Since it's the holiday season and there are food drives going on, I decided to buy 100 can goods for my son's school food donation drive they were doing. I called Safeway to see if I could get 100 cans of various beans products. They obliged without hesitation, and they had my order ready, definitely within 30 minutes, which I thought was really good the Friday before Christmas. So, I picked them up and got to my car when I was notified the school had already stopped the donations 🤦‍♂️ So, I put all of the cans back in the cart and proceeded to return all 100 cans 🤦‍♂️ When I got to the customer service desk I was greated by a team member named Courtney. She quickly figured out what she needed to do and did it without skipping a beat, refunding all 100 cans to me, as the store was swamped. Neither Courtney nor any of her other co-workers were bent out of shape about my return, how long it was taking, or how the line was filling up with people. They stayed very focused at their taskes as well as having a primary focus on customer service. I highly recommend this place based on not only that, but they were also willing to give me an employee discount on the products so that I would save more. I was to buy assorted types of canned beans, so a variety, and my bill had been $91.60 for the 100 cans. Clearly under $1 per can, which is almost unheard of these days. Thank you, Safeway, and thank you, Courtney!

Horrible customer service in the bakery. Was asking an employee about a particular cake to possibly order when another just abruptly snaps "NO!" and walks by shaking her head. No help, no solution. Absolutely rude and unhelpful. We decided to go with another cake in the case, had to wait 10 mins to be asked for help. Same rude employee finally came up and we showed her the cake we wanted. She snapped, "Well you need to move, I have to open the case". Made me feel stupid. I had no idea they accessed from the from and not the back. Do not appreciate being talked to like that when inquiring on ordering or when not knowing how the case works.

I placed a 400 dollar order with drive up and go that was supposed to be picked up at 5 pm. As I pull into the spot for pick up and pull my app out, I realize it says order delayed. I call the number on the app. I'm met with a kirt "hold please", and then nothing. The man finally comes on the phone and I explain to him I have traveled 30 min to come in and grab my groceries and there wasn't a text message or phone call sent to tell me about the delay. I have a sick kid in the car, and usually do my own shopping. I ask about the delay time and the kid irritatingly states that he doesn't know and that he is 1.5 hours behind already. I ask him if he has a manager on the floor helping him and he says yes she is helping. I ask again for a time frame to come back as I would have come back the next day even. The kid cops the hugest attitude with me so I ask to talk to the manager ( I feel like a total Karen at this point) but these people have 400 dollars of my money. He then lies and says his manger has gone home for the day. So I not so nicely say he better find a manager or I'm marching in to the store. The manager Courtney gets on complaining about how she has stayed over 15 minutes already, but she will do my shopping order and be out in 20 min. I have now been sitting here 45 minutes waiting for my groceries with my sick kid in the car. As I'm sitting here I see 5-6 people coming after me and get their drive up and go orders and leave. Somehow they were alerted? I will NEVER use this service again and will be taking my Safeway business to Coos Bay.

Absolutely horrible!! I ordered 3 days in advance for two party trays. The wraps are a third of the size from others I have ordered from Roseburg Safeway and they charged me 60 dollars anyway. Then the shrimp tray they tried to pass off right from the premade section and charge me a dollar more than you can walk up and buy them for! The only good thing is the wonderful lady in the meat department tried her best with what she had. It’s completely wrong but she was amazing and really did her best!! I am so disappointed and will not order trays from this Safeway again. However to the woman who helped me in the meat department…she deserves a raise!! Thank you!

Some of the better quality meat and produce in town but ordering from their deli has gone down hill. Ordered the express special which is significantly more expensive these days which I was willing to accept but they only partially filled the container. Not worth the money I put it back in their deli section and left they can keep their overpriced partially filled container of Chinese food.

