I came in today to celebrate the holidays with my boyfriend. The City of North Bend does really good at putting on festivities for Christmas. One of these festivities is called Elf on the Shelf. It's a really laid back game that the businesses participate in. You go in and you looks for the elf and then get entered in to a raffle to win a small prize. One of the shop owners or workers have offered me a tip or a hint in the past when I had struggled to find the elf. Well Fat Cat Antiques is a huge store! My boyfriend and I searched the entire store looking for the Elf and I finally was like Well maybe this guy will give me a tiny hint. So I patiently waited for him to get done with the customer he had been helping even though there was no dialogue between the two but I didn't want to be rude. He finally acknowledged me and asked if I had a question. I politely asked him "I was just wondering if you were able to give a hint at where the Elf may be?" He responded very sarcastically and rude "No, I'm not going to give you a hint that's not how it works." I told him "OK, well I was just wondering because other shops have offered a tip in the past, it could've been something simple as you're cold or it's in the back of the store." He continued to have an attitude and I told him he didn't need to be rude to me as it was just a question. He then proceeded to tell me "You can just leave my store!" I ended up leaving and will not be back until the establishment changes ownership. I've looked at other reviews and it appears as it may be the same male that is condescending to women. He must've never learned any respect for women or has something personal against them but either way it's no way to treat a customer especially during a holiday event put on by the City. It's a terrible look for your business. If you don't want to be in the holiday spirit or just simply be professional to the public, don't participate! This person could've just told me respectfully "No, I'm sorry I can't give out any hints." That would've been suffice. On a side note, all the other businesses that participated were wonderful and pleasant and will continue to get my business and recommendations for families and friends.

There is lots of parking on the street. There's so much to look at and so many treasures to find.You have to have time and patience to find your perfect treasure here

Extremely rude and believe the older gentleman (possible owner) there doesn't like women. Speaks very condensing to women. If it had only been once, I understand people have bad days but twice now isnt just a bad day. Will never shop there again.

This is one store you have to visit soon !! All the cool stuff I found three Xmas gifts in nothing flat ! Then there is so much stuff to look an an enjoy 😊it's going to be a must visit store for me an it should be foy you also fair prices an great merchandise from big to small they definitely have It all.

My favorite of the antique shops in town. Aside from a large and varied inventory, they have a large assortment of furniture and artwork too.

Horrible, the owner told me my silver and gold was if no interest to him and had little value, then was unaware of the gold itself, owners should retire if gold and silver have no interest or value to them, but a broken toy car dose.....Fat Cat, Fat Joke.....will never acknowledge them again or others I do business with......

Employees were terribly pushy. Acted like our slight interest in items made it a done deal. My mother asked the price of a lamp, which he brought down to 150. She said she needed to think about it because it wasnt even in great condition, the guy working there got very upset, brought it back up to 225 and made snarky comments. Has had a succession of bad owners, will never go back.

I love this place, they have a plethora of neat things in very good condition. I've secured everything from a barrister bookcase to a little woodstove to kitchen nicknacks & utensils from a bygone age. The owner is a sweetheart and welcoming. You'll have an enjoyable experience, I'm sure!
