Did not want to price match to Academy even though corporate policy is they do. Bat was same model, same drop, same size, same everything that was available at Academy in Fredericksburg and to ship to the house. Just prefer to have it in hand. Claimed I was trying to get a different model bat (which that bat is a whole different color) for a lower price. Will not return to this store. Only good part of this trip was the woman who was working in the clothing section was helpful & positive experience to the store.

Extremely uncomfortable shopping experience I went to buy both of my boys brand new basketball sneakers, and two new basketballs for their upcoming AAU season only for loss prevention to post up near me and make me extremely uncomfortable to the point. I almost walked out, but I thought if I left, They might think I was actually in the store trying to steal, so I decided to go ahead with the purchase. The next time I decide to spend $532.58 on sport equipment it will not be with dicks sporting goods.

None of the employees seem to give a crap about helping customers, they’re too busy on their phones.

Asked person at the checkout after searching the store for shoelaces where the shoelaces were and her reply “ oh, I don’t know. Check with someone in shoes.”

The person who shoes points me to a box of 20 shoelaces .

Really your store has tons of shoes and you only have 20 pairs of shoelaces in the entire store?

If you want to go to a mediocre store for entry-level sports equipment this is your place. Otherwise stay away.

I came here expecting to buy a gun case for my new rifle. When I got there an employee told me they got rid of all guns and gun related items and didn’t even have anything like gun cleaner, all gone. I was very disappointed to see this and was wondering why. Oh well. They had a great selection of everything else and is also a two level store but for some reason the store entrance on the first level was closed and the garage style metal door was down so I had to go back to the second floor to exit the store and go back into the mall.

I will never shop at Dick’s again. Bought a hoodie in May, wore it for 2 weeks and washed it once and the zipper completely fell off. Dick’s would not exchange it and suggested I contact underarmor direct as they would not exchange it without a receipt. I am not in the habit of keeping every receipt - so I accept my part, but I feel that is terrible customer service and I had to eat $100 for a useless product. It was a complete turnoff and I won’t ever return.

Btw - this is their official return policy:

Returns without a Valid Proof of Purchase must be returned using a valid ID and will receive a store credit for the lowest selling price. Store credit may be used for in-store merchandise purchases only.

Obviously they don’t honor their own policy. I hope people read this review.

I purchased a GT aggressor MTB from this location a while back have not been able to get on the bike much and recently got back onto it and I discovered my front wheel is not anywhere close to true. to the moron that worked on my bike before I took it home you should be fired the bike itself is decent and a good starter MTB but when I'm purchasing something that expensive I expect it to be damn near perfect and because of the employees incompetence I have to true the wheel myself with literally no experience thank you

As if they werent the least helpful people who avoid customers at all costs. Today I inquired if the gates would close at 9. They confirmed. We came back 15 minutes early so we could get to our car. Me and my two kids in this cold weather. Of course the horrible employees who hate all human interaction put down all the gates early. Now we have to walk out a far entrance all the way to our car and I took video of this too with a time stamp. I did knock a few times in the hopes theyd open their gates and they wouldnt. And the gate downstairs was already closed by 8:30 so there was no point in trying that one.

It was an OK experience we went looking for snow pants and there was such a slim selection. We ended up going elsewhere for jackets and snow pants but did get gloves and balaclavas. Wouldve figured mid January that there would be a bigger selection of snow wear. Update 4/23/22: Still just an OK experience lol. Google asked me to update the review. All sorts of summer things out. Bought 2 pairs of womens shorts and a mens tank top. $90 are you kidding! Literally the items with the least amount of fabric cost so much. That being said the manager was great at returning an item with a gift receipt that was giving the POS trouble. Thanks manager!

Not bad overall but I went to the 2nd floor and finally got the attention of the guy at the registrar, once he finally took his earphones out, I asked where the volleyballs where and he said probably downstairs, as I was going back down I saw them out of the corner of my eye and found them, UPSTAIRS. Shouldnt be hard to know where things are, I wasnt asking a professional question, he should at the very least know where the department is. Take out the earphones and be at least slightly professional, have some kind of pride

Not much of a variety, and when looking for soccer cleats there isn t anyone around in the shoe department to assist. I even used the call button and scanned the shoe. And when I took my son s bicycle in for repair, understandable that it was a busy season. It would likely take more than the 5 days they originally said. It took a whole month and not even fixed. Guaranteed the part wasn t even ordered. Said they d call me back, but I knew that was a lie. There s no such thing as good customer service no more.

