I am very picky about my baked goods as I only ever eat them when traveling, so it is a special occasion for me. I agonize over where to go and am too often disappointment. The service here was top notch and the coffee was sublime, but the ham and cheese croissants were perfection! The cream cheese and cherry danish was to die for. I will absolutely be back, this is the top 1% of quality pastries and baked goods you are going to find in the greater Seattle area. I have never written a google review for a bakery after visiting dozens of them, but this place was really that good.

Very good pastry. Coffee above average. Atmosphere needs improvement---stark with no significant decorative features. Small space---not well-designed. Undesirable closing at 2:00 PM--much too early. Validated parking in nearby garage. Should offer smaller quantities of coffee.

We have been there 3 times (all at different times of the day). First off I want to say the cream cheese danish is superb (the best I’ve had anywhere) and it is consistently good every visit.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. However, my biggest issue is the availability of products. The first time we came in it was around noon and there was hardly anything left in the display case. They said you really have to get here early when they open. The second time we came at 10 am and it was the same. The third time we came around 7:15 am and the display case looked exactly the same (photo of the display case on our third visit right at opening included).

It is very frustrating and not very appealing to find that anytime of day it looks like they are sold out.

Royal bakehouse is a nice coffee shop and bakery. They didn’t have nearly as many baked goods as I thought they would, but they looked great. The store is nice and clean, but I wouldn’t call it inviting or cozy as it’s more sterile. They do have tables to sit in to relax or do some work. The staff is very nice and friendly and they have a good selection of coffees. I ordered the breve latte, and it was good. I didn’t buy any pastries, although they looked delicious.

I typically love coming to this cafe every weekend. However, this weekend the new Asian barista’s judgement attitude made my experience unpleasant.
After I ordered a regular latte, I was given a vanilla latte. I was not bothered, and politely informed her of my accurate order, as I do not like sugar and have never ordered vanilla.
Immediately, she got very defensive and acted like I was in the wrong, claiming I misspoke and gave a judgmental look.
While she did fix my drink, I noticed this behavior toward other customers as well, such as screaming the drink name with an irritated tone when customers do not immediately grab the drink from the bar. I have always had pleasant experiences with everyone else working here, and love the food.

I am terribly disappointed with this place. I have repeatedly patronized this French bakery to get a croissant.

Nope.
Over and over they're out of product, or it's going to be a half hour or more to wait. This sucked big time. This is my last time bringing my coworkers to a place I was highly recommending

Great pastries and service! I had a cherry cheese croissant and breve latte, and my friend had a marionberry croissant, and we both thought they were delicious. The staff were quick and nice too. My only complaint is the nearby parking – I parked in the Metropolis lot next door and got a parking ticket even though I had paid for an hour and was only there 15 minutes. So I highly recommend this bakery, but I do NOT recommend parking in the lot next to it!

Amazing industrial modern and cozy coffee lounge. High quality ingredients, fresh, fair pricing. Outdoor seating with umbrellas. DOH rated Excellent!

Tried the fresh fruit danish, smores crepe, and avocado toast.

Avocado toast: crispy, crunchy bread, large avocado, fried egg over hard, crushed red pepper flakes.

S’mores crepe: Crisp, great texture, cooked perfectly! Great for picky eater who loves Nutella.

Fresh fruit danish: flaky, buttery danish, cream cheese not overly sweet.

Did not disappoint!

As far as I'm concerned, Royal Bakehouse in Bellevue has the best almond, chocolate almond, and plain buttery croissants outside of France! All of the French and Italian inspired pastries and desserts I've tried have been delicious. Certainly the best in the Bellevue area. Each time I've stopped by since their grand opening in late November 2020, the chef/owner has surprised with new interesting treats in the pastry cases--Millefeuille, apricot cream cheese danish, eclairs, caramel apple strudel, etc.--all delicious so far. Of course there is a host of great breakfast and lunch savory croissants, sandwiches, salads, and crepes available, too. Hand crafted Italian espresso drinks top it all off. Highly recommended!

Absolutely no service. You need to order and tip ahead of time, to bus your dishes. Go to the counter for everything from water, sugar and spoon.

I mean why are you even asking customers for tips if you don't plan on giving any service at all.

Almond croissant was pretty hard. Maybe a day or so old.
Spicy veggie crepe had no spices. No salt or pepper. Completely bland.

I visited this restaurant hoping for a tasty dinner, but I was deeply disappointed. The food was tasteless and cold, it was simply impossible to eat. Moreover, they clearly overdid it with the spicy sauce, which ruined the entire flavor. After the first bite, the food went straight into the trash. The service also left much to be desired: the waiters were inattentive to the customer's requests and didn't hear them. I don't recommend this restaurant to anyone, it was a complete failure.

This is a non-pretentious bakery in a town that has more pretentiousness than what’s normally necessary. B-town never really experienced the dot bomb nor the ‘08 nose dive. Let’s focus. The bear claw is recommended without a stutter-hesitation. A bakery must have good amount of full-on gluten flour and maximum dairy butter from a sturdy cow. They deliver both with an unsuspected crème d’amandes punch that will beat up your taste buds. Forget Paris. Everything melts in your mouth and you want more. I will be back RB.

