First and last time spending money at this location. I went in to get some birthday cards and figured while I was in there I might as well look at the auto section. On my way to check out I decided to get a Gatorade and right as I was closing the fridge an employee walked up to me and said, “Nuh uh baby, you’ve got to go. We’re closing.” I checked my phone and it was 7:59. I apologized and said I’m sorry I didn’t know you closed at 8 every other dollar general I’ve been to closes at 10 (Moore, Harrah, and other locations in Norman).

If she would have just said hey we close at 8 or told me we’re closing soon I would have happily ended my shopping. That approach was just rude. If I know a business closes at a certain time I don’t go the last 30 minutes they’re open out of respect. I genuinely had no idea they closed earlier than other locations.

The girls working there right now are great! They were so helpful and even took bags out for us bc my daughter wasn't feeling well and my mom and I are both disabled. It meant so much to me!

Five years ago this was the second worst DG I’d ever seen, after the downtown Chickasha store that was incredibly dark and had no AC in August.
*Now*, we pop in here at least twice a week for all the things we need between big store trips and we are rarely disappointed! Not only are they convenient, they are surprisingly well stocked (even with supply chain issues) AND the prices are aligned with Walmart and Amazon on most things. We have been very pleased with the selection of cold and frozen foods (meats, dairy items and prepared dishes) and pretty shocked by their baking mixes and wide array of pantry selections. Our teen daughter is quite the baker. When sent on an ingredient run, her dad has taken to stopping here first because most of the time, it is “one and done”.
The aisles…we do have to address the aisles. This store is TINY compared to the location on Porter, north of Rock Creek. That one is massive in comparison! You want roomy aisles?…drive a couple of miles. Personally, I don’t mind dodging a few (sometimes more than a few) stocking carts if they are WELL STOCKED! At least they are well lit enough to see and not blazing hot!
Don’t forget the staff. Everyone is so friendly and helpful! This is the only DG where I have had a staff member help my child and me out the door with our things. <3
Hey West Norman! Get over yourselves! You need a Dollar General in your lives. For a family trying to have all they need for normal while dodging crowds, this has been our little restock oasis!!!

Robert is super nice and a gentleman, will come open the door for you and is always helpful. He's been there forever! Most of the other staff are friendly as well. I always come here when I forget something at Target, which is pretty often lol .

This store always has everything I need. They work very hard to keep their shelves stocked. There is a Dollar General a quarter of a mile from me and I will never go there again, they do not stock shelves or have baskets. I drive 3 miles to get what I need.

Been so long since I've been to this one. It does seem like the building, a little old & run down. But, still going strong. The workers were polite, but, it's not very busy, so they do stare at you like they haven't seen humans in a min. It's messy. But, like every other dollar general.

Just a terrible store. Aisles to small, most were empty. Dirty floors. Register system was down. Cash only couldnt honor coupons. 1 bright note the lady cashier was very friendly through all her heads she was dealing with.

If 3 stars is average, there is no doubt this place is below average. In fact, its a complete and total disaster. Looks like a tornado has blown through the store most of the time! Its only positive, redeeming thing is that it occassionally has some stuff that other more well organized and trafficked DGs have already run out of ... if you can find it.
