La Barba is hands down one of the best spots for coffee in town! Their coffee is consistently excellent, with a rich flavor that keeps me coming back for more. The baristas are not only skilled but also incredibly friendly, making every visit a pleasant experience.
The food menu is just as impressive. Whether it’s their delicious cakes, avocado toast, or other light bites, everything is fresh and full of flavor. La Barba is the perfect place for a morning pick-me-up or a relaxed afternoon break. Highly recommend!

Good experience going to La Barba. Great atmosphere, good batch brew coffee, lattes, etc.
I lowered my review from 5 star to 4 star given that they keep on raising prices in one form or another, understandable but always not a great feeling in a world of ever rising prices everywhere.

I seriously LOVE this place so much. Their food, staff, and service are wonderful. Madi, Addie, Aliza, and Jacinta are the best workers. They work hard and are friendly to everyone. The only thing I wish for would be a changing table in the bathrooms. I always have to change my baby outside during the summer months and just on one of the tables during the winter months, but that's the only place I can change him at so I ignore the stares. Haha! Changing table please!

I’m from Portland, OR, and it’s hard to find a halfway decent cup of coffee in Utah. The vibe seemed okay at this place so I decided to give it a try because I wanted to treat myself to a nice coffee shop experience for my birthday (really missing Portland). First of all, the place has almost no GF pastry options. Just ONE. I give my order, and I ask for a large latte for here. What I get is a cup of coffee and whole milk in a paper cup. No latte art, ratio of milk to coffee totally off (it was like drinking warm milk). Or it’s possible the shots were pulled poorly too, I don’t know. Staff didn’t even offer to redo it, just said that they don’t have large cups so all large drinks go into a paper cup (is this shop owner insane???). If you’re wanting a quality, Portland-level experience, do not come here. Additionally, I asked for a hard boiled egg with my avocado toast, and I got soft boiled. I top of that, my toast wasn’t even toasted. Just a raw piece of sourdough with toppings. The customer service is awful here, and I’m so disappointed.
If you want quality coffee, go to 3 Cups near Cottonwood Heights. That’s the only place I have found so far that is even remotely some level of quality for what you pay for, with good customer service.
La Barba has horrible quality and is not worth the price. Very sad and disappointed in this place.

Loud, crowded, had to wait for a seat - ordered two cappuccinos for here (cashier confirmed they were for here,) and after ten minutes I asked if the order for Ryan was ready and the barista said “was it two cappuccinos?” (she didn’t know the name on the order,) so I said yes and she pointed to two paper cups and said somewhat rudely “I called you.” You called who? You don’t even know the name on the order, didn’t write it on the cup (next guy had his name on his tho,) and even from literally the closest table to her, we couldn’t hear it because it was so loud - plus I ordered coffees to stay, so I assumed the paper cups were not for me. Didn’t complain because it would be a waste and took the coffees to go. Yikes.
Aside from the disappointing experience, the coffee we were served was honestly very mediocre. The milk tastes a little sour. I bought a bag because the beans smelled good so hopefully I can make a better cup myself…won’t be back though.

This place seems to always be hopping. I did my second coaching call here and it’s a great place to meet new clients.
I ordered a great caramel iced coffee and avocado toast. When I was told they had just run out of avocados and offered me anything else on the menu, not only did they not charge for the upgrade, they refunded my money. Great customer service and great food.

Pretty decent, takes an eerie amount of time to make simple toast though. 20 minutes? For toast? What's going on back there?

I’ve ordered many drinks the past few months and over half of them have been incorrect. They’ve been the wrong size, the wrong milk (dairy when I asked for nondairy), missing shots, or lukewarm. A few times it’s been all of the above. I don’t enjoy paying an extra buck or three when I ask for nondairy or an additional espresso shot and not get it. I’ve lost trust with La Barba. I’m sad because it didn’t used to be this way.

My last coffee was amazing. The one today not so much. I ordered a flat white both times. Last time it was perfect, smooth and velvety milk sitting atop a bold espresso. This time the milk was over foamed and mixed all through the coffee. I tell you only because either I just go somewhere else or maybe you can take it constructively and improve. There's not many places here that do good coffee, so if you can really master it you will stand out! And I'll be back.