Huge portions! Almond croissant and almond chocolate croissant were 1.5 size of normal. The croque madam was also huge and had pear inside of it which made it taste really good for its unique taste. Not as fancy as say LExperience Paris and the French Bakery but larger portions and almost as good taste with much much better coffee.

I had the pleasure of visiting this wonderful, family-owned coffee shop & bakery in Bellevue and I can’t help but share my amazing experience! The moment that I stepped inside, I was warmly greeted by the staff to a friendly and inviting atmosphere. The place is cozy and has a modern ambiance with a spacious seating area. The staff were very friendly and provided exceptional customer service!

The coffee is truly the best that I have EVER tried. The coffee is very fresh, not too sweet nor bitter, and the flavour is absolutely amazing. Over the course of 3 days, I was fortunate enough to try a variety of menu items that I will mention below. I tried the limited edition Vietnamese strawberry coffee which was perfect to taste. I also tried the mocha and the hint of chocolate made it a perfect afternoon drink. My favourite coffee was the latte which was top tier! You can really taste the quality and freshness of the Italian coffee beans in every sip!

The desserts and sandwiches were also very delicious! I had the fresh fruit danish, the almond chocolate croissant, and the bear claw. The pastries were soft, flaky, and not too sweet. For the sandwiches, I tried the reuben, the bacon, egg and cheddar with avocado, and the spicy chipotle chicken sandwich. I really enjoyed bacon, egg and cheddar with avocado sandwich which came in a flaky croissant. My only regret is that I didn’t try more items!

I have nothing but positive things to say about Royal Bakehouse! They go above and beyond for their customers and make sure that you are completely satisfied with your experience. They even offer free parking in the building next door! Royal Bakehouse has earned my highest recommendation to anyone in the Bellevue area! This place is a visit if you are in town!

This was a disappointment. To be clear, I actually didn’t end up being a customer of this establishment because I left before I got to order. Although everything on display looked delicious they had a small selection compared to other bakeries I’ve been to (it was around 1:30pm). While I was at the glass case about to order, two women clearly cut in front of me and ordered the last of several pastries. Instead of the cashier saying something to these women to allow me to order first, another employee removed the remaining pastries saying there was an online order. Due to the poor customer service, I decided to leave and go somewhere else.

Website needs updating. Most things on their menu can't be ordered unless you have called 3 days in advance. But this isn't noted on their website or anywhere else I can see. Sort of strange for their slogan of "Scratch-Made Recipes Made in-House Every Day". I would like it if they noted this policy clearly on their site. Especially since I believe it's common for bakeries to take small cake orders for the following day.

A nice cafe with numerous desert option. Suggestion if you really want to enjoy dessert go early because they get sold out by the end of the day.

Nice place under a residential building on the back side. There is building Construction going on in front of the shop but it really doesn't effect the indoor sitting area. The chicken egg croissant sandwich was very good without the usual heavy mayo taste. The croissant was perfect without too much butter and not dry. We were there around 2:30 pm so the pastry display is almost empty. We will try their coffee and other pastries next time.

We get coffee a fair amount when we go places, so this review is strictly based on my own experiences as a coffee drinker.

We got a chocolate muffin, chocolate almond croissant, and a vanilla latte.

All of the baked goods were superb. Crunchy, flakey, and not too sugary or overpowering compared to something you might get from a grocery store.

The Latte was not scalding hot, but the perfect temp. The vanilla tasted like more like a raw vanilla or extract rather than the overly sugary syrup you get at 99% of coffee stands. Usually I don’t order flavoring due to the overwhelming sugar taste, but this was subtle and enjoyable!

Cool location, and the price was fair for downtown Bellevue.

Would recommend!

Passed by and being attracted by this store. A collection of choices on baked breads, pastries, and small cakes. Usually there are more styles from Asian bakery houses (e.g. 85-degree, TOUS les JOURS @ H Mart). And this seems a start appearing.

Every time I am in town for work this is the must stop breakfast shop. There danishes and breakfast croissants are wonderful.. Bakery items made from scratch. I recommend to collegues that travel here... I hear their lunch menu is just as tasty I just have not had the opportunity to try.

Friendly staff, felt very welcomed. I had fresh raspberry millefeuille and cafe latte

Raspberry millefeuille had a light soft cream and was not overly sweet. Latte was decent not too strong. The foam felt ultra light

Summary: Great value and quality!
We ordered 4 different kinds of savory croissants online and had them delivered.
- The croissants are clearly freshly made: fluffy, crispy, and aromatic.
- The portion is huge -- Just one croissant is enough for two of us.
- The fillings (cheese, egg, etc.) are seasoned just enough. Not too salty, which is what we'd prefer.

In regards to their breakfast. This bakery does an assortment of different pastries using pâte feuilletée. I would have preferred to taste something more than a major note of butter and a minor note of almond. There is no traditional cappuccino their either, what they did have was too much milk for such a little amount of espresso. They did do an excellent job on the foam on the cappuccino though. The staff was friendly and inviting.

I go here almost every day for break or lunch. I have gotten to know the owner and staff very well since they opened and the kindness and love they show their guests would be enough but the food and desserts just take it to a new level. I highly recommend this place! Tell them Andrew told you to come check it out.
