Very cool place. I went in for a book signing and the place left me speechless. So many options so clean and tidy and the staff so friendly and knowledgeable. Great place to start on Christmas shopping. And the coffee shop is great too.

Anytime I visit the area, I always make the effort to stop here once or twice. Their manga section always has something for me to get while I'm browsing, and I can always do so with a coffee from their coffee shop.

The place is very relaxed, and the selection for anything is nothing but massive. I could be in here for hours, but vacations sadly don't last forever. Cheers. 🤙

Kinda going downhill and sections are poorly organized.
They have tons of displays with various types of books but they are heavily duplicated from one to the other.
Many sections are in two different areas or go around a weird corner.
The travel section organization is incomprehensible.
Cluttered.
Weird displays.

Ive never been to a store that is so hell bent on not selling a product. I went for an item that showed in stock but an employee said it wasn’t there without checking the computer but when I said the website showed it there I was told “it’s in the back and would take too long”. I called 2 days later and they said it was still in the back and to check back later. I was in the area the next day and was told “It’s still in the back” by a different employee. Save your headache and go anywhere else but books a million.

This is the only cool bookstore location in the North Charleston area since there's no more Barnes & Nobles to compete with them.

Also, there's no more Gloria Jeans in Northwoods Mall so there's no other cofee drink place to compete with them, either.

Never in my life have I been to a store that will not provide a bag to a customer who has made a purchase. If you buy several items you are forced to also buy a bag from them or carry your items in your arms. Not customer friendly! WTH?

I have been a fan of Books a Million for years! I prefer BAM over their more expensive competitors. I love the smell of books! I love the store layout. I also got two book light from them.

Went there to check it out since I haven't been there in a while. I was impressed. Loved the atmosphere and layout. variety of books, and my daughter loved the animals. Will be visiting again soon.

They don't have bags, which is super annoying because most other stores in the mall don't give bags unless you buy something, so there's always risking damage to your book because you have to carry it unprotected, but otherwise I love this place. Anytime I need a book, I go here. They might not always have it, so always check the website, but I usually walk out with something I love.

During my recent visit to Books-A-Million, I was on the hunt for a specific title. Upon asking an employee for assistance, I was met with a nonchalant shrug and an admission of not knowing, followed by a chuckle and a remark about needing to clock in. Expecting he might return post clock-in to aid in my search, he left me hanging. My frustration mounted as the book remained elusive. It wasn't until I approached the front desk and interacted with another staff member that my experience took a turn for the better. This second employee demonstrated exemplary service by promptly locating the book in their system and directing me to its place in the store. Thanks to his diligence, I was able to find the book quickly and leave the store feeling gratified. This level of customer service is invaluable, and while I regret not catching his name, his assistance did not go unappreciated. The first employee, however, could benefit from additional training to better support customers in need.

Forgot to review from the Holidays, because it’s the only time I actually had to search for a book (as a gift). We’ve been coming here for years so it’s a very good spot for a bit of everything. They have tons of Funko, Action figures, Pop culture, Anime, ect and of course Books. A bit pricey but that’s to be expected.

My only complaint is the one time I requested help finding this book. I was led by one employee who just said “it’s in the middle” but took no further initiative to help. No it wasn’t busy it was dead, and also no the book was not in the middle.

So after searching myself for a good 45 mins, I decided to go back up there and I guess a manager helped? Not sure it was an older man but he went over there…found the book in like 5 mins.

5 mins vs 45 mins. It’s just a bit erking but other than that singular experience. This is a great book store to stop by at.

It’s fun to browse but mostly everything is priced at the books original price even if it’s outdated. I love their book nick back sections and would’ve purchased a few t shirts but that section was disorganized, the shirts advertised weren’t on shelves and all the sizes and sorts were jumbled together. Some books were hard to find and I spent a long time in the store with no help. Maybe it’s a mall thing, but I wish they had a bathroom inside their store.