Acoustics of the building made it very loud when busy. My prosciutto and Goat cheese toast tasted pretty good, but I had to saw my teeth through each bite for at least a few seconds, and sometimes even that didn't work. My friend got the avocado toast (she had to specify that she didn't want NORI on her avocado toast, which screams "unique" for unique's sake), and it came drenched in olive oil. It's also pretty expensive, but that's to be expected. Overall, it's just another pricey coffee shop with pretentious, expensive food. I probably won't be back, personally.

Super sad that I’m writing this post because I like supporting small businesses. However, the last few times we’ve come have simply gone downhill. The first time I came I was super impressed, the second time we came, both our coffees tasted nothing like what we ordered, and today when we came, we waited 45 minutes before we said something about our coffees and food. After seeing about ten people who ordered after us get their coffee and food, we asked where our order was. They said the food was ready but had never called out our name (we were sitting at the first table right where they call out orders so we would’ve heard it) the food was cold and then they asked if we got our drinks. We said no and they said they were making our coffees now. About five more orderes were called before we got our coffee (so they definitely forgot about us and they weren’t “making them right now”) and they weren’t good either. Coffees are very small (only one size) and prices are comparable to NYC and I feel like that’s saying something…expensive. We drive 20 minutes to come here and after our experience today, Sadly we won’t be coming back.

I'm still here at La Barba Coffee for twenty plus minutes. It is not too busy. My Vanilla Latte is still three drinks in que. Forty five minutes for a Vanilla Latte. Never in any coffee shop in America have I had to wait 45 minutes for a 12 Oz drink. And the lady batista are openly whispering and gossiping to each other about the customers. Will be getting in touch with management.

Good lattes, cute atmosphere. Tasty avocado toast too. The only negative I'll mention is that their cold brew is awful. Sour and astringent and basically devoid of any pleasant coco or coffee flavor. Don't buy the e-gift card.
I've been trying to purchase an e-gift card for my boss since Thursday and it's been a terrible transaction experience.
I called Thursday morning to order an e-gift card. The charge hit my account instantly, so I assumed everything was smooth. A few days went by and I never saw a confirmation email. (Yes, I checked my spam folder.) I started to worry. I called this morning (Sunday) to learn that they had botched my email address and never entered in any of my recipient's information. I carefully spelled both emails multiple times, and confirmed they were correct. How did the information magically get changed/deleted? I was charged for services I couldn't receive and I'm kind of worried somebody who works here tried to scam me.
I spent all morning trying to get to the bottom of this with an employee who admitted to knowing very little about the process. I asked to speak with a manager and was told I would have to wait until Tuesday. That's terrible customer service. The employee I spoke with was able to cancel the transaction and replace the order, but I have little confidence in my recipient receiving the gift card at this point.
There is something fairly wrong with your system if you're able to charge people without a correct email address. If any managers would like to call and discuss how a mistake like this happens, you have my information.

Do you love coffee? I mean L.O.V.E. coffee? If you do love coffee, then this is the place for you. I had a latte with oatmilk, my husband had Mocha. The coffee was so smooth, so delicious I didn't add syrup, no sugar, just the delectable coffee and frothy oatmilk. This coffee is spectacular, no after taste, no acid.
The ambiance of the coffee shop is peaceful, laid back vibe, but the coffee...transformational. Puts the chain coffee shops to shame and the prices are fantastic (under 5.50 for 16 Oz latte). Stop in and have a cup, take a bag of beans home, I promise, you will not be disappointed.

If you are looking for better than what you have at home, this isn't it.
This has the common novelty of coffee and breakfast sides that you don't have to make yourself with a relaxed atmosphere (what matters most to some)
This does not have coffee that is majorly different from what you can produce from a home coffee maker.

Great cold brew! I had 2.
Published 3 years ago
Pros: Ambiance
Cons: Cold Brew was genuinely horrible. I should have known when a girl brought up her cold brew, asked for a drip coffee, and asked them to throw away the untouched cold brew. I also tried their avocado toast and was very underwhelmed. It was equal parts bland and fishy (they add seaweed strips to the top). The flavor profile of avocado toast should not be described as Fishy and Bland.
Overall, I'll be making a concerted effort to avoid La Barba.

Pros:
• Great drinks
• Clean overall (including restrooms)
• Cool indoor outdoor space for warmer months (glass panel garage door that opens)
Cons:
• Not the friendliest staff - I asked for recommendations and was given a "I don't know what you like." and left to choose.
• Not a spot for long study sessions or working. uncomfortable seating and very few seats have outlets near them.
