I like the inventory at Michael's. I travel the entire state of South Carolina on a daily basis, so i'm in many different cities daily. I visit many different locations and notice that each store has a basic similar inventory, but the individual stores always have little bonus finds that I don't see at other locations.

The prices on the products are in line with other craft stores, but higher than you can find as a thrifty shopper.

The store was dirtier overall than some of the other stores I frequent, and the bathroom was atrocious. Every stall was dirty, and each toilet was in dire need of attention.

There was plenty of parking.However, they were putting new asphalt down in the parking lot, so a lot of it was blocked off, but I still had no trouble finding plenty of spaces.

The staff is nice and they do provide some things you cannot find anywhere else. They are also open until 10PM, which is good.

But, they are missing a lot of items from the shelves. The “discounts” they provide are similar to Kohl’s price model, where they spike the price and tack on a discount sticker to make it look like a good deal. 3/5

Nothing special at all about this location. I paced the same four aisles looking for a specific size and pass by two different employees talking to each other and not acknowledging me. After 30 minutes I just bought the closest size but I'll probably be having to bring it back. Pretty sure I'll just go ahead and buy online when trying to find something at Michaels next time. The girl at the checkout was pretty nice though.

For a while I stopped coming to this Michael’s because it was so crowded with merchandise and boxes everywhere. Just felt really junky, but when I went in on this visit I literally wanted to stay and shop because of how nice, spacious and clean it felt. I was also happy to see the flowers at that time being 40% off, and I love the $5 dollar vouchers they send out :) it’s an incentive to come.

This is my favorite craft store in the area! The sales and coupons make scoring deals here easy. I love their selection of Cricut items and their tshirts (I only wished they carried 2XL). Their seasonal items are also fun to browse. Their uniqueness and quality always make me look forward to stopping in. The staff is also helpful and friendly! 5 stars all the way.

I love this store, it's like a party every time I enter. I absolutely love arts and crafts, and yet they always draw me in with their arrange of many other actives as well. From kids activity books, paint sections, photo sections and wow even their candy section drained my pockets. They have an amazing group of stuff to explore for building things like mini items and house/world building things like pebbles and small trees.

Like the store and the fact they take other hobby store coupons, but their in store yarn selection leaves some to be desired. In store pickup is fast and easy.

I was in the Michael's in North Charleston last night. I was very happy with my purchases and had a nice exchange with the store team member/cashier. I was walking to my car after dark, looked up and there she was, again, offering to take my cart. That alone, I thought was great customer service, but then she said that she saw that I was out there alone and observed a strange man walking toward me and she was concerned for my safety (I felt a bit leary of his behavior, as well). The man had walked away without incident, but I really was touched by the effort of this person to make sure that I was ok. Unfortunately, I didn't ask her name, but she may have been a manager as she had offered to take over for a cashier so that she could go to the restroom. I just wanted you to know what a great employee you have and please recognize her to the management and the other employees.

Tonight my wife and I went to Michael's for some custom framing. When we went to the frame counter I immediately pressed the button to be helped. It took over 3 minutes before the frame shop worker Carol came walking around the corner while she was sweeping, showing that she wasn't listening to her walkie-talkie that buzzes when someone presses the button. I was not greeted in a friendly manner, she walked around the corner and said can I help you. I said I needed help with custom framing, which she replied with abruptly throwing her broom into the corner and asking me what she could do for me. I had explained to her that my sister was a frame shop manager in New York for the last 10 years so I was going to have her on the phone to help me get everything I needed. After we found the frame that I needed, we went to the desk to look at Mats. In the middle of my sister talking about what Mats she should pull out for me to look at, Carol rudely interrupted and said that she had been doing this for 8 years and she knows what she's doing. After that, my sister had told me to make sure to take the frame out of the cardboard casing, to inspect the edges to make sure that it is not broken or damaged underneath the cardboard. Carol immediately responded with if we open the cardboard tabs you will be paying for the frame, thus not letting me inspect the frame to make sure that it was not broken or damaged. At this point, I felt very uncomfortable with Carol, so I stepped away to have a private conversation with my sister about if I should continue my service with Carol. I was not gone for longer than 30 seconds until my wife approached me saying that the moment that I turned around Carol had said that she doesn't understand why I'm so worried about the frame, it's going to break as soon as I put it in my backpack. At this point, we had had enough of Carol's attitude and poor customer service, so we decided to leave. When I went back to get my certificate and backpack, I told Carol that I would just be sending it to New York for my sister to do and thank her for her help which Carol responded with well there goes 40 minutes of my life I'm not going to get back.
As I said my sister has been a frame shop manager for the last 16 years of her life, 10 of those years she's been framing things for me. I hold Michaels to a much higher standard of customer service. Carol did not meet nor attempt to provide quality customer service in any way.

I purchased a sewing machine and found a better price online so I had my nephew return it for me due to me being at work WITH THE RECEIPT! The WHITE MANAGER at the register refused to return the sewing machine which was in the box UNOPENED. He provided the receipt, the unopened item, his drivers license, and debt card that it was purchased with and SHE STILL ACCUSED HIM OF STEALING IT! This is unacceptable! The EXTREME RACISM that he experienced is hurtful! Her black coworker told her that she was taking it too far but the white woman persisted. I plan on taking legal action against this store because as much money as my company spends in this establishment….there’s no way ANYONE should be treated like this! DISCRIMINATION SHOULD BE AGAINST COMPANY POLICY but I guess they didn’t cover that during orientation.
