This is an incredible specialty grocery store with lots of cultural Classics from Germany, Great Britain, and other parts of europe. They have incredible deals on many imported items making their prices comparable to standard American Staples you would find in local grocery stores. Their staff are very personable and friendly, and willing to help find what you need and try to save you money too. There are also lots of gluten-free items from all over the world. My family and I will be back here many, many more times in the future.

Years and YEARS ago my family and I started shopping here. We’re Dutch and they carry some fantastic Dutch items. All their products are great and people have been spreading the word, because it’s hard to find a parking space nowadays, even with the new parking area. If you’ve never been to this place you’re missing out. This store puts Joe’s place to shame.

I absolutely LOVE this place….but my goodness they need to invest some money into the parking situation here. No defined parking just a muck wherever and cars on at each other, people speed through the rocks and nearly hit people and it’s just utter chaos. They need to pave, paint it and have organized parking. Open the front of the building to parking by the road too. It makes coming here a sore spot

Love the products they sell but not a good experience today. They don't price their products individually but have a little card in front. We wanted to buy a cheaper product but the girl at the cash register said it was marked wrong, asked us to show her where it was so they could change it instead of honoring it. We didn't buy it, but went to pay for the rest. The thing at the cash register where the customer can see the prices was broken, so I checked the receipt and yes, they charged me more for another product than the card in front said. Before she refunded it she wanted to check it and I said: so you dont believe me? She said, I do but she still had to check. ( She removed the price tag to change it into a higher price). When I complained suddenly she offered to sell me the other product for the lower price, but I didn't want it anymore. Not a good experience and bad customer service. If they make mistakes, they should honor the price! The girl that helped me was rude ( and that was not just my opinion but from another customer too).

Ahoy mateys! Pirate O's has got to be on your list as a place to visit when you are in the Salt Lake City area. It is worth the trek down to enjoy the sublime treasures that await you in the store!

If like me, you are a foodie, and if like me, you miss foods that you have eaten when you have been abroad, well, then this is a must-visit! Pirate O's has boutique sodas that are not available at most grocery stores as well as deicious imported goods. In particular you will find an excellent German and English section. It also has one of the largest walls of hot sauce that I have seen in any store. Finally the cheese section is delightful and you can find some fine imported and domestic cheeses that are difficult to location. Keep in mind that it leans more towards Western European goods. There is a sale section that is also worth checking out and an excellent tea section. X marks the spot at Pirate O's for delicious eats!

(If you are wanting Asian goods you'd be better off going to Ocean Mart and for Eastern European going to European Tastees.)

If you even say hi to them they roll their eyes and dont respond. I wish I could say we will definitely be back, but I am not sure we will. Let me first say I was shocked on how great the selection is! I live one state over and drive 4 hours to go to this store today and I am glad I did!!! By far the best selection of British foods I have seen without ordering directly from England. The chocolate selection alone was very impressive, along with seasonings, jams and more. I am glad I made the trip and plan to go back again when I need a European treat. Great selection and friendly staff, definitely a must stop if your in the Utah area!!!!

Unique and awesome place to get a taste of some British products. They sell some frozen foods, lots of candy/ sweets, hot sauces, syrups, canned goods, little unique toys, cheeses, drinks and cool season items. I found Golden Syrup here which is helpful for baking British recipes. Awesome place to get some unique and tasty gifts for loved ones. Has a real charm to it. You really have to visit for yourself to experience it. They sell some typical products you can find in any other grocery store but all in all it has many European, Japanese and British items you would have to order online to get a hold of. Prices can be steep but that’s because of shipping and I’m sure to help keep the place a float. All worth it and I definitely will be coming back again!

they used to have so much niche stuff but honestly these days you can just go get everything they have and more at harmons. i do like the cafe tho and they also have these little yugioh gacha keychains you can buy. i like those.

edit: i am sorry pirrate o, i haven't given you enough credit. these guys have some good imports and it seems like their inventory is continuing to expand. plus, the atmosphere of the place is cute, i should give bonus points for that. tbh tho, i've thought it over more and i think the main issue with their stock is it's kind of quantity over quality. there's a lot of gimmick drinks/candy/hot sauces/whatever that people only buy once to try for fun knowing they're gonna suck. i fw the concept of fun food, but its too bad that stuff is probably taking the spot of products that people would actually want to revisit. no hate tho, i still go here a lot and they get a ton of well earned business.

Rare little gem in Utah. Eclectic selection of hard to find Euro foods mixed with southern charm. A little slice of the bayou with an amazing selection of hot sauces!!

Best chocolate selection around! Really love this place, but recently noticed a bit of an odor, especially in the back room. Might be time for a plumbing check up?

Awesome gourmet market. An Izetta on the porch like my dad's. Large selection of hot sauces, candy, cheeses and kitsch. Going to come by more often after I visit the folks.

We were told it is great for international foods. In reality, it is more of a "nostalgia foods" store with a lot of American items from a decade or 2 ago. Most international items can be found in many other (even mainstream) stores in the valley too, though you might have to visit multiple stores. Not cheap. While there are some fun sides to the place, all in all, it was disappointing in not being a place where we can find international food items we can't find elsewhere. So far, this just not available in SLC, and this store does not fill the void...

This is such a wonderful hidden gem of a place. If you're looking for interesting or fun, unique or specialty items/food, this is a great place to look for them. I've talked with some of the staff. You can even order things in if you're looking for a very specialty item.

Great gourmet market with a British lean. Imported sweets and mixes. Great selection of cheeses, jams, biscuits as well. They even had the duck fat I needed for holiday roasted potatoes.
