If you're a history lover, you're assured of a fulfilling and may be an eye opening revelation of local neighborhoods' history!
Though it's smaller in space, there are enough themes and those are very thoughtfully organized and creatively displayed ! Very impressive!
A scaled model of 1900s Hampton Terrace Hotel and its surrounding landmarks are the special highlights !
History starting from the time of American Indians along the Savannah River, through the lost city of Hamburg and to the present time...
The neighborhoods' past & present engagements are showcased in various themes ranging from railroads, working, industries, wartime, horse country, leisure, textile, etc. Something is for everyone!
Also, there's a special exhibit rotating, believe in two months frequency.
Being located in relatively new building of the city call, there's always great attention and of course managed by professionals and friendly staff !
It also houses a duty free shop promoting the local artists' creations.
Enough parking and easy approach roads.

If you’ve never been you definitely need to go. I love history and enjoyed walking through and looking at the exhibits. Very well done. Be sure to go over and see Terri in the gift shop where you can purchase from local artist, from pottery to jewelry and everything in between.
