I will never be going back to this store. The prices do not ring up correctly and their people do not care. I brought it to the man’s attention he told me there was nothing he could do. He refused to send anyone to look or bother himself. Sadly this place was my son’s first job and this company has been going downhill since after Covid. Such a shame!

πŸ₯¬πŸŽ Acme Grocery Review 🍎πŸ₯¬

Acme is the reliable old standby many forget about. Despite its long-standing presence, its advertising doesn't do enough to make it stand out as a top choice. The store is older, and with loyal customers aging, it risks fading like Fishers Foods.

πŸ‘€ Customer Service: This location is currently under remodel, but customer service often falls short. The "not my section, not my problem" attitude is way too common. Best Practice? Stay with the customer, find a solution, or summon help! πŸ‘¨β€πŸ³ Make it second nature to acknowledge and assistβ€”it'll go a long way.

🍞 Verdict: If you're on a quick errand, Acme can get the job done, but there's room for serious improvement in customer service. πŸ›’

EXPIRED FOOD! There is so much food on the shelves that is expired or very close to expiring!! What is happening to the North Canton Acme location!? Is the $10 million renovation really going to help this store??? I'm really seriously thinking of going elsewhere after many years of shopping at the North Canton Acme! It's really going downhill fast!

I've shopped Acme for 50 years and have always supported the local stores. Lately, the N. Canton location, is under a remodel. I understand the rearranging of things during construction but empty shelves are quite a problem. If I have to go to 2 places for groceries, I'll just go to the one who has product for sale.

This store better step it up if they hope to compete with Meijer across the street. Most of the people who work there act like they are doing us a favor by being there. They are rude, not helpful and will not go out of their way in the slightest to assist customers. There are some who are very nice, but they do not make up for the awful ones.

They were out of three of their advertised specials. I also found multiple packages of outdated bacon in the case. How this chain stays in business is beyond me. Most of us only shop for the specials at ACME because their regular prices are 25 percent or more higher than Walmart. I'll be glad when all the ACME stores are bought out by Kroger or similar down the road. This poor level of service and exorbitant pricing cannot continue for long.

After the reorganization of the frozen foods section the foods in the bins are now being sold thawed which is a massive health hazard and I'm honestly shocked its hasnt been immediately reverted. I work in food and if foods cross a temperature threshold they need to be tossed, they can't be brought back Into a safe range. Don't be surprised if you have to visit the er after eating some of it.

I used to shop at Acme when I lived closer but I stopped going there because their prices are high, their fresh foods are often not very fesh, and their fresh flowers die quickly (and one time I realized they were moldy after I got home). But I got excited when I saw a good sale in their ad that said "Tidy Cats 20 pound cat litter 2 for $12" and the picture showed that it was the 20 pound plastic jug of clumping litter. However, when I went into the store to find this sale, I saw that the plastic jugs of clumping litter were marked $12 and it was the bags of non-clumping clay litter that were marked 2 for $12. Anyone who has cats knows that there's a big difference between clumping and non clumping litter. I was annoyed and confused because the ad showed it was the plastic jugs of clumping litter on sale and I had made a special trip out of my way to go to Acme for this sale. I asked customer service and they said that the company had a misprint in the ad and put the wrong picture in...and that was it. It was false advertising, their mistake, but all they basically said was "oops sorry" and were not honoring the advertised sale price even though it was their mistake. I used to work at Giant Eagle in North Canton and whenever we accidentally misrepresented a sale price we honored it because it was our mistake. I already have never been very impressed with Acme in the past and now this is just the cherry on the sundae. I forsee this outdated, expensive, not-customer-friendly store becoming the next Fisher foods as soon as Meijer opens up down the road.

I've been going here for about 6 months now after discovering their awesome cereal selection. They have a lot of sales on them often. Overall, I like this store a lot (my wife prefers Giant Eagle). Unfortunately, all it takes is one bad encounter to ruin your upbeat feelings of a place, start noticing other little nuances, and change your persepctive... and that is:

Andrew at the Deli. It was my first time communicating with someone from behind the deli counter, and barring some type of emergency, most likely my last. I asked Andrew for a pound of Colby cheese. He pointed at all the prepackaged cheeses that had been made earlier in the day. A .47 lb'r here, a .39 lb'r there, but no "pound" of Colby cheese. He asks if I needed anything else, and I ask him for a pound of cracked pepper turkey. His response: "we don't carry that," as he walks down the line of meats behind the glass display counter. I said "really... you don't carry cracked pepper turkey?" I'm sifting through multiple prepackaged Colby cheese bags at this point, trying to add the decimals I need up to a pound... "Oh wait, we do have it," Andrew says with an odd smirk. He opens up and unwraps a brand new cracked pepper turkey hunk of meat and takes it over to the slicer... 1.3 lbs. That's cool. I'm not into making scenes and didn't want to argue with Andrew, but I would've preferred 1 pound of freshly cut cheese in ONE bag, rather than scavenge for the right weights and end up leaving the deli counter with THREE bags of cheese, 1 bag of cracked pepper turkey.

I got the ad for crab legs for 7.99 a lb. When I got there I had the current ad for them on my phone. I was told by store employees the ad expired a week before. When I showed them the ad that was current they simply said we r a n out.
I called another store and they said the ad for Friday expires at 12:01 Am !!!
When I questioned that the person told me the never had the product in the ad. He said the Acme Corporation runs ads all the time for items not in the store. They don't honor the ads and they advertise all the time for products they simple don't have. They also said th e y NEVER GIVE RAIN CHECKS and don't say while ad supplies last in the advertising.

-1 star. The deli is horrible, all I wanted was some things sliced differently and larger portions. they make feel you as if you’re putting them out, for asking them to do their job. They just want to push the pre portioned things on you, which 3 times I’ve gotten rotten lunch meat. That was the second time they were rude to me. This is why I go to Giant eagle normally even though I live right down the road from acme. I can’t wait for Meijer’s and Aldi to open.

We had been shopping at Acme regularly because its location is convenient to us. However, our grocery budget was getting ridiculously high and we did some research on prices at other stores around-pretty much everything at Acme is 2-3 dollars more expensive. If I was paying for a higher quality experience I could understand that a bit more but there is nothing special about the store itself, and the employees are either grumpy old people or kids who don't care. The final straw for us was when I went in for coffee creamer and there was only 1 left of the brand we use that was expired literally three weeks ago. How is it acceptable to have a 3 week expired item still on the shelf!? I can't wait to have a Meijer open close by so we have better options in North Canton.

High prices, filthy store. The Albrecht company that owns Acme has delayed North Canton getting a Meijer store. with baseless points. North Canton has traditionally had at lest 3 proximate grocery stores. The only other TRUE grocery store close to North Canton is Giant Eagle. Shoppers who are particular about food do not consider other types of stores grocery stores. Instead of blocking competition Acme should build a new clean modern store (like the Green and Jackson Township locations) and LOWER PRICES to compete. That's how Capitalism works.
