We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit helping those in need in the North Augusta/Belvedere area with food, clothing, & medicine/utility assistance. Our thrift store is open M-F from 9:30 until 5:30 for shoppers, and those in need can interview for assistance W, Th, and F from 9:30 until 2:00 (arrive by 1:30 & bring SC ID and SS cards for those in household).
Mostly junk. Things piled together on and under tables. Many items were broken and stained and worn out. The few items amongst the trash that looked decent were incredibly over priced! A used mixer for 10 dollars when a brand new one is 12 is crazy. If I wanted to pay 300 dollars for a chair I’d go to Ashley’s furniture. Do better!

This place has been my saving grace for my children and I!!
How they helped me:
About 5 years ago I was in a very rough spot in my life. Community Ministry of NA or CMONA helped saved me. I could not be where I am today in life without their help.
If you are in need of help with bills, food, clothes, someone to talk too, this is where you need to go!
I was too proud to ask for help from anyone, my English professor pulled me to the side one day and told me I know something is troubling you and I'm not sure what it is. She wrote down CMONA and told me that I should go volunteer there a few days a week. Those few days turned into a few years. At the time Nancy was the director and she had noticed I was having a bad day, she pulled me aside and we started talking. I broke down! My walls fell apart and I came crashing down. Nancy listened to every word that day. She didnt judge me, instead she picked me up and went straight into action by making some calls. Next thing I know my children had food and clothes that same day. I was helped with a utility bill that I was struggling with. Nancy didnt stop there. She helped point me in the right direction for a job! I made great life long friends while helping out the ministry. They helped me get through the roughest time of my life. They didnt stop there though, they encouraged me to push through everything I was dealing with while working on my college degree! They held me up the whole way through it all.
Ever since then I help repay them for all that they have done by donating items, food, and monetary items to help the next person who comes in for help. They can always use volunteers! You never know whos life you can change by being apart of something, it may change their life for the better.
About the Ministry: (Wheelchair friendly)
Nancy has since retired and Elizabeth has now taken over and I'm so happy to see the new building and thrift store. They now have assistance with helping you apply for jobs, signing up for food assistance or Medicaid, or if you just need someone to take the time to talk to or pray with you, they now have a room for you to fall part as they listen.
It's hard being proud and not wanting to ask for help! I know, I have been there before. Do not be afraid to ask for help. With the new building and thrift store CMONA is able to help with so much more!!
About the Thrift Store: (Wheelchair friendly)
Anything that is donated to the thrift store, bill.sold, the money goes to the ministry to help those who come into the ministry that need help with food, clothes, or utility bills. So the next time you buy something from the thrift store just remember you are helping those who walk into the ministry side who really need it! They get a lot of great items in daily. You can find furniture (beds, dressers, mattresses, couches, chairs, kitchen tables, etc.), jewelry, craft supplies, clothes, shoes, books, bicycles, children toys, dolls, baby items, office items, lamps, picture frames, dishes, pots and pans, China sets (they get in some beautiful full sets of china!), workout equipment, gowns, wedding dresses, men's suits, hats, etc. Watch their Facebook page for their weekly sales and new items that come in.
Their new location just opened up this week 08/23/2021. They are located at 531 Belvedere-Clearwater Road in North Augusta, M-F from 9:30am until 5:30pm.
They only take donations at the thrift store on M-F from 9:30am to 2pm. They ask to please only donate during working hours. Anything that gets left outside they are unable to use if the weather ruins those items being donated.
Their ministry is open for assistance Wednesday's, Thursday's and Friday's from 9:30am to 2pm.

One of my favorite thrift stores for clothes and books. They usually have really good deals of the week. Household items can be priced kind of high though, but can usually be marked down.

They’re priced to make money, not get rid of stuff (IMO thrift stores should be priced to move items and avoid build up of donations), so I consider most things overpriced. And the two older ladies that normally run the register are SO rude. While looking through the glass cases up front they will boldly talk of others in the store. THE OTHER LOCATION IS AMAZING THOUGH!! Everybody there is welcoming and sweet. Much more down to earth than the other store.

The ladies who volunteer here are so nice, but the prices alone keep me away. A super used Fossil purse for $30, a well-worn Old Navy shirt for $5, used 6 year old Nine West heels for $20, the list goes on and on. I've stopped visiting and instead drive all the way to Augusta to go shopping simply because of the outrageous prices here. If someone is shopping at a thrift store, do you think they can afford/want to buy a used $45 coat?

I have been buying things from community ministries for several years and have found the best time to get a deal is when they have 50% off. Sometimes they even have 75% off, what a bargain. Today when I went in I was amazed at the transformation of the store. They have been re-organizing the shelves and have made it very easy to find things. Way to go Community ministries of North Augusta I’ll be back.

The lady in charge of this ministry, very unprofessional, hung the phone up on me, refused to give a store credit on the bed frame set that was ticketed as a king size, that she measured and assure me it was I will never ever give them any of my business again, you call yourself a Christian, unbelievable!!!

I have to say I absolutely love this store. People complain about the prices bc things are donated. They don t think about where the money actually goes. They help lots of people with food, Utility bills, thanksgiving and Christmas. Thank y all so much for all the work y all do.

Christian Ministries of North Augusta has not been very easy dealing with considering I was trying to donate a vehicle and the individual in charge of handling these matters [Nancy Joyce Executive Director, Forward in Faith Leadership] couldnt find the time to return my phones calls. Furthermore when I reached out to her again I was told that she is a very busy, busy, person and she didnt think she would have the time to return my calls. Thats the end of that donation and I will be sure to pass along to others the clear message that this is a dysfunctional organization.

The prices are too high. The items are donated, the workers are volunteers.(used flat sheet $5, used jacket $50, shirt $20 etc..) We shop at these places because most of us cant afford Walmart/ the mall, with their prices you may as shop at Macys blow out sales... New close for the same prices...
