Stopped in and had a great anaerobic pour over. My brother-in-law has been recommending King Bean as a competitively priced alternative to some of the other local roasters in Charleston. I also purchased a 2 lbs bag of the Capers Blend to try. I'd love to see them offer a 2 lbs bag of the anaerobic Ethiopia Gedeb around $30. I would buy that once or twice a month.

Some of the best coffee and friendly people. I love the Sullivan's Blend, it makes a delicious cold brew. Twenty Strong is great too. Your missing out if you have not stopped by. While you are there you can get a drink as well and the rotate different cold brews amd other drinks.

100% the epitome of southern hospitality this place has a warm feeling just when you step in! The coffee is delicious and the barista we always see is so sweet the beens they offer in the other side are also completely different they get the beens raw and roast them themselves so delicious and 100% recommend for any coffee addict on your way to work

King Bean is absolutely fantastic and should be your go-to for every day coffee! The staff is exceptionally kind and will brighten your day. The nitro cold brew is my personal favorite and I would definitely recommend giving it a try!

The nitro cold brew is delicious
They have both a dark and light roast variety. The light is fruitier and the dark is more of a Columbian chocolate flavor. I loved the dark nitro. It had a great head and smooth finish.

This is a roaster that happens to serve when customers come by. Ring the bell to get in. They aren't a true cafe of anything. More of a quick stop. Know what to expect and you'll love what they have.

Loved the nitro! Did I mention that? Great service from Megan as well.

As long as they tell you they don’t take cash before you have incurred the debt from ordering they can legally refuse cash. It’s their right. If they tell you after, then they have to take cash to settle your “debt”.

I love this little shop on Dorchester Road, North Charleston. There is nothing else on the way to work and their cold brew is so good.

I pass by this coffee shop every day going into work and finally decided to stop. Best decision ever made! Every cup that I have ever gotten from them has been very good. Doesn't upset my stomach and doesn't leave an aftertaste in my mouth. Stop by and give them a try and meet the nicest barista you will ever meet!

Coffee was great and so was the service until I was told I could not use cash. When I mentioned that cash is legal tender and therefore must be accepted (as is printed on our money) the cashier became snarky and argumentative. Not cool. Since I was on my way to an appointment, I decided not to push the issue. However I will not go back, no matter how good the coffee, and I will not recommend King Bean to any of my Patriotic friends or followers. There are plenty of other coffee shops in Charleston that are happy to take our American dollars. Not accepting cash is simply un-American and unacceptable.

Good local roaster in North Charleston that tends to lean more into medium - dark roasts. Have been getting beans from these guys for years and have always been happy with them. Recently stopped in for a cortado at the cafe attached to the roastery and was very impressed with the space, service, and the drink. I will definitely be back!

Fire Beans

I went yesterday to check the place out. I tried going on the weekend previously, but they were closed. I had to ring the doorbell for someone to open the front door. I was greeted by one of the roasters, I think her name was Megan? I told her that I was looking at upgrading my coffee game and she walked me through their beans.

She let me try some of the darker roasts and lighter roasts that they offer. You can purchase cups of coffee hot or cold brew. I ended up talking about one of the more citrusy coffees that I had liked in the past and she recommended an Ethiopian bean. Ended up walking out with a cup and two bags of beans. 10/10 customer experience.

Today I tried the Ethiopian via French press using the James Hoffman method. Let me tell you, this is the BEST cup of coffee (black) that I have ever made at home. The complexity of the flavor, freshness of the beans and the ability to pick out different flavor notes put this in the S tier for sure. I will be visiting next month to try out some more. Highly recommend!

What a cool place. They roast all their beans and house, you can get whole beans and ground beans, as well as cold brew right at the front lobby. Smells wonderful, taste even better I will be getting all my coffee here from now on.

Visited the roastery for the first time after having had several delicious blends. The staff was very friendly and they had a variety of roasts available in the store. I wish they had a place to sit and sip but they said that may come in the future. Will go back when in town!

This is absolutely phenomenal coffee. My go-to blend is the Strawberry Fields, a light roast primarily composed of Ethiopian yirgacheffe. I order online where every 12oz bag is roasted to order. Turnaround is usually within a business day, excluding Friday so freshly roasted product doesn't sit around all weekend during shipping. The email newsletter regularly includes discount codes so I get a great deal on my order every now and then.

Our good friend Corey took us on a Tour & Tasting today at King Bean...Very interesting and delicious! If you have eaten in a downtown restaurant, you have probably had their coffee.