I usually go to Safeway on Johnson in Coos Bay, but I was in North Bend and went to the Safeway there, it was on 4/17/24 at around 2pm and the thinner woman working in the deli was the rudest person I have encountered in a very long time, I will continue to shop at Safeway on Johnson, they aren't rude there

Although listed as the smallest Safeway in America, they do still have big savings and big value. The employees here are friendly and helpful, greeting you with a smile and always thanking you for your business. There is plenty of parking, even dedicated R.V. spots, and it's conveniently located in Lakeside, OR. not far off of HWY 101.
If you need to get items for your home meals, just the essentials or even some not so common items on your next outdoor adventure, consider stopping in and seeing the folks at this Safeway location, you will not be disappointed!

We stopped in to get fresh flowers for a family event. Absolutely beautiful roses and small green flowers similar to chrysanthemums. Family members made a wedding arch that turned out exactly like the photos we found online. The roses stayed pretty for an entire week, even after taking them down off the arch and making little bouquets. Both Safeway stores in this area had the same beautiful cut flowers for reasonable prices. Safeway comes through again! 🌹

2 days ago, I was shopping at safeway when I felt the affects of my diabetes starting to crash. I went to the deli for something sweet. The person that helped me was Cindy. She noticed something wrong and I told her I was crashing. She offered to leave the top open and handed me a paper towel and fork. She put the price sticker on the bottom. I want to praise Cindy for her kindness and observations. As one who has to deal with diabetes, it meant a lot to me for her help! Thank you Cindy!

the prices are a little inflated, but the staff here is wonderful. the produce and meat are always top notch. the bathrooms are always clean.
the pharmacy needs a little bit of work. no complaints about the actual staff, but the line for the pharmacy is usually quite long and you have to stand in line blocking everyone's access to to some of the groceries.
I think if I could change anything about this store it would be the pharmacy waiting situation. there should be a separate waiting area so as not to interrupt the shopping experience and traffic for the rest of the shoppers. it's just a really bad design.
otherwise, a wonderful shopping experience.

Safeway is a nice store to shop at. Yes, it's more expensive than Walmart and other bargain grocery stores, but safeway has superiors quality products. Example: Lucerne Milk tastes great; from California, it's not bad. Great Value Milk taste like white water, and we have no idea where their milk came from.

Safeway meat: top of the line. Walmart meat: You get old, starved cows. Safeway is owned by Albertsons. They kept it largely the same, and its appreciative. Their security is better (hardly any reprobates), they treat you nicer, and it's a pleasant experience. The only reason. Why they're not receiving a 5 star is because, for some reason, their prices on beer and wine are outrageous. You're going to pay several dollars more for the same beer at a convenience store; Yes!!! Their beer is more expensive than 7-Eleven's. I think it's because they're a Mormon company, and they are trying to save your soul. It's hard to say.

Fridays sales are wonderful, but very busy. I find that going shopping for groceries around 8-9pm during a week night is perfect time. Maybe 10 people in the store and employees are so much nicer because they are not being rushed, screamed at by customers and their stress levels are calmer and it shows when you ask for any type of assistance while shopping later in the evenings. Just park on the floral side doors because they lock the Deli side doors at 9pm for safety because less staff is needed to be there in every single the department, because they close nightly at 11pm.
The self check out is food for many things. It keeps you calm as you buy your groceries at your own pace, and it helps you keep track of each thing you ring up so you don't over shop as much of us tend to do.The online App is a wonderful incentive to shop at Safeway because you really do save money everytime you shop there. And most people even save on gasoline fill ups and coffee services to, and their convince of being on the property as well. Safeway also has a Delivery service and instacart available for those who can't or are not able to get out of the homes to shop for themselves or aren't feeling well or just plain don't enjoy shopping at all, but love the Quality of the great food Safeway has to offer.
There's even a section for dinning inside for customers who want to enjoy a meal from the Groceries they've purchased, or from the delicious choices that the Deli & Bakery has to offer us daily.
So if your lòoking for Quality, perfect service, and prices we can afford, SAFEWAY is the choice for me.

Went to Safeway. Thank God they have a full service gas station. They also have a bakery,deli and full service Chinese menu on certain days. They also have Starbucks. And you can get coffee on your food stamp card for those days when you need an extra boost of caffeine to keep you going
