My Experience at Macy’s Department Store

I recently visited Macy’s to purchase a birthday gift for my elder sister. Upon entering, I was greeted warmly, and the store had a clean, pleasant atmosphere with a nice fragrance. The sales clerk in the department I visited was attentive and ready to assist. Although I wasn’t initially shopping for fragrances, the clerk introduced me to several, which was a nice touch.

I faced some difficulty choosing between two items for my sister, so I called my youngest sister for advice. In the end, I found out that another family member had already purchased something similar to what I had in mind, which led me to reconsider my options. Despite this, the store had a great selection, and I appreciated the variety available.

While the store was a bit crowded, possibly due to a clearance sale, I was still able to navigate through the aisles without issue. Overall, the experience was positive—the prices were reasonable, and I received excellent service from the sales clerk.

This location obviously has great management. The store looks fully stocked and the men’s department doesn’t look like an afterthought. Great customer service, the only opportunity is the recovery / organization…. It appears to lack staffing in critical areas consistent with other retailers.

Today, I was exchanging a pair of shoes and the young lady in the shoe department was not only helpful and professional, but she was very pleasant and friendly. She met us with a sweet smile, that continued through the transaction. She’s an asset to the Macys store.

I spent an hour or more in the store waiting to be helped just to leave with nothing. The salespeople were nice and accomodating. I was so glad to have found a shoe I wanted, in my size, and avail in the size up. Well, the shoe had a defect. Did I want to go to the short pump location? uhmm...I think not. Needless to say, the shoe didn't make it home with me.

Keisha and staff are excellent. The salon is always very clean, and protective masks are welcomed but not required. Love the hair service that is provided without breaking the bank. If you try her once, you won't regret it.

I would like to thank Mr. Kevin Coles who did an excellent job. He is the Cosmetic specialist at Macy’s department store on Midlothian Turnpike very professional, and knows his job. I felt so at ease when I sat down in his chair. He asked me what type of look I wanted and he made suggestion. He is a good listener. He explained to me in detail what he was doing and why it was important to do the steps to to ensure the products worked and looked professional. I was so pleased that I could not stop smiling and my family and friends noticed me as soon as they saw me. They wanted to know who and when I have my face done. I love love his mannerism . I can’t praise him enough . I am a very picky person. But, must commend him for a job well done. Well done Mr. Kevin Coles I will refering my friends and family to him. Thank you God! Thank Thank you.

Nice anchor store. Things were clearly marked. Plenty of inventory & lots of sales happening. It was difficult to find a salesperson to assist. Some areas could have been a bit more organized like the shoe section & jewelry. Otherwise, tons of great finds.

I stopped here to pick up a couple of suits for multiple occasions, weddings, parties, etc. They have a large selection, especially if you have a hard time finding your size. Their suit separates are easy to accommodate for your fit. I am on the shorter end, 5 5 and 150 lb. so it's hard to find something that is formal and fits me well, but a foreign lady helped me out so much when picking up my suit and helping size me up properly. I know that many people would like to go to better Menswear or similar stores, but for the price and selection, I believe you can get something better at Macy's that would fit you just as well. Also, since their suits are made from the same brand or designer, the patterning can mix and match with other colors and look great, for example, the blue and black suits would mix and match great!

I enjoyed how nice the store looked. Wasn't too busy despite it being Christmas Eve. The staff was very friendly throughout the transaction. Also, Irena (may have misspelled her name if so I apologize) was very helpful and polite in helping figure out what my body measurements were. Great store for good deals I would come back again if needed.

I’m not sure what rating I should actually give this review. It wasn’t necessarily about the product, per say, more about the customer service. I bought one of the holiday comforter sets about 2 - 3 weeks ago. I washed it as instructed and noticed the comforter was literally coming apart. Of course I decided to return it.
I got to Macy’s and go back to the home department. The associate at the desk had her back to me. So I said “excuse me” and she turned around with a “yes?” I told her why I was there, to return something, she said to put the bag up on the counter. She returned it with no questions asked. I’m not sure if that’s just a no-hassle practice, but as a prior customer service rep in retail, I was instructed to ask why the product was being returned. With that being said, I told her the reason and her response was “thanks for letting me know.”
I could be overreacting, but I don’t think so. Traveling from a ways away and get a “meh” experience. I mean I was also wanting to replace the comforter set, however, I didn’t want to chance it and have to travel yet again for a return. Again, maybe it was just me.

So sad to see the lack of merchandise especially in the men's dept. The personnel are helpful and friendly, but it is not the Macy's I remembered shopping at in the past. Some of my fondest memories were Christmas shopping in all of the Macy's different departments...but no longer is it pleasant or productive. We are watching the slow death of the big box stores...and it is painful... the internet will never replace the feelings we had shopping in the past, but it will give you more time to surf mindlessly sitting in your chair at home getting lazier and lazier.
