registers??? There’s not even a single self checkout lane. That’s some serious disproportionate ratio in a scale.

We have never had issues getting the items we’ve come looking for and even getting things that were unplanned. They have a lovely collection of everything and the returns process also happens seamless.

The only sour point as I mentioned already is the scant number of cashiers staffed as there’s always a waiting line anytime you shop and that sucks!

Extremely Disappointed - $50 Visa Card Tampered With**

I recently purchased a $50 Visa gift card from Target and had an awful experience. The card I bought was tampered with, and when I tried to use it, it was declined and I hadn’t even used it yet. This is completely unacceptable for a reputable store like Target.

I expect basic product integrity and security, especially with gift cards, and this incident has shaken my trust. The inconvenience and frustration caused by this issue were considerable. I had to spend time dealing with customer service, and despite their efforts, it was a very frustrating experience.

I hope Target will take serious measures to ensure this does not happen to other customers. Until then, I’ll be hesitant to purchase any gift cards from Target again.

This is a fairly mediocre store. Frequently out of stock on regular items with noticeable staffing and customer service issues. Often out of carts in store, not being recirculated by staff. Slow checkout with sometimes rude interface. It is not unusual to see one check out line. The self service lines, 4 of them, have signage limiting to 10 items or less. Last time I was there, there was a person, seemed like a manager or trying to act like one, calling this out over and over with the tone of an airport TSA agent. Stations became open with lines forming at staffed checkout. I often travel the extra distance to the Milltown store which seems to operate more effectively.

This used to be my “go to” Target since the one closest to me never has anything in stock. But the store has gone downhill. Today (once again) they only had one register open, but it was being taken over by a customer with a lot of items AND she was questioning the price of EVERY SINGLE ITEM. I went to the self checkout and an employee insisted on counting the five items in my cart to make sure I was under the 10 item or less limit. Two of my items had not been shelved in the right spot, so the price that rung up was more than the price on the shelf (this happens frequently). This time, she refused to edit the price, even though it was only a few dollars difference, and expected me to go back through the store to take pictures of the price. (I opted to have her remove the items).

Here is my experience lately... I go into the store, look for what I want... If I can't find it I try to use my phone but the building is constructed in a way to block cell service so that is a big hassle. I finally find that I want and go to pay and there is one cashier and 4 self checkout, this is serving about forty people. Now while this is going on there are about 4-5 people doing online order pickups that serve like 2-3 people at any one time.... 40 people vs 2-3 people. The people that run these stores obviously don't care about customer experience. Today I felt like I was at Walmart... Wake up target

If I could give them ZERO stars I would. I made an appointment for our eye exams and instead of them telling us in advance letting us know there will be fees, they wait till your sitting there to say “oh btw , there’s a mandatory $40 dollar fee for each of you for a damn picture”. GTFOH no thanks! When my insurance states free annual eye exam, in network I expect that. Not to mention, the staff look miserable like they don’t want to be there, not friendly at all. Never again!

This location used to be one of the best Target stores in the area. Unfortunately the quality of the Customer Service has gone down dramatically over the last 4 years. This is due to a substantial problem with this location lacking the amount of employees that are needed and/or lacking skilled team members. It is very obvious that many of the staff who work at this store are careless about the guest experience and do not put the necessary effort into their jobs. Even the managers of this store have become complacent, negligent, inattentive, derelict in the duties of their own positions to supervise and make corrections/improvements to poor employee performance. So many things are wrong with this location. They don't have any team members working in the Electronics department. The Clothing areas are an unorganized mess and look like an absolute disaster. The Check-Out experience has become horrible. There are not enough registers/cashiers open and the self-checkout lines are extremely long. This results in guests sometimes waiting up to 20-30 minutes in line, just to complete this process (which is a ridiculous amount of time!) I COULD keep going, but you get the idea. This store is in shambles and is deteriorating.

The closest target to me. Its in a prime location. The only problems are that they never seem to have enough cashiers and also my husband and I were using the self checkout and one of the employees was just staring at us like we were going to steal. As soon as we paid he walked away. I felt uncomfortable and found it sad because he never did this to anybody else in self checkout.

Target, for me is a bit of an underrated gem when it comes to retail stores in general.

On a recent trip to the Eastern United States Coast, I stopped at this very Target to get a present for my cousin, as I was visiting her, and my uncle in the New Brunswick area.

I was able to find the gift with no substantial problem whatsoever. I also found a package of NFL trading cards at the checkout counter for the low price of $7.49 for an amazing pack of 22 cards.

The service at this particular Target, unfortunately is not the best, as the cashier who serviced me was relatively concerned about my presence in the checkout line, but was still able to service me in-spite of a concerning presence.

The store itself, is also in a prime location, but itself is in need of a face-lift, as the store itself lacks a proper grocery section, and also a plentiful amount of self-checkout machines, which are both present commonly in modern-day Target locations, there also is a blatant shortage of that of cashiers present in the store, as has been the case in department stores for the better half of the past 5 years.

As always pretty neat and cleanly maintained. Usually most items in stock, and associates are friendly and helpful. Only concern being, managing the checkout counters. Over 20 people and 2 counters were operating and both seemed junior level, while they're very friendly, experienced fast movers would be helpful. Besides that, my go to store for most of the items.