Worst customer service!!! I bought a Hoka Clifton 8 running shoes from the store as per their associates recommendation. I asked about the return policy and was told that I can return the shoes within 30 days if its lightly worn. I bought the shoes on Monday and wore it on Tuesday went for a light jog and got blisters on my feet. I went to the store to return the shoes and get another pair more fitting but they refused to take it and denied any policy of wearing the shoes outside the store. It felt like I fall into a trap

We used to have a big DSG store in fairfax but it was closed and moved to a smaller lot in the fair oaks mall with a small stock. So i went to the Dulles one. Even though it didnt seem they have a lot of staff around, but I was greeted and offered help quickly. I was assisted by Ralph, who took the trouble to identify the model and price tag of the kayak for me and then an another round for a discount with the store mgr since the kayak was apparently the last one, missing manual and was stained some black marks, and then another round to help me to carry the kayak to the check out and eventually to my car. He was so patient with me when I told him that I was not sure that my car would be large enough to carry the kayak inside, and I may need to return it if the kayak didnt fit in. While I was waiting at the check out, Ralph took the trouble to clean the stains on the kayak for me. I really appreciate his assistance patience and kindness. If it was not the professionalism and helpfulness of Ralph, I might not be able to purchase the kayak in the first place and carry it inside my car. All in all, a pretty good sporting goods store and great staff!

Sneaker selection is great and at times they have shoes the big shoe stores dont. Clothes section is also big and well organized. Overall a great store.

Ever since they became the only golf game in town their customer service has plummeted. Went to have some putter grips removed and they griped about even attempting trying to dissuade me from even trying. Then the guy says he ll try after he s done helping a guy but seems to be giving a friend advice on how to putt. The other guy in the department hasn t done grips very much so I decide to wait for the first guy to make time for me. I come back over to check on the status and the first guy goes on break for 45-1 hour? Another guy smirks at me from behind a computer helping another customer with an online order? Stuck and frustrated

I have been coming to this store since it first opened. Today I came to buy a new $300-$400 golf driver. I wanted to try out a few drivers on the simulator before I bought one. I was told they were understaffed and were shutting it down for the night. 5 minutes later the employee that told me that the simulator was closing for the night walks by me with his dinner. I understand people need to eat but it was 1 hour before closing. You think when someone wants to drop $300-$400 you could have waited to eat. Especially when your understaff I will not be purchasing a new driver from here and will take my business somewhere else.

Brought my family in and we purchased over a $100 of fishing stuff. My daughters fishing pole screw broke on the first cast. We came in within two hours of our purchase and you all refused to do a return. I was told I should have known that the quality was poor and purchased a protection plan. I said I have a kids pole like this I bought two years ago and it is still not broke. You knowingly sell defective equipment and expect us to pay more to be able to return it? I would have understood if I came in a few days or weeks later but literally the same day, two hours later and I was only returning the one pole nothing else I purchased that day. I am extremely disappointed as we purchase all our kids sporting equipment there. We will no longer be purchasing from this store. Lack of customer service and respect.

They are never on the same page. One employee says one thing, the other says another. They dont even know the locations of things around the store. The bike department is a mess and not committed to what they say AT ALL. I have had bad experiences there before the worst experience was today. TAKE THE DRIVE TO LEESBURG OR ALDIE

We bought a canoe on-line and they tried to load a dented and damaged floor model into my truck.....and didnt even comment how severely damaged it was. I find it rather insulting that they would just try to load a clearly damaged product into my truck, without saying anything

So I walk in to the store and couldn t find anyone to help out to find a product( soccer cleats). Then kept on walking around till I got to the soccer section where the soccer cleats for some reason nowhere couldn t be found in the soccer section. Finally, I found the section where soccer cleats are located. I approached an associate who I asked her beforehand if she knows anything about soccer cleats or if she works in that section, her response was yes. Completely wasted my time, 20 mins of going back and forth with her, didn t know anything, not a single piece of knowledge about soccer cleats or the difference between brands. I asked her for a specific type and legit made her search process easier so I can just buy and dip and all what she kept on doing is scanning and looking around. At the end she told me sorry. Didn t even bother to ask for help or finding a way of figuring out what I was looking for. I didn t post this because I couldn t find the product I was looking for, I posted this review because of the treatment I received when I was trying to be at best as I could to just make a quick in and out transaction. Ohhh my God!! me, my wife our 2 years baby and a new born (3 weeks) got inside the mall from DICK S door planing to go to H&M for some kids clothes, At the H&M, 4 police officers came in and asked us genteelly that the DICK S manager said we stole something from their store. We got chocked, I insist to go back with them to see the prove (camera), once we got their, the store manager said I can not show you the prove because of our policy. So why you sent police chasing us? He goes, somebody else stole today I thought you did the same thing. He judge us with a new born baby to stole his $10 shirt. We felt so bad, that s actually the first time this kind of incident happened to us. I won t take it the next level, I just said thanks for you customer service. Horrible security and management.

Worker at the golfing area told us not to touch the golf clubs and that we can t afford them, didn t want to tell us his name, the Manager needs to better train his employees, don t want to make this a racial review but I could tell he was racist, he told us to back out and not enter the golfing place but he didn t tell other White people the same, don t know if he didn t like our ethnic or he thought we were poor.