This store is typically very clean and quiet. The only and most important downfall is there are no cashiers. At maximum, there are two but it's very rare. There is always one long line of customers for the single cashier. Which is frustrating if you're grabbing a handful of items. I put all of my items back on the shelf and left. There is no self checkout at this store either. There's always at least two people working customer service but I've never witnessed them assist with checkouts when it's busy. It's worse at night bc more people are coming in but no cashiers. The line wraps all the way to the greeting cards.

I've been to this Target a few times. Ice had great experiences doing mobile pick up. The order comes our quickly. The grocery is in the back of the store, wish it was in the front. They have a decent selection, but some items were out of stock. Over all I was pleased with my visits.

Once I entered the store, very dim lighting. Once I found what I wanted, I felt
nauseous and bad vibes. Mysterious squeaking noise coming from what seemed the ceiling. Abandoned Pizza Hut Express!
It was very eerily silent and there was only 1 cashier and a long line with no self checkout available. There was next to nobody there yet parking lot full. In my opinion a bad simulation of a TRUE Target. Thankfully I mad it out alive. Otherwise I did get what I came for but don't recommend for the squeamish. Highly recommend South Brunswick Target over this one

I shop here all the time, they racially profile you here. I see the undercover store security all the time, I spend too much money here. The worst part is, on your way out the undercover security that followed you through every aisle, is standing outside on your way out. Just waiting for the alarm to go off. It’s disrespectful and very rude, I will buy from elsewhere because Walmart is not an option. You lost a valuable customer.

I was staying nearby from out of state & can say this was positively the worst target I have ever been to in my life. I couldn’t believe the state of the aisles in this store. This target is horrible. They racially attacked me and my family as soon as we walked in, they started following us and treating us unfairly compared to the white customers. This store desperately needs a self checkout. Prior to holiday season 2021, they had makeshift self checkouts, but they haven't brought them back since. I'm surprised there aren't any since this is a fairly new store. I'm not sure who does payroll and scheduling but they don't seem to schedule cashiers, making the lines incredibly long. The drive-up location is in an incredibly inconvenient spot... For the workers. I'm not sure why they're so far away when Target is so strict about how long OPU takes.

Their produce sucks. On multiple occasions I've seen expired food and drink on the shelves, some having been expired for over a month.

Lack of self check out registers means there will always be a long wait. I've walked right back out in the middle of the day because the 2 registers open had lines going back to the clothes and jewelry counter. It's closer so convenient but night just go to Milltown or South Brunswick and it'll probably be faster even with the longer drive. Plenty of old food in the store, twice I've done store pick up for snacks and it's old. Here is today's shopping

This is a good Target. Very clean and pretty well-stocked. However, yesterday I was annoyed by a loud worker there. She was on the phone (using a headset) in the housewares dept. She was SO LOUD. I mean, LOUD! From the conversation, it sounded like she was pulling an order for a customer. And then it sounded like she was on a personal call. Anyway, I had to leave that dept for a while because this person was just strangely LOUD. She seemed to have.....no clue.

After seeing that the chair was of desirable quality, I decided to buy another one. Not only did Nelly determine that there was only one left, he found it incredibly fast despite the 90+ degree heat. Thanks Nelly!!! With high caliber associates like Nelly, its obvious why I choose to shop at Target over the competitors.

I was at the hotel just across the parking lot from this Target store, so at least for this trip, it was the most convenient Target store.

Can't comment much on the availability of goods at this store because I went directly to what I needed and everything I wanted was where I expected to find it. (I guess that was one for the plus column.) The Target phone app makes the process of checking for prices and discounts consistent across all Target stores so I don't bother to rate Target stores by the availability of shelf tags and price checkers any more.

Service was good and the employees actually offered help without my having to ask.

The only thing that seemed lacking at this Target store was there aren't any self-checkout stations. Come on, man! All the Target stores in my area have self-checkout.

I despise this Target location!

Drive up pick up service every time I come here I am waiting 30 minutes. I could have been in the store bought everything and been out in that time. I call them and no one picks up. I got angry tonight after 39 min wait. I walk in. There’s 3 people working in the department. They gave me every excuse in the book including mentioning that it started raining! I don’t care that it’s raining. You are supposed to do your job if you offer a service or don't so it all.

Lines are insanely long every time I shop in the store. Products I need always out of stock. I only come here because it’s 3 minutes from home. At this point I’m so angry I need to talk to the district manager. So much of my time has been wasted trying to do simple shopping here.

I like the glasses section I wish it was a better selection of glasses but the Frozen Section seems to be empty most of the time and Bakery, when I come here. Not much of a variety as usual. The Hot Food Section is probably going to be closed because they haven't been open for a while after Covid which sucks.

Excellent customer service.!!!
Our old TV would no longer power on and we needed to get a new one. North Brunswick Target has gone well above my expectations with assisting us on our purchase.

For a place that is new and built with a staff that cares nothing about nothing but cleanliness as well as customer satisfaction. Place is flawless for the time being, could change in the future, but for now it felt great to shop at target.

Worst target ever! They take forever to bring out your items for drive up and now they don’t even offer drive up on items that need to be refrigerated. And no self check out. They will continue to loose customers if they don’t do better.

Jackie in the guest service department is absolutely amazing. ive been having trouble returning something at a few different locations and shes the first employee to actually help ensure that the process would be easy for me and personally made sure i was taken care of. i had an amazing experience because of her!

also matt was very very helpful, we ran into a few speed bumps during the return and he went out of his way to make it possible for me to return the product. both of them were very amazing at helping me with the situation!!

Very nice target location, usually always has what I need. Staff on the other hand.. the least bit helpful. Worst customer service I’ve ever received anywhere.
